“I am in the same dilemma. I had booked dazzler because i wasn't convinced about the low-profile Fz tyre, its mileage, and pillion seat.
But then, honda waiting period is really long, they say dazzler production has stopped currently and next batch will only come in 2012. Honda is currently manufacturing Activa and Twister which are its top-selling models. After Activa, twister, shine, stunner, and unicorn, only then they will make dazzler. So, i am kind of wondering whether to buy this low-selling bike or not, and it has no kicker too.
Meanwhile yamaha have given kicker option for Fz, and this is making me consider Fz again.
But i am still worried about the low-profile tyre. I have seen my cousin's neighbor having to change his fz rear tyre after riding on 250 feet of gravel due to road repairs for about 10 days, while my cousin's old victor, a pulsar, and old apache in the same area had no tyre problems despite riding on the same gravel.
I really think yamaha should give a 130/70 tyre option. The 140/60 is overkill for a 150cc and tyre profile is too low for indian roads. They just cant ignore real Indian roads conditions when designing a bike. Is there a 130/70 tyre option available for fz?”
This is a copy paste of your posting in HERE on 23/9/2011. When each of us bought our GS it was having the same weight and we are using it for thousands of kms without any major problems. Maestro, an active member here, has gone more than 1600 kms in 24 hours on this weighty, ugly bike which has an improper power to weight ratio without any difficulties. He is still using the same bike. Same is the case of Mach50 who like to ride at high speeds. Most of us are fully satisfied with our GSs.
As I said earlier, no one including the manufacturer is compelling anyone to buy this weighty bike and I think it is easier to reduce the weight of the rider than asking to reduce the weight of the bike.
Buying the present GS or the modified lighter one is your personal choice and no one has the right to interfere with it.
The first thing I did was removing the kick starter and saree guard of my bike but later refitted the saree guard due to some legal problems but not the kick start lever, even after converting it to full DC.
From the above posting of yours it seems that you are not satisfied with any of the bikes in our market. Buying a GS then may be equal to buying more problems and paying the hardly earned money for it.

i can very well feel the roughness of engine while riding
