    • Hi all
I am back and this time with better pics and some more experience on my new ride...
      Experiences:
1.This is really a high revving bike !!!! I miss the 3500rpm torque of Zeus on this.....The heavy bike falters and clunks if I dont rev it up in low end rpms.........once above 4000rpm it makes its mark....fast very fast !!!!!
2.I feel the gear shift on my bike is really difficult Its hard but precise.....In my area of dense road walkers, shifting gears continuously and using clutch is mandatory if I dont want to get my bike scratched.........and I find the shift lever is very hard......maybe its due something old owners can help me understand.......
3.Rode the bike a whole day on Power mode...........the bike accelerated like a Karizma and drank two litres of fuel over a stretch of not more than 65-70 km.I dint go over 5000rpm for once even in this mode. What was amazing was...the bike actually did around 75kmph at 4900rpm in 6th gear !!!!! The Eco mode in comparison had much soft and smooth power delivery.
4.Right now.........in the run in period I dont want to get confused with modes and I think the engine should run in freely.....so using the God mode or 'I know all mode' whatever
5.The next thing is................due to the GSXR derived presence.........people are turning their heads away from FZS and looking at me and my ride....thinking probably,I am riding something imported Thanks to the absence of a Suzuki Motorcycles Main outlet in my city hahaha

Now onto the pics better and bolder this time

...This kind of front is found on another bike in India........Karizma ZMR...and outside India, pick any GSXR like 600,750 or 1000 to see it

......anyone can mistake it for a Superbike or a bike above 400cc for sure if shown this bit of pic

People told........its combination of Pulsar,Hunk and Unicorn..........honestly I dint find a single piece of that remark true now.....that I finally own the bike, everyone has to say something so they said.
Infact a man with a new red Pulsar150 with bigger carb parked his bike next to me........The Pulsar seemed like old and repaired !!!!.......beside the GSR even though they rolled out of their respective showrooms simultaneously.......no doubt why many youths(boys and girls both) looked wide eyed at me sitting on their FZS and FZ16s

All I can now say,I have bought a real Suzuki once again after so many years......a real piece of master engineering.

      • Congrats mach50 on your new ride. The photos are stunning. I love the blue shade on our gs. @all. I have connected the pilots to the back light so that I can save some watts for the headlight. A local mechanic did the job. charged 20 rupees. Now the pilots are flicker free. I would replace the 35watts headlight with a 55watts one to see if the light improves. Later I plan to replace the pilots and the license plate lamp with leds to reduce the load on the battery. Raj

Wish we would have such mechs in Pune

          • @MACH50:

The bike looks awesome(as expected since its a GS), congrats on your new bike..

Gears would take some time to settle, just be patient for a few weeks..
and i think even i got 35 the first

            Did you say 75km/h at 4900rpm ???
It seems impossible.. my bike used to touch 60 at 4.5k rpm and 70 at about 5200 rpm initially..
Now the rpm is around 4.5k at 58.. dont know why its reduced.

            @basumataryraj:

Did you observe while the mechanic was making the alterations ??
Is it complicated or anything.. even i want to do the same thing but my Sc recommends not messing with any electricals. they said if any problem arises with electrical components its really difficult to detect and correct.

If its a simple mod which can be reversed without any problems i think even i'll try it and get those LEDs

              • As many people have GS now, I put up a request again:

Can someone get the GS150R's circuit diagram from service center? It is not available in Pune SC (Both swargate & kothrud). This will help in getting HID on GS.

                • Wheel alignment and Front Fork

                  Hi,

6400 kms on ODO and i feel that this bike is really value for money.

Recently my ride has become a little slow and I feel that the front tyre is leaking.
May be i will have get a tube change...

Another thing is i hear a slight noise like kui..kui... when driving below 15km/hr, i think its coming from back shock absorbers..

I read some where that probable reasons might be wheel alignment faltered and front fork adjustment to be done...

Can anyone throw some light on this and help me understand what needs to be done to get my bike back to normal...

Did you try your bike on the PWR mode.......???? I got 75kmph @ 4900rpm in that mode....
This is what had happened,I found an empty stretch.Wished to ride fast but cant keeping in mind the Run-in.So dint accelerated,Just kept switching gears at 4500 rpm precisely, the bike's rev dropped each gear and speed increased, while in the last gear I revved it up by 300rpm more......and lo it was going 72-73-76-74-75 kmph. Now that was it.The PWR mode revs pretty fast !!

As per the gear shift problem,I went to a local mechanic who happens to be our own family mech too just to show the bike.......he's also a Suzuki fan.He rode the bike once, did something with the clutch cable and that made the gear go easy again !!!! Now it shifts faster than before,I think later on it will become fantastic

@photon.....Man ,even my new bike made those noise-that made me uneasy,I took it to the SVC on the third day and they oiled and greased the swingarm axle......and that did away with the noise...no more noise from the rear of my bike check it out

@Anupdas....they are not handing me the manual until registration,so cannot know the Final Drive ratio I just stole in and checked out the recommended tyre pressure, that would keep my ride running ideally till registration. I had the book for really short time.

@all........Thank you GS bikers for your compliments

The sound you mentioned may be coming from the bolt from the swing arm.

                      • @MACH50: Gear ratios

                        Gear ratios 1st to 6th.

                        3
                        1.75
                        1.3
                        1.091
                        0.957
                        0.833

                        Primary 3.476
                        Final 2.929
With great Power(and Torque) comes great responsibility.

                          I guess its a 14/41 then ??? is it...

                            Primary Reduction Ratio: 3.476(73/21)
                            1st: 3.000(33/11)
                            2nd: 1.750(28/16)
                            3rd: 1.300(26/20)
                            4th: 1.091(24/22)
                            5th: 0.957(22/23)
                            6th: 0.833(20/24)
                            Final reduction ratio: 2.929(41/14)

If you know the analysis of these figures, please find time to explain the number of teeth in each gear. So far i know that in each gear the torque is divided. Bigger the gear greater the torque, lesser the wheel speed and vice versa. Personally i feel that the gearing of first and second could have been better

Just now saw rajesh's entry, seems that he has problem with ABT suzuki's after sales service !

GS owners in chennai please suggest which one is good and better, the ABT, or SMK porur or we dont have any choice at all

Arun, where u are getting it serviced.

again this issues hold me. Bcos , my current mechanic with whom i am servicing My HH passion didnt approve GS150 R. if there is an issue with service, i cant take this vehicle to him bcos he will definitely say i told u na
                              SMK Porur is good...
I gave my bike last week to Mr. Kalyan and asked him test it for few days...
I know there are lot of issues in it... He didn't come to a conclusion still, so it means he is trying to help me out, and is seriously taking his job responsibly
So, I think Porur SMK people are far more responsible than the ABT fellows, they actually water-wash only.. When it is dried up, u can see salty water staing here n there

the job is real easy. You would be able to do it yourself at home. I was observing the whole time. You would just need one wire which would run from the back to the front. Tell the mechanic to remove the seat and find the round connector near the back light. Disconnect it and find the wire which is powering the back light. To find it switch on the bike. Keep the light switch on the middle position. Now insert a wire to any of the points inside the socket you have just disconnected. Touch the other end of the wire to a metal part of your bike. If its the back light wire there will be a spark. Identify the wire and cut the insulation. Dont cut the wire in half. Now run the wire to the front and connect to the pilots. Here you would have to cut the wires near the pilots. Tell the mechanic to cut the wire in the middle so that you can revert to the original whenever you want. I mean if you cut the wire keeping space on both sides you will have less issues taping the wire when you revert to the original. Guess this helps. @animeher. Are you using a 55watts bulb. If yes have you just replaced the bulb or used relays or something? Raj
