Dear Vishnu, you too have posted photos of rusted gs150r headlight bracket on this forum. So should i say you are defaming gs150r??Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostA bit earlier he was against the weight distribution. Dazzler, the bike he is to buy is worse than GS in terms of power to weight ratio. The problem is not power or weight and he has nothing to say against any other bike. He is continuously trying to defame GS for a very long time.
As far as i am concerned, I am absolutely not trying to defame gs150r.
I mentioned the pluses and minuses of all bikes without any bias. The only drawback with gs150 is it is a bit heavy. Yes for highway, it is the best 150cc bike by far. But a few kg lighter would have made it the undisputed choice in 150cc for all purposes. As a customer, the more the choice, the better for me.

Yes you and me cannot make a bike, i know. If the bike was so good like you say, why did they bring new version? It is because bikes need to evolve/improve as years pass. So, with new version gs150r, like many others, i too was expecting some small weight reduction. Some expected even rear disc, so what is wrong with that? But i also know there can never be a perfect bike that suits everyone. Each bike has its own pluses and minuses.Originally posted by raviteja@suzuki View PostSuzuki intention is to made a good bike for commuting around the city and also with potential capability of touring.weight of GS is an advantage to make bike more study and planted at high/low speeds ,i am happy with my GS and not having any complaint about it ,event being heaviest ,tallest and bigger bike in this segment my GS returning 58 KMPL in Hyderabad's Traffic conditions and most of time with pillion . i don;t know about Dazzler but i am quite satisfying with GS with decent pickup ,mileage , top speed and with very good roll on figures as well.if suzuki really wanted to made a bike with minimum weight and more power they could ,because they had have wide range of bikes in international markets. weight of the bike never be a problem ,may weak ,short persons may
find it's difficult to park, lift this but an average man will never find any probelm
atlast i just want to say one thing is Suzuki as a one of the biggest automobile manufacturer in the world knows how to make a bike much better than u & me...
But when showroom guys themselves tell people it is biggest and heaviest 150cc and it weighs 150 kg. What should we think? They make potential buyers to go away. They dont mention 134 kg dry weight also and neither does the website. They say you better take slingshot.
When showroom point out about weight, knowledgeable customers automatically compare with other 150cc. If they reduce weight by 3kg, there will be no debate at all. Gs150r will be the undisputed best 150cc bike.
Anyway, it is my belief that higher the power-to-weight ratio, the better the performance. But you guys think otherwise, so no comments on that.
Yes, i know suzuki is one of the top-most bike makers in the world. There are only four bike makers competing in MotoGP, and they are Honda, Yamaha, Ducatti, and Suzuki. The famous kawasaki is not even competing. Let me not go into that. I am here for a healthy discussion about bikes, and do not want to make any peculiar comments against any person.Last edited by antonysg; 10-14-2011, 06:53 PM.

Completed 48000 KMS in 28 Months. Changed Front Tyre. Brought Ceat as MRF was not available. Costed 1,500/-. Gave it for servicing. Changed both front and back disc pads. Planned to change Battery, chain and sprocket during next service. Bike delivering 45 KMPL (Angel Driving) and 40 KMPL (Devil Driving).
Saw the new GS. Like other manufacturers only cosmetic nothing else. Atleast, Suzuki could offer Rear Disc as optional. It is worth the extra Cost because the Disc brake shoe costs only Rs.250 whereas the Drum Brake Shoe Costs Rs.450 Plus 50 Labour. Suzuki is lazy when updating its bikes. Hope the next update GS will have Rear Disc as Option and DC Electricals. With Pulsar Twins excepted round the Corner have plans to change to Pulsar if offered with Rear Disc Brake.

In mine rusting started after i shifted to shell unleaded. so shifted back to normal
Leaded petrol is not available now in our country and rusting is not directly or indirectly related to the type of petrol you fill in the tank.

hi guys changed my race bearing kit yesterday it costed around 400 bucks.. now my beast handle is feather lite......
and asked the ss mech wheter any problem with t bar etc as some of them advised me to check it he said no prob only the race bearing kit is worn out and thats the main reason ur feeling the weight as the handle is tight and when he opend the bearing has worn out unevenly (eccentrically)
ny way now new set is doing its job
i myself adjusted headlight beam and our bike is again different with the head light beam adjustment also clockwise rotation lowers the beam and anti clockwise raise it
I can put any Signatures :P

Initial Ownership Xperience: GS150r
Hi this is Magesh from Chennai, Automation Engineer..
I would like to share my experience with biking and the bike that I've recently booked..
Please ignore my english level..I'm just a beginner..
My biking history started like long long ago so long ago.... Like this only
..
The first bike(Moped) we bought in our family is TVS Champ(Red colour).
Ahh I could remember those wonderful days in 1997 when I went for a long drive with my father from chennai to mahabalipuram (For kaanum Pongal), in consecutive years , and once to chengalpattu hardly 55kms from my house..Very long drive for that vehicle..
I enjoy travelling either it's a short one or longer one..I'm very curious to get a chance to ride the TVS Champ atleast once.,
since I was doing 6th std at that age , my parents might thought I'm too young for that bike.. They never gave a chance to ride..
Then my brother bought SUZUKI Fiero. in 2001.. My eager for riding bikes started more., At this period when my father took the Fiero for a trial ride, I took the Champ and rode it 1st time in streets..
Thereafter I was allowed to ride the TVS Champ..Then in 2002 I got a chance to ride the Fiero, wow what a bike it is..I just felt the meaning of power in that bike..Very Powerful machine from SUZUKI..Good mileage bike too in 150cc segment..
After that Max100R came in 2003 for my another brother (Did tried to do some small wheelies too) and HH Passion Plus in 2006 for my father.,Our first bike signed off from us,Not really we logged off our bike.,
I got very little experience to drive bikes in city roads..Finished my college in 2008 and joined in a company in 2009.. Here started my biking experience.. This field involves full and full site based work..
So I need to travel a lot..Most of the time I'llbe in roaming.. For the first 6 months I used to travel by bus..
Most of the night time any of my family member used to pick me up in late night.. Because of this I took the HH Passion Plus for my work..
From the very 1st day I had taken it., I used to travel a minimum of 70kms a day and at some times it went above 150kms (Up & down)..
At this period for 100rs I can fill around 2.5ltrs of petrol whereas now just 1.4ltrs.,
Days went like a jet.,my passion towards the bike starts to increase more and more with my passion plus.. I'm little conscious about maintenance.,
Cos afterall with my machine only I'm earing & moreover it's my work companion.. Most of the time I stay with the mechanics while servicng..
Some mech's are good and gave some tips and ideas about the bike., but some are not good.,they wont open their mouth to answer even when we ask about the problem in our bike..
When I taken the Passion plus in mid 2009 it was around 16k on odo., Now in 2011 it clocked 50k+ and it yields a 65+kmpl in both highways & city..
In my Passion plus Bore and piston changed recently., crankshaft arm got replaced., clutch plate has been changed twice.,timing chain replaced., chain assembly and chain replaced once..
It's bit heavy on maintenance..while for running cost it's ok.. I never keep my bike dirty ,it's my god and I've to worship him..
In the last 2.5 yrs I did around 33k kmsin HH..
My ultimate aim is to push my bike for a long drive say for 300kms or more., I was patiently waiting for a chance.. But it never happend in my old company..
In 2011 Jan I started business and I'm the BOSS now.,So now I can plan anything., My wish came true in March ,I have to go to pondicherry for a work.
I decided to take my bike this time ,,with a pillon also.. Started early in the morning around 5.30am.. I just took Tindivanm bypass to pondicherry..
Cos my pillion joins with me from Guindy.. If not I would have chosen ECR. Wow Cool breeze is flushing through my face, I was so excited about my dream comes true..
With my Passion Plus I hardly reached 80kmph mark and I maintained an average of 70-75kmph.. Since it was the 1st trip I didn't felt any pains during the travel.
Whereas in the next trips to pondy I didn't find my bike comfortable in sitting for more than 50kms..
My back starts burning and I've to adjust my sitting position too often.., With my bike and my riding style ,it'll take 2.5 hrs to 3hrs to reach pondy depending upon the traffic conditions..
Oh forgot to tell you that my brother already bought GS150r in the end of 2009.
So I was to to take it to pondicherry next time.. Thrice I had travelled to Pondy in GS150r., twice with a pillion and once solo performance..
I felt like I was travelling in a car when I rode this bike with such a smooth suspension and refined engine..
The bike is too heavy for my weight.,I just wiegh 56kgs., But I never felt discomfort to maneuver it city traffic..But I struggle to do U-turn from the stand still..
Yet another wonderful product from SUZUKI..
I'm little hesitate to use others bikes.. So I dont know much about other bikes comfort level.. In my experience this bike is a masterpeice..
The Engine feels like 'never tires' for any long distance travelled.. And moreover when riding my passion at 60k's even a slight wind will change my track automatically..
Whereas in GS150 at speeds of 90ks and above it never happened once., thanks to the extra weight..I meant to say its heavy weight helped to stay stable at higher speeds..
After this experience I thought to buy a 150cc bike which should have a high comfort level., digital console ,atleast trip meter.,, and moreover it should yield a good mileage for its category..
Being a 150cc if it returns 50kmpl in city and 50+ in highways it would be more than enough for me., My search for a 150cc bike started in the last 4 months..
If I'm on net then most of the time I use it for all the bikes and its features., mainly I read lots and lots of owners reviews..
I had read lot of reviews in websites.. And finally I shortlisted Fazer, Dazzler & GS150r..
During this period GS was in last option..
I was totally convinced to go for Fazer because of it touring capabilities and the front fairing which has passed wind tunnel test that helps in better aerodynamics..
I'm amazed to read from the ownersips reviews ,that we wont feel the air blowing on our face in this bike ..
Nice design with little features in digi console and lot of confusing facts about its mileage made me to drop it from my list..
Because at this time Petrol price hit Rs.70 per litre.. But it is the gorgeous bike I could easily own at the price point..
My laptop's desktop screen is full of Fazers pictures.. I even chosen Black and cyber Green colour which was recently launched.
But If the milegae facts I read became true after my purchase then I've to run my business considering only to fill petrol for this beauty,,
This became the end of Fazer in my life..
Where as Dazzler it seems to have good mileage and comfort level., my mind is not set to go for honda.. B'cos of its looooooong waiting period..
And some basic features like pass switch, visor lamp is still missing in such a good bike..
So dropped Dazzler in no time.. SO my final option is GS150r.. Being we've it in our home ., and also I had driven it in both city and highways..I knew its capabilities..
My only problem is ,my brother is already having it and i've to get a different bike...
So I again started my search from the beginning, but it's of no use..it's again saying that it is GS150r for me..
So I wanted to know the techincal side of it, I came to Xbhp ,there in GS150r ownership review a hell lot of hot discussions about technical side
like RR , stator coil, engine oil, headlight & even about the service centres quality in Chennai were been going.. It helped me to understand the bike better..
It helped me to adjust my bro's headlight .,now it's focussing on the roads..
This forum helped me understand that the bike I've selected is opt for my requiremnet.. I saw some facelift photos of GS150r in net..
So I thought to wait for the launch.. Everyday I used to check about it lauch date.. Atlast the new GS150r came a week ago..
Now for the past two days I've been searching it in showrooms (SMK & ABT), even paid advance in ABT to block a Black GS150r.But they are not sure about its arrival..
That answer is not convincing..
Today morning my brother told that there is a new showroom in adyar.. It was opened just 2months back..So there might be a chance of getting newer version..
Half mindedly I went to visit the showroom.,parked my Passion plus under the Adyar bridge and went towards the showroom..
Man, I was shocked and surprised to see a white colour GS150r standing at the entrance.. My mind solely said that i'll get my black GS150r here..
Guess what, there are 4 black colour GS150r readily availbale.. 2were already booked and waiting for their delivery..
The black colour is fantastic (IMO)..I dont see black & orange or black&blue combination there.. They might be due to come..
Initially I thought to do advance only., but later in just 1hr I paid the full amount just not to miss this time..
What Comes in and what goes out..
Yes Suzuki comes in and suzuki goes out.. Yeah, I'm exchanging our 10 year old Suzuki Fiero for the GS150r ..
Farewell to Fiero.. Longlive at your new customer... Great bike it is,easily touches 80kmph's,.78k on odometer..
Oh sorry come to GS150r.,booking is over now only thing pending is delivery delivery delivery..Registration process will go on monday .,
So probably by wednesday I'll get the beast sorry sorry BEAUTY..
Will post my new ride, pics and shall post some intital experience review of it too..
Thanks for reading.. Have a safe ride..
YOUR family needs YOU, so atleast for them be protected and wear a HELMET..Last edited by gmagesh14; 10-16-2011, 12:34 PM.
