The roads are not that great in India to achieve redlining in them....

@magesh: Saar, I will keep the spirit behind your words in mind.

All over India the limit for bike is 50kmph for heavy vehicles its 40kmph....and for cars there is no limit unless its mentioned along side the road....
I picked this information from Traffic police website...

SEC. 183. DRIVING AT EXCESSIVE SPEED.
Whoever drives a motor vehicle in contravention of the speed limits referred to in section 112 shall be punishable with a
fine Rs. 200/- which may extend to Rs. 400/-, or, if having been previously convicted of an offence under this sub-section is again
convicted of an offence under this sub-section, with fine which may extend to Rs. 1000/-

And damn....if one has a superbike......he will be forced to ride below 50kmph too....

Good we dont have interceptors in Mumbai!

    • 800 For what???
800 for not producing original vehicle documents. (not xerox copies)
In today's world, quotes don't matter. Quotas do!

I was in a hurry when this happened. After the constable almost loaded my bike up the tow-truck, I had no option but to pay up! He told me to carry originals from next time! I consulted another constable after a few days on this matter, he too told that the law requires originals!

The law requires originals or xerox copies with attestation from higher authorities!

The bypass in my city has boards showing 50kmph for bikes and 60kmph for 4 wheelers. I did pass one of those vans doing 65 but they didn't seem to bother though.

              • ^^^^ Yeah, they let go of a lot of things and only catch the scapegoats. Atleast people learn to play kalla police.

@maestro: Im not sure how SCs work but as far as I know, engine overhauling is not included in the list of periodic maintenance that they usually charge the labour for.

Anything involving dismantling the engine seems like a time and labour intensive job. I wouldnt expect it to be included within usual labour charges.

Who are all qualified to attest the xerox copies?

Interceptors are very common in bangalore. I travel via the newly opened ring road(from Nayandanahalli to tumkur road) and I spot 2 interceptors every alternate days at the same spot (They don't even change the locations).. But I have been lucky so far..

That road(outer ring road) is really a paradise in Bangalore for riders. where near top speeds can be achieved.
Even i travell in tat road upto mysore road . I had a near miss situation with a dog. so now days i dont exceed 65.

But the real problems is people abrupty slow down after seeing interceptors, which is causing accidents.
