  • Hi all,

SO finally the face-lifted GS is ready and finally the most argued topic will rest in peace.
The new white GS looks different but I liked the graphics of 2011 models.
May be after seeing in flesh I might like it.

SO just back from a refreshing 600 km trip and I must admit, GS is amazingly superb

It didn't complain a bit even when I took her to the baddest roads imaginable (read Off road) and to the hill tops ( no roads but full of grass)
    It was like a dream!!

I now realize why she is awarded with "Commu Tourer" tag.
While on highways she was so delight to ride and I kept a good 80+ all throughout the journey and she accomplished it so effortlessly. Thanks to her super refined engine I could barely hear the engine sound.
Although the top speed I got was 111kmph I am still happy with that figure( keeping an account of me being heavy weight and moderate cross winds) but even at that speed she felt planted and built confidence in me.

But the real fun started during off roading.
No words can describe that feeling. While my friends were stressing out their bike's engine, the immediately available and easily usable torque was very useful and I was climbing hills/pile of gravel with ease.(that too with a pillion)
The average I got was around 45kmpl and I am satisfied with that keeping in mind the roads I took her.

So I am really really happy with my decision and I would recommend GS to any one who needs a complete peace of mind

Also not to forget she is a poser too.Just check out the attached photos.

I decided to reward her with a service at SVC today but they were closed. Will be doing the same thing on Monday.

    • Planning to buy a new bike

      hi every body folks....
I am really impressed by this thread..i came to know just 3 days back and followed most of the reviews and comments.. and it was mind blowing reading the reviews....
I m planning to buy bike may be in a couple of month's time and i have squared down to hero honda hunk and suzuki gs 150r.. i live in mumbai... I was very impressed with the biker's experience with suzuki gs 150 r in this forum and had almost convinced me to go for this bike.

I have only some doubts if any one can clarify so that decision for me will be easier..
Will suzuki after sales service will be as good as hero honda... i assume it must be as since i live in mumbai..
previously i had driven discover 135 for almost 3 years and have a bit of riding sense.. hence need to know the maintenance part... whether this willl be trouble free bike for long use... of course that too will depend on my riding style and how i keep the bike.. but i m skeptical because my discover had given lot of problems during last 3 months....
so guys plz help me out....
      Sanjay

      • Hi friends, today I booked metallic white GS150R at Jain Suzuki, Pallavaram (Chennai) at Rs.73610. The breakup is as following:
        Cost of the bike Rs.73110.
Additional charge for registration outside Chennai (Chengalpattu) Rs.500.
The free accessories are (total cost Rs.1450 approx):
        Seat cover,
        Tank cover,
        Hand grip,
        Indicator buzzer,
        Pillion support handle,
        Full bike cover.
The bike will be delivered and registered on Wednesday. Me any my home minister are pretty happy with the selection. After getting the bike I'll update again.
        Regards.

go with GS...it's a refined machine. maintenance is little. just timely service that's it. spares cost more or less same like Honda or Hero. don't think bajaj spares are cheap than them...i'm sure you also know how prices have increased over the years for bajaj spares.
On service part...don't worry. Suzuki dealers are good in Mumbai. if you get any trouble...contact Suzuki India, they are responsive. do take a test ride and see if GS satisfies your expectations.
anything that can go wrong will surely go wrong at the wrong time and the wrong place

                • I am Really sorry that i forget to tell you one thing vishnu, i am using a regulator called 7812CV between the battery and the LEDs
This protects LEDs from excuses voltage for RR(so called charging voltage from RR which is the only reason(i think) to burn out those LED's).

below i have attached the Images of the 7812 Regulators, you can get one from any electronics accessories Shop.

Note: once again Sorry for my late Reply

                  @All

                  • Thanks msb. I'll post the photos after receiving the bike. The white colour bike looks like a police bike from distance. But if you observe closely, it looks quite good. The metallic white colour appears like white pearl surface and very very uncommon for a bike.

                      • Hi Guys,

Its been 6 days since purchase... but I have ride for only 42 km, since registration no. has not been delivered yet.

The major difference I have noticed is the disc brake location. In most of the bikes, its on right hand side of the front wheel while in GS its on left hand side. May be thats why while Test Drive and riding on 1st day after delivery i felt pressure on my left hand, I thought it might be due to the weight of bike, but later i noticed this difference.

But its not a matter of concern as one gets used to it.

One more thing, my dad has noticed as a pillion that more jerks are felt as compare to other bikes. Is it because this bike is new?

                        • That's not the case....probably because of the wire harness you feel the load on left side....it will gradually decrease with time.....as the wires will elasticize themselves with more handle movement.....

Also check if the settings of the suspension are hard or not.....GS provides the smoothest comfort for both rider and pillion....

@all....can anyone do the honours of creating a new thread in news section for the New GS.....
