ok. the multi meter I have has option for selecting dc voltage. Thing is that it does not have 12 volts. It has 10, 20, 50 etc. Will it work if I select 10 volts. Have you measured the charging rate ever? In case you have, please tell me the rate. Thanks. RajOriginally posted by ssivakumar.r View Post

Just kidding 4 now, but if this is the case, I 'll be forced to

Y u need to know that????Originally posted by basumataryraj View PostHey guys, need some help. I need to check at what rate (amperes) the battery is being charged when the engine is running at diff rpms. I have a multi meter but dont know how to check it. I know how to check the volts of the battery but has no idea how the charging rate is checked. Thanks. Raj
U can charge the battery in higher amperes too... No problem...
But make sure that u don't feed excess voltage...
Voltage is always measured in parallel..
ampere is measured in serial. ie, the multimeter should be connected in series with the battery and the load (from bike).

thats coz I want to improve the headlight quality. If I want to use a 55 watts bulb to full capacity, I would need to rewind the coil with thicker gauge wire to increase the wattage produced by generator. Or if the charging is good say around 3.5 to 4.5 amp I could simply go for hid after making the bike dc. No rewinding needed as its a risky job. Guying really need some help the knocking sound from engine is so irritating now getting the knocking sound just after 1min of cold start also getting the chain noise complained in the Suzuki website but next service at 3500 Kms will take at least a month for me since currently i am at 1300Kms. So Any help is appreciated. The noise has increased considerably after 1st service.

Hunk or GSX?
Dude, we recommend seeing the buyer's needs. You didn't mention any.
If you want a plain comparison among the two(Dazzler & Hunk), I would say its a li'l too early to speak on that. Let the Dazzler run a bit first. Personally I feel the extra 6k bucks is not huge considering the kind of goodies you get on it(read rear-discs,digi console et al).
GS150R is a very good bike and would be a pleasure on highways(thanks to the 6th cog). Only issue with this bike would be the service network. If that's not the case I fail to find any reason
not to go for this.

yup me too getting the same error and +1 to what akfara said service is only where suzuki lacks. I had a guy who was getting a mileage of 40kMPL when he did his service with the Suzuki guys he changed to local mechanic and he told me he was getting around 50+ after some tuning. And yes lack of knowledge is the main problem with suzuki mechanics.Last edited by adi231189; 06-20-2010, 02:08 PM.

for measuring voltage you can keep that in 20V range, dont keep in 10V.Originally posted by basumataryraj View Postok. the multi meter I have has option for selecting dc voltage. Ya, i did in mahindra truck. that was around 1.4A but big battery.

Guys i got an update from my friend in Kerala who got a new bore and piston due to the engine roughness issue..
He said that it was initially smooth but as the odo reading increases the problem has started appearing again..
So the engine issue hasn't been solved in the new GS's i guess..

I dont know but my new GSR is absolutely snarling and no noise at all............since I used the Zeus before and in a soft mod guise,I am assured of the fact that Zuki engines are hard to fault.Took my bike till 7000rpm in 5th and 6th gear though I am closing in on only 300kms.Not even a thing has changed.Only the carb felt tuned for too lean........absence of low end was felt (2300-4300rpm) but now I have retuned it to a bit richer or the maybe the optimum tune, lets see what happens when I,ride it today again.
Usually factory settings on a new bike remains to leaner fuel mix for better mileage from new engine, but its not optimum. As the engine gets old,the optimum set of carb tune works best
I think major problems with engine harshness here is due to engine oil.The Suzuki oil from SVC are absolutely useless.I would suggest Castrol Active 4T for gentle and daily riders, though it runs out of punk after 1000 kms.For enthusiastic riders like me,I feel good Synthetics is the only way for this potent engine.Synthetics actually registers minimum harshness.People not into synthetics are welcome to use Castrol Power One......but again 1000kms is all that it would last.Hell's Angel

Oh My God !!!
@ MACH50
I think you are breaking your engine in Mototune method
. No one so far mentioned about revving their motor to 7000 rpm
in an early stage. Please share your honest opinion about the engine behaviour after some time(Mileage,Engine roughness.gear shifts). Long debate is going in other forums about the proper break in running methods.
Your comments will be very useful to others
.
Since you have run engine this hard my personal opinion will be to get rid of the engine oil as soon as possible, say now itself
.
