Yeah after all, my pursuit of a Hayabusa or GSR750 by next year is taking up all that you call time

Driving and Riding are both doing well.

But my GS150R is getting tired of the boost on the daily basis.
Sprockets got worn out, front brakes have worn out again, rear tyre seldom grips the road now........all are the result of a happily easy going throttle.

Engine note has changed to something that you can identify with "dont f**k wid me " while I hang on for my dear life in the fool infested roads of our nation.

There had also been some crashes........all "saved by God" types.

My GS150R has seen snow cladded mountains and phosphrescent seas.It begs me to go for a real biggie now and leave itself for beating a city of rowdy road users on a daily basis.

Hence, finally I am tired of my excitement and the perfection of my GS150R and is trying to be in peace with myself..........so dat I remain alive

My Saddlesore Log : The 1st Successful Saddlesore in World on a GS150R

      Comment

      • @ nads: So, is your bike back to its original shape? You never had any trouble with the handlebar being too loose?

Im feeling too many bumps from the front. Im also wondering if the steering cup and cone is gonecase. Has anyone changed their cup and cone set within 10000 kms?

@gs150r: As much as Id love to ride up and down nandi, my bike is in such bad shape taht if I show up, I'll have to come with a bag on my head out of shame for having abused it so much.

@all: It looks like a lot of us are venting out our frustrations against the SC's incompetence. They do their jobs adequately and much of it could be acceptable from the average rider's point of view but some of it seems liek sabotage!

I for one, would like to know whats being done on my bike at every step. Though Im mostly present at the SC whenever I get something done on my bike, Im suffering frm poor knowledge of soem of the mechanical workings, settings and procedures....this stem nut adjustment and the fork oil level for example. Live and learn is too lengthy a process for me.

I want to knw what exactly needs to be done on my bike and how it needs to be done. If the SCs seem incapable of it, I want to have the option of trying my own hands at it. Not talkig about taking the engine apart and all that, mind you.

So, atleast from that point of view, I am desperately wishing for a copy of the service manual of the bike. My SC is not willing to share it with me. Ive asked at a couple of others as well, no give. Does anyone have access to it? Does anyone knwo where I can get one?

@mach50: Good to know you are still aliev and kicking the bike. Forgive the joke. Do I sense a defeatist tone in your words? If I remember correctly, didnt you have plans for further modding involving the combustion chamber?

I had biiiiig plans of fitting a wankel engine in place of this on mine and I havent given up hope. Are you telling us that youre bothered by the passion vs practicality arguement?

I kind of liked GS150R and thought of gifting one to my brother. After going thru your post, i need to rethink about it. By the way, i totally liked your writing style, and thx for spicing it up with your (so called fully armed ) photo.

Maestro: Snow clad mountains are not located near my city ,they come up after beating 830 kms of travel over bad roads in 11 hours

And as an advice Maestro........in this world nothing is absolutely yours, not even ur thoughts, everything has its own free will.I once thought Bking is mine........but its production stopped and screwed my big bike thoughts big time as I ponder over what would I go for next........since there is nothing in the market now like a Bking and I do not know what is upcoming on such lines from Suzuki.

Yes, my GS150R has enough in it now............ so that I do not get interested in 250cc bikes available for sale in market of India. What it ails from is the lack of a SVC and dealership in my own city.
Running frequent experiments on it would be fruitful, but why destroy something which proves so sweet on mileage and for daily use(daily usage is the real peril- we have traffic jams and bad roads).

Talking of Practicality- I highly doubt if going flat out on a fast bike is possible for daily use on our roads

I got what you conveyed......Actually i felt that it would be a better option for me to have this bike and give TBTS to my brother, that way he is also more happy and i am happy that i get a machine that is equally good as a commuter and a tourer .....feeling better????

Just kidding bro....and i appreciate your very intention of safe riding.

I need some info from you....may be a repeat one for you from any other user...or it can be available from the same thread, but i wish to hear it from your ownership experience. Please spend few mins for me bro !!!

                      * what is the maximum speed you were able to squeeze out?
                      * based on your experience what do you feel is the optimal cruizing speed in this machine?
                      * do you feel that the stock headlights are good for night riding or would require an upgrade?
                      * any upgrade have you done on your machine?
                      * what is the mileage you are getting highways and within city?

pls pls dont take it annoying, your inputs are so much valuable to me. I ride 700 to 1000 kms as a long trip bimonthly. Apart from that i ride around 35Kms within city everyday.

                      • DC setup results

                        To Vishnu & all :::

I've measured the charging current in DC setup.,.

When all lights are off the charging current is around 1.3 amps..

With position lights ON, it is taking around 1.9 amps at all the rpm...

                        And when Low/High beam ON.,at 3.5k rpm & above it's constant at around 4amps..

I checked the battery voltage too after riding it with headlights ON on the next day morning,, and I got around 12.2v...

                        I guess it's working fine ...

Only thing is if I could able to put some 5turns extra in each pole it would've been better at lower rpms too... I dont mind/hesitate to open the Magneto again... But I need to get the same mentality which I had earlier..
For a safer side I used to switch OFF the lights when waiting for signal (for less than 10s waiting time)..

U got my input, GS150R is a solid machine........if u need a 150cc go for this only.........but if u need something faster- then don't buy anything else but wait for Suzuki's very own Inazuma 250- which would debut in India next year.
