Thanks a lot for the information man.Originally posted by nads View Postyeah my bike handles normally as bfore even i was skeptical of giving such a crucial part for centering but my SVC mech reassured me that there wont be any problem... the best way to check this is after u have got ur bike rectified, is ride on a straight smooth road n take ur hands off the handlebars n see if the bike is still going straight, if not the front end is still not aligned properly n u will get uneven tire wear and the bike will behave strangely under heavy braking and the bike will tend to pull to one side...
another thing i would like to point is that in my case the fork was not bent (since my bike fell on the left side n did not have a head on impact from front) n since u have also had a similar type of crash... complete weight of the bike comes on the front handle bar which in turn transfers the weight onto the frame of our bike, which results in a bending of the T Bar or H Bar... so pls confirm with the SVC that what they r gonna straighten or else they will charge more...

@vishnu: saar, I coincidentally enquired about the new GS at my SC today and I was told that the only changes are cosmetic, that they havent received any notification about any new spares for the engine or transmission. But contrary to that, the suzuki website lists "new engine design with SJCS" as a feature. Also, apparently, the much anticipated jump to DC electricals hasnt been made.Last edited by 2strokerama; 10-13-2011, 12:30 AM.

It is a relief that everything including the weight, height, wheel base etc of the bike remains the same and as a result, the riding comfort is not lost.
The rectification of the few minor design flows were done in the latest batches of the bike.
A full DC bike was not expected but a more focusing headlight reflector was. That too seems to be in vain.

why is it a relief? Its good enough as it is, so I suppose they wouldnt try to fix what isnt broken.
Another topic: The initial model(your model) had a mechanism for adjusting the gear shifter height, didnt it? Mine doesnt. Have you tried adjusting it? Is it useful? Im asking because I need to replace my shifter, so, Im thinking of replacing the connecting rod too, with that adjustable one.

One of the major plus points of GS is its riding comfort. Altering the wheel base results altering the riding posture. Further, any attempt to alter the height results altering the centre of gravity and thus the stability of the bike.
If anyone needs to reduce the weight of the bike, he can remove the kick start lever, saree guard, crash guard and lower half of the chain cover. Another way is filling less quantity of fuel in the tank.

Vishnukund is right. I've got the new GSR150R. As per its manual no changes in weight, lighting etc. Only cosmetic changes and very small dimensional changes have been carried out. Engine is not a new design but a updated version of the previous engine. It sounds nice and refined.

The149 kg weight of our bike includes the weight of 15.5 litre fuel, saree guard, crash guard, full chain cover, kick start lever etc and this weight is not reduced in new batch. Kick start lever and crash guard can be removed to lessen the weight. Frame sliders are safer than crash guard.
249 cc Ninja is 175 Kgs, 249.6 cc CBR250R is 167 Kgs and 223 cc ZMR is 159 Kgs, but none is complaining about the weight.
If someone is looking for lighter two wheelers, let them go for mopeds.

Agree with Vishnu !! Weight is not problem for GS. You feel a bit heavy when it is new...After few days U feel it lighter n lighterOriginally posted by vishnukmd View PostThe149 kg weight of our bike includes the weight of 15.5 litre fuel, saree guard, crash guard, full chain cover, kick start lever etc and this weight is not reduced in new batch. Seat Issue
Hi Guys, as you all know that our bike has pretty deeply contoured seat, though it may be comfortable for rider, but quite troublesome for kids seated in-between as they are naturally offered the safe
sloping portion.
Can anyone suggest some non-slip seat covers (or anti-slip motorcycle seat mats) here in Kolkata. Have anyone used such?
