did tappet adjustment for the first time last month again those stupid pro SVC guys didnt get the clearance proper (ie they checked the play between the tappets instead of measuring the gap with feeler gauges) took the bike instantly felt a difference in the engine behavior n engine started getting hot(which has never occurred in the hottests summer of mumbai) took to the SVC n told them to check with feeler gauges in front of me.... those stupid pro SVC mechs hav now kept the clearance at 0.07mm on both the valves... engine is going gud no probs... but researched on the net n found out that exhaust valve clearance should be more than inlet valve.... read the whole manual but couldnt find anything in it.... I dont understand why suzuki is doing this ???? first crappy SVCs all over mumbai
n then they dont even provide necessary info to maintain their bikes m really pissed of with their attitudes towards customers
Can anyone please tell me what tappet clearances are to be maintained on both the valves will appreciate it....
Any updates on exactly how much oil should be filled in the front forks?

Also, you are right, the outlet valve has more clearance than inlet valve in all bikes. I read somewhere that gs150r inlet valve should be set at 0.4 mm and outlet valve 0.9 mm. Not sure on which website i read that. Verify with another suzuki service center too. I think others on this forum can give more info too.

    Happy New Year to all.

          • 2012 and Suzuki's going to rock forever.

Happy New Year to the entire GS150R community and to all Suzuki two wheeler owners from me

Now coming back to our discussions :

I have changed the headlamp of my GS150R from 35W Philips Bixenon to 55/60W Philips Extreme..............but, this bulb is not so cool.

The HID used to flood with white light, the 55/60 in comparison is somewhat dull.
Though intensity of both the lights are same(I wonder 35W BiXenon HID can easily challenge the 55/60 Xtreme bulb !!!!).........I am missing the HID.

As of now the HID is resting..........while I am gonna check this high wattage bulb out.
Although I am not impressed at all, it is so down the coolness and gets you noticed factor

Yes Mach50, Xtreme vision is not so great... I couldn't able to find a dealer for OSRAM here, instead I would've opted for NB+, which Vishnu & Maestro are using and their intesity is good in pictures too...
Philips is claiming 100% more light, but dont know in what terms they meant..

^^^ gmagesh14, I think they meant 100% more light compared to when it is switched off.

He has patent for its design whose prototype he ran on his Fiero.
He does not indulge in business, but only in research.

EHVAIS forces huge amount of air in to the stock air box, whenever the throttle is opened..........the rpm of the electronic compressor can be controlled with the throttle input.
Meanwhile, with already high volume of air in the air box,the engine do not have to draw air through carb, it just flows into carb when throttle is opened.Hence the engine breaths much more than it can by itself. This combined with fuel flow increases engine effieciency by offering easier combustion and with increase in rpms greater power generation.

The only problem that has remained is that, the carb on my bike has not been balanced with the amount of air flow, hence my bike develops a little lag in the mid-range, as the medium sized needle jet cannot cope with the air flow..........but the lag goes for toss the moment the mainjet comes into function. Our stock GS150R runs the Pulsar 200 mainjet sized at 110 Mikuni spec.

It exhibits a superb rush from 80 kmph to 112kmph which can be unnerving at times or might feel as easy a drinking water while rushing up at that speed.

It had cost my friend and me around 8K to develop and install this for my bike. You can say this is a inner circle or among friends project, which has paid off well.
Hey MACH,thanks for the details... I will keep this in mind when i decide to go for any performance upgrades...

You just mentioned about the Changes in headlight bulb..don't you think changing from 35W Philips Bixenon to 55/60W Philips Extreme(or OSRAM) will drain the battery?(Mine is stock setup-AC)
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

But the dealer from whom I got the Philips Xtreme also sold Nightbreakers and I asked for one too, he said from his experience that Philips Xtreme are real sunlights !!!! The Osram in comparison is nothing but sham........and I bought it on his insistence.

Anyway, I have no complaints about visibility and intensity as of now........but it is definitely dull in comparison to the HID which had on this bike.

My GS's battery charges on custom single phase DC settings and it comfortably has enough juice for another 55/60W on the crash guard(even after EHVAIS using it too)

Hampi is just 70 kms away from my town. However, I don't understand why the meet is being organised at this time of the year. I would recommend visiting these ancient ruins during any cloudy day. IMO clouds are much picturesque with ruins. You just missed "Thane", unfortunately today is bright and blue.

What's the max speed that we can achieve on GS150R without bringing MainJet in to play?

                              My first night-out on GS150R
Last night I had to night-out on bike to return to my town. Traveled 300 kms; weather was great and it was a good ride.

                              • Hi All,

I have only done 95kms so far on my new Gs, pearl white.
I have heard people talking about its smoothness.... but to be very honest, mine feels like a tractor.... more of a diesel engine sound.... Is it because its new ??
I checked the oil in the glass at the bottom of the engine, its slightly less than half of the round glass part. Guys i really dont like the sound... its unpleasant... I havnt rode other gs before.. this the first.....its no where comparable to unicorns smoothness....I wish am wrong and there is some solution to it... Experts please shed some light on this issue....... Thanks.....

PS. There is something like a digital clock in the console...is it a clock.. ?? if yes how to adjust the same for correct timing.
