@ Wingrider
You removed the additional rear mud guard rite
? I searched in some forum and found posts by someone who regrets on changing to even 120/80 on Unicorn
. With only 7000 km on 120 section tyre he needed to change both sprockets, drive chain, springs, steel rings, clutch plates and clutch cable
. Bro keep a close watch on these and keep that changed tire with you. If you was not satisfied with grip you should have gone for softer component tire with same specification like Michelin M45.

hey that looks nice, today i changed my tyre too..but i gone for smaller one..
i changed to mrf zapper q 110/80/18..
it costed 2050 rs and 30 rs for fixing it in...
i think u have to widen the gap between ur chain guard for an even broader tyre,i have abut half an inch gap on both sides..kill .... kill .... kill

ok guys, I feel like a fool writing this. Thing is I have a digital multimeter and want to measure the charging current at which the battery is charged at diff rpms. But I dont know how to set the meter to measure current. Please tell me how to set the meter to measure current. Should I turn the dial to point towards '10A'? But this is towards the right side of the meter which is for ac voltage. But i need to measure current in dc na. Please help. RajOriginally posted by ssivakumar.r View Postfor General purpose multimeter:
Set the multimeter in current measuring mode (10 ampere). remove the positive wire from battery, connect the negative wire of multimeter to the battery positive point, and connect the disconnected wire to multimeter's positive wire. Now run the engine, you will get the charging current.
you can connect in opposite way also if you are using digital multimeter.
if the charging current is in the order of milliampere then you can reduce the current range(10A) to lower mode to get increased resolution.

yup......the bike's very powerful for city.......i agree........Originally posted by shamshersingh View Postalmost a week is over after taking the vehicle , Didnt drive much , here and there since it is for my bro,
he observed that between 3rd and 4th gear.. i.e if u go around in 3rd gear , he felt some noise or some thing like 2 objects colliding
so i took the vehicle today , travelled for 10 km couldnt concentrate on the noise which he felt, bcos kodambakkam road in chennai is the first nightmare road.
but i find the bike very powerfull , i thought i am going slowly but the ODO showed 50 normally with my HHpassion i drive in 40-45 with the top gear(4) . advice me what i have to do with GS? bcos odo shows between 10-20 when i am in 4th gear and no knocking ! ! !
when i go for 5th and 6th?
can i drive around in 4th itself ? bcos i found that itself very powerful for city commuting
Shamsher

in third if u get to a single digit mark in your console and open the throttle..then that noise can be heard what your bro is talking about.....
as far as driving is concerned......
1st gear for initial start 1-10kmph
2nd 10-20
3rd 20-30
4th 30-45
5th 45-55
6th 55 onwards.....(this is what i do....dont know about the rest of the people)
now as your bike is in running period.........try searching few pages back...u'll get all details so as to what to do and what not to do!
Nice tyres buddy.........i'll have to save for it.......m planning to gift it to my beauty cum beast on it's first B'DayOriginally posted by wingrider744 View PostHere are the pics. But the tyres look bigger than in pics.

.....btw what are the changes felt by you if any other than pickup as mentioned back.....
its easy.....just unscrew those three screws n even u'll get the same look.....btw it just looks good from back but if u see it sideways even a novice can predict that something is missing.......if you want to keep that look then simply remove the saree guard and chain cover.........it'll give a more sporty lookOriginally posted by allwynvarghese View Posthow did you shape that mudguard?? looks cool
.........it looks aweeeesome man........buttttt beware of people driving behind you....you wont want to paint them with mud.......

i dont think so.......the 10 A must after DCA block....just point towards it and keep the red probe in 10A and the black on as Common.....make sure u connect it in series.......Originally posted by basumataryraj View Postok guys, I feel like a fool writing this. I think you had basic version of digital multimeter, this picture may help youOriginally posted by basumataryraj View Postok guys, I feel like a fool writing this. Well, regarding the problem with sprockets and chain, dont know wat to say. lets wait and see.
the only problem i faced is slightly less pick up and the rear becoming too muddy..including pillions back..
otherwise no problem.
and theres no change in mileage.. im surprised.Rider turned driver, aspiring to ride again.

Mine is quite similar to the one in the pic. But DCA is not marked that well on mine. I was able to figure out eventually. I was not able to remove the positive terminal of the battery and therefore removed the negative and measured the current. At idle it was showing as 0.35 and on being revved it was showing 0.52. I have a 9 ampere battery and I guess the charging rate should atleast be 0.90. I think I will check again after removing the positive terminal. No no.. You dont have to widen the gap. See my picture. The chain cover is still there.Rider turned driver, aspiring to ride again.

Guys is it possible to fix a hugger like FZ or Pulsars to our GS
? Im tired of washing the chain cover, shock ups, mudguards and silencer
, they are getting smeared in mud. Its a pain to see bike all covered in mud

Hi Guys my small rider report after 1500Kms Total Days Bike in Use 20 Days. I have Done the first service as people know So currently riding around 5.5k RPM mostly in highways i haven't completely calculated Mileage but giving 50+ for sure. Problem i am facing in a knocking sound from the engine after few kms after cold start and a a low chain noise.
Overall minor issues hopefully they get solved next time. But knocking sound is really Irritating especially when in Delhi it is like 40 degrees. Today in Rains it was uber smooth and awesome to ride.
@anup +1 to what you said I don't know what to do but they get muddy so quick

@ Adi
When my bike was still new I too noticed the knocking sound
. I raised the question to service engineer and he mentioned that carburetor is tuned a little to the leaner side
to and hence on higher rpm above 5K and on sudden acceleration the air fuel mixture is lean and hence the knocking sound
. A little tuning will reduce the knocking
. But the problem is that we will make it a habit to open the throttle
. If the problem is bugging you then ask the service centre to tune the carb.
I have read in D.I.Y section how FZ's hugger is used in a Ninja
. Likewise can we do some kind of adjustment to fix hugger to our GS
. I think the hugger of P150 will be more suitable because of tire size and dual shocks
.
