Ok i'll tell them to tune.. we can check how much they turn the air/fuel screw too..

The drop could be because of chain+tyre pressure.. i noticed chain was pretty loose too..(could push it above the upper part of the ring too)

And ya, my bike hasn't crossed 5k also and i'm giving for 7th service..
I think after 8th and 9th free services i'll stop giving it according to days and give it every 2000 kms only.. the only reason i'm giving it now(according to the days) is for the warranty..
I rode only 200-300kms between the 6th and 7th service.. lol.. realized it only now



UPDATE: i gave my bike for servicing.. had to open my big mouth and say the tuning of carb isn't good..
Now i have to pay 80 bucks for some carb overhauling.. they said they'll adjust the needle and float and clean it properly and give..
Couldnt even talk my way out of it.. spoke to the head of SC too, he said since ur mileage is low, it'll help bla bla bla..

Have any of you actually done this ? is it worth ?

3 days for service

Just gave my ride for service with 11.7k at ABT nandanam chennai. to my total surprise, the SVC said they would be returning the bike by thursday evening - 3 full days for a service The SVC is choc a bloc with vehicles, and it is clear they are having a tough time managing the rush.

Goes to show that suzuki service support is becoming pathetic.. is it so hard to open a few more service centers in a major metro like chennai for a reputed manufacturer like suzuki ? I stay in adyar, so going to porur is a pain, and am left with no choice but to keep going to abt till the warranty period is over

Anyway, the only +ve news is that ABT suzuki has started doing TEFLON coating (using 3M ) for INR300 bucks . So am having that done also. Saw an orange GS which had already been teflon coated, and it looked AWESOME. It had "raj" and "xbhpian" stickers on it. was that you Raj ??

The bike itself is very smooth now. Had changed to shell FS at 10.5k. The engine is revving better and have been able to ride at 80-90kph speeds for hours on the highway with great overtaking performance and no overheating. Only gearshifts are sometimes smooth and sometimes not so.. Have asked SVC to check out the same.

yup that's my bike and i gave it for service on friday morning and it was ready by yesterday evening but today morning around 9.30 i took my bike. coating looks cool . But they didnt do the promised rectifier change from BA to CA said "no stock" and they tightened the chain too much. i sat there for 1 hr and corrected all problems before taking the delivery. Also bought oil filter for 35 rupees. i will change myself. even the manual says to drain the oil when engine hot the SVC themselves wont do that

Do any one know where we can get Motul 20W40 in chennai ??? I asked in one shop in GP road... He said Motul has stopped production ... I just laughed within myself and came out of the shop... He also said that 20W40 is same in all brands....... By the way... Have to give my bike for service sometime this week... so thought will change to Motul...

@augustine09: even the service centre people will say the same thing about oil.. that all 20w40 oils are same.. no use even arguing with them

how long the AGIP mineral will go

Hi Rajesh,Was using the AGIP mineral for the past 700 kms; now the color of oil pitch black and bike is bit rough can I replace the oil with motul mineralI am from TN been in chennai for almost 4 yrs moved to bangalore 7 yrs ago.

I dont know if this is normal with all bikes or its a characteristic of GS only, but oils just dont seem to last long enough in our bike..
I usually use the mineral oils for 1200kms and change.. only once i've used an oil for 1500kms. it was pretty bad after 1000kms..

Guess that SJCS spoils the oil much before the drain interval..

I think BLITZ was able to use petronas for around 2k kms and then it became rough.. but in other bikes i guess the oil has lasted 5k kms..

as per my knowledge & my local mechanic's suggestion ANY oil turns black in the 500kms only in 4 strokes.

AGIP mineral oil manufactured in india by apar industries its just normal oil. you can very well change it if its rough. but you not getting gulf ?

how many kms in your odo ? you can change to synth right ?

go to goodwill agencies near taj hotel in cathedral road. you can get it there.

Okk my 2nd report on Gulf pride 4 T after doing 1k+ kms my gears are smooth and my engine is sounding much better due for 2nd service. Issues i have mainly Chain noise,Knocking sound from engine and Sometimes gear indicator doesn't show the gear at all.

p.s a Help is needed guys i seen that there is some kind of blackish in the fuel tank on cover area i wanted to know is it normal?

Yeah even my mech said the same; but the issue is I can feel roughness even in changing. Gears its rough. Raj my odo says 4100 kmsWanna be with mineral till 10k Will hunt for gulf it that's not reachable will go with motul mineral

got motul 3000T mineral oil

Am not so lucky to get gulf but motul mineral is available just changed the oil.Motul mineral 180 rupees oil change 20 rupeesMechanic shown me the old oil and said its not totally gone but its bad vissualy it seems to be lost its viscosity but doesn't looks like water lmay be it ill last for another 200 kms max

Thanks Rajesh.. Found it on google map.. Will go there tomorrow or the day after... I guess they are basically spark plug dealers in chennai from NGK spark plugs.... got some info from their website... You guys can check it too.

I got my bike back from servicing.. its become pretty smooth.. but it seems like chain is a bit tight.. can feel a drag when i leave the throttle..
I couldnt ask about the carb overhauling part but i got better news.

I test rode a 2010 GS150, and i took the test ride at 7pm so i could see for differences in headlight too..
And overall i found absolutely no difference between my 09 and that 10 model.. the sound of engine, gear shifts, headlight(it was out of focus but brightness was same) all felt just like my bike..

I could only ride for 2kms so no comments about roughness on overheating issue.. but i guess its exactly the same too.
and due to traffic i couldn't rev more than 5k. but it feels exactly the same nevertheless..

The showroom people were pretty concerned when i asked for a test ride, Since they know me, one guy came out with me, sat on my bike, revved a little, changed few gears to check my bike.. then he said my bike seems well maintained too..
