  • Mysti and Maestro: Thanks for your replies. I am planning to book 30 days in advance. I will ask them to inform me when actually get the bike. I usually escort them for the registration since RTO is walking distance from home. My Hoodibaba was the 8th one in Mumbai and was attracting quite a few people. I had asked the showroom people to park it in the basement and my father actually had to secure it with a lock and chain for the 2 days. They had warned me that it was at my risk and I am free to take delivery on the same day, though i preferred to spend 2 sleepless nights and wait for the big day.

Mysti: How much did you save by going to a sub-dealer? I would prefer the dealer route since they are less likely to evade octroi which these sub-dealers do to offer a lower price. Akshay Suzuki quoted 73016. This was 15 days back. OTR price on the website is 72396. If you saved 4% of this amount, most likely you would not have got an octroi receipt.

Better late by 30 minutes than early by 30 years.

I booked my bike on 11 nov 11 from Riya suzuki, Mulund and at that time they told me waiting period of 15 - 20 days, but bike arrived at their showroom after a week, I wanted to take the delivery along with registration so it took another 10 days, usually it takes 5 working days, but since i got my bikes colour changed the delivery took longer.
Through showroom I got in 73,200, no offer with the bike you can get seat cover and handle grip, though i suceeded in taking helmet from the showrooom after lot of persusion.
Through sub dealer you can get in approx 1500 less...

        • New Seat Cover

Guys anyone has tried this new seat cover in the market?? I it in Vadodara yesterday...It's black in color, looks and feels like normal rexin cover... but doesn't heat up much. The company is claiming 20 degree temperature difference against normal seat cover. Interesting part is the warranty they are offering...3 years!!! Price Rs. 350-400

I searched it in Thane...seems it's not here yet

                • Has anyone tried Pulsar220 type of seat for our bike? The seat which has 2 partitions. Will it suit for the GS?.. I am planning to try it if that's possible. Also want to attach a saddle bag kind of box which usually people attach to the right side. Dont know what it is called..... Any particular brand or leads/pointers in bangalore?

In October, Akshay Suzuki quoted approx 72K without any accessories.
But sub-dealers offered 71.5K with accessories and octroi receipt.

As the sub-dealer from whom i purchased was my cousins friend so i got it for 70K with accessories and octroi receipt.

Repairing rims and forks, aligning wheels etc are not done at the service centre. But before deciding what to do, consult an experienced mechanic in the SC.
If the bearing is damaged, ask them to replace it under warranty. Replace the rim and front fork if any of it is damaged instead of trying to straighten or repair.

Following are the differences b/w 2 models:
                                1. Visor design change
                                2. Entire stickering and side panel design change
                                3. Gear ratios changed to get more initial pickup
                                4. some what more tuned than 2010 model
                                5. No tubeless tyres in both the models
                                6. I test rode the new GS and i felt somewhat Handle weight is less when compared to old model
