What did this 'engine cleaned' involve? can you ask for details? I wonder how you clean an engine.

BTW looks like you're planning ahead for your stay in Karnataka, asking about interceptors and all.

@vikhyath: Thats comprehensive info. Thanks. Im usually above that limit within the 2nd gear itself.

On that note, the throttle response above 6k rpm is addictive. I find it very hard to keep the revs below that. I wish the bike made more power at lower revs.

    • I completed 500 kms today. Finding engine very noisy right even while driving at low speed. Is it normal before 1st servicing?

OMG!!! The only thing we have in Kerala, are a few lazy cops wandering on lazy enfields that are too which are at least as old as twice their age.

        • Today opened the magneto cover to do the conversion today itself..
Started the bike, but there isn't any voltage output from the APE RR...
opened & closed the magneto cover thrice to do checking & adjustments to make it work., But ended up with no results...
So reverted back to stock coil & RR,. Bike is live now...

After changing it to stock RR, just doubted to check APE RR..
So bought a 230/12v transformer to check the RR...
For the applied 12v AC the APE's output is 0.5v and very slowly increased to 2.3 volt DC max...

What to do now? Is this cross check is correct?

Did you connect the rr properly?
If yes then when the ape rr is connected just remove the connection from rr to battery.....raise the rpm.....and just connect the wire back to battery for a fraction of second....I mean just look whether you get any sparks....
Also at what rpm you checked the output of rr.....

Riding has been mostly harsh to ultra ripping and redlining in every gear. For all this abuse, 35 kmpl is not bad I must say.

I wish I got 60kmpl for this kind of riding.

I find it strange. Many people have also complained about the mileage of of gs150R and also of the slingshot. I drive daily on the Ring road at 8am, average speed above 70kmph. I have also in between driven on the NICE road at 90 - 100 . Yet, I have consistently got a mileage of 55 ++ [ highways ] [Completed 2000 km on the ODO today]

I feel that if we ride at around 6000 rpm consistently, we should get a mileage above 50. I will confirm again after riding for another 6 months

Not connected to battery.., Two ends of the coil are connected to APE RR's GREY wire terminals.,.
Connected multimeter's +(V) & -(COM) to RED & BLACK wires of RR respectively.. There is no sign of getting output...
Then I went to check the RR with a 12v transformer., It's results are also bad...
Anyother way to check the RR?

Oh I forgot to tell, I did this all w/o having Fly wheel cover gasket in hand..
Have to open the case again ,so I need to get gaskets again..

                      • The thing is until and unless you connect the rr to battery its not gonna show any readings...as rr can never show any readings....its the battery which will get charged and will give you the voltage readings....

Also....the gaskets are reusable.....i reused them...as i didnt had any options....

@all doing dc conversion....check this out too...simple diagrammatic explaination

I thought the coil would generate some voltage by the permanent magnet revolving around the coil....Which then will be converted to DC by the Rectifier and feed back to battery for charging.,,

Since I'd opened & closed the entire cover 3 times the fly wheel cover gasket got cuts & punctures severely .,,

The voltmeter cannot show the charging readings.....you will need a oscilloscope for seeing the graphical output....

When will the reliable feviquick come in use??????
