    We are waiting for you results, please do share with us also.
    Sorry for the poor memory I've..I think it's around 6.5k rpm. Will confirm it in the next ride.. GS is a Rock solid bike man..
    Have to change my helmet soon to bring some aerodynamics.. My helmet is pushing my head side ways...But my bike easily keeps me on track..
    Poor Vega Galactica...

    SORRY IT WAS AT 6k rpm

      Ya thats for sure it can overtake trucks riding at 60 - 70 kph, just you need to be rock solid on it, not to be shaken by the winds..

        Consider a good riding jacket too

          New GS reaches 80 at 5800 rpm and the old one at 5650. The difference is due to the modified gear ratios.

            I tried 6000 rpm today but was able to reach 78, this was the reason i asked the rpm

              I guess the RPM values stated are assuming zero wind resistance and other factors. So it might be a little higher.

                The possible reason is the speedometer error which is common in every bike.

                          Congratulations and hearty welcome to this discussion. Keep the bike in good condition by regular cleaning, lubing etc. Ride in all gears including 6th within 5K rpm for the initial 800 kms.

                          • Punarvasu & Maestro :::

                            Rewound the coil with 19swg wire now..
                            Please give your feedbacks...
                            36 -38turns on each poles , so a total of 432 turns approx.
                            Still lesser turns than what you've got ..
                            There is no space to make more turns.. This is the maximum it could yield or I could wind.

                            To Punarvasu :: Don't consider the no. I'd written over the stator plate in 1st pic.. I forgot to erase it...

                            • TO PUNARVASU & MAESTRO:::

                              The winding was OK previously with the 18swg wire too..
                              But the problem is with the copper wire used for winding.,
                              It's not an insulated copper wire...
                              I noticed it only after getting the 19swg wire..
                              Waste of time & waste of money by not using the brain correctly...

                              Good night friends... Catch you tomorrow...

                              • lacquer/whatever coating on the fuel tank

                                Can anyone please help on how to remove the lacquer/whatever coating on the fuel tank, i donot like the stickering -hence wanted to remove it(didn't say it is bad). Have already removed all the stickers on my GS150R.
