    2. At slow speeds , say less than 2.5k rpm, this setup helps to read the unknown & uneven roads perfectly.

    3. I could able to spot/see the road even when a TATA ACE is coming opposite with a high beam. This guys are having high power lights (dont know it's a stock one or not).,their light's throw & spread were very broader..

    4. Our GS headlight spread is very excellent., in City road conditons riding with a Low beam just covers the whole road clearly... Thanks for that brilliant reflector..

Yet to take my bike a long ride at night to check its performance at highways... Will post that results too..

    Congrats....

A word of caution....go on the long ride during day time with lights on so if any thing goes wrong you won't be standing in pitch dark....if everything goes well....then go at night....

Is'nt you're stock CDI AC, so wont converting the bike to DC cause any problems with you're ignition mapping???

We've a DC pulse generator in the fly wheel assembly which produces the pulse for the spark plug.. It's not connected to the stator coil.. It'll work independently... And even if the stator coil is removed from the bike , it should work w/o problem..

Hence no change to mapping or ignition system.. And I think mapping is possible with fuel injection systems only.. Correct me if I'm wrong..

Im not 100% certain about this, but while going through a few threads, found out that DC bike(ZMA) cant use AC(BBR Revbox for CRF230) CDI, and hence doubted whether they're backward compatible i.e in you're case with bike being AC by stock and later converted to DC.

Every ignition system(Not sure about point type.) has mapping, in FI its programmable, but in CDI its built into the circuits. (Have read that the ZMA has 5 Maps.) the same is triggered by TPS.

              Aneesh,
The CDI in GS is DC.

Ashwin, nothing is there to get confused ..

A DC CDI means,it (ignition coil) gets the supply from the battery.,and a AC CDI gets it from the stator coil.. Simple

Get it checked by local mechanics also. They might charge you less as they dont include taxes...

                          • I am planning to buy this bike around the 3rd week of March. Any idea about the waiting period here in Mumbai? I called up the Malad Suzuki and they asked for 15 days. I dont want them to goof up on the delivery date since I will only accept the delivery on my specified date since all my vehicles have always been delivered on that day. I also dont want to book very early and have it converted to a test mule.

This will replace my Kawasaki Caliber which has clocked 1.15L kms in 105 months. I am hoping for a similar performance from this beauty. The other bikes I have checked out are Yamaha FZ and SZ series (not as fuel efficient as the Suzuki) and the Honda Unicorn (reliable workhorse but never seen one go above 50k kms without engine work)

1440 pages on this thread and I am sure there are a lot of happy owners. Can some Mumbai guys throw some more light on their purchase experience? I am not really interested in the service bit, since I am DIY person and will not visit the workshop for anything. Are their any offers or deals available on this one?

Better late by 30 minutes than early by 30 years.

Nice to hear that youll be buying this beast...

For delivery, as dealers said 15 days it means around 1 month.... if you want to buy on particular date, then book well in advance (it takes time for registration)... Dont worry, it wont be test mule as they keep bikes at godown...

Wat price did they offer u?
If you wanna save some bucks then contact riya suzuki, mulund (Thane), its cheaper than Akshay suzuki (Malad/Borivali).

I bought it from Atharva Motors (who got it from Riya suzuki), it gave me better deal than showroom.

Although, I own it from past few months it didnt upset me anytime...
Others can put light on it.

I got my machine few years back....and it still is pretty good.....
Keep a buffer of 10 days from the delivery date as told by showroom....also ask for free accessories.....and do research with few showrooms....also if you are getting it from showroom which is not in your area then check the registration and escorting charges.....
