  • Has anybody purchased bike cover for GS?

I went to a shop and asked about this, they were not even aware of a bike called GS150R.

I told them it will be similar to Unicorn in size. They have one for Unicorn and one for pulsar, which one do you think will be suited for our GS ?

Check the CO ratings at the service centre & ask them to tune your carb. Also check if your spark plug tip is wheatish brown. This is a sign of good tuned carb.

Hahh haa Haa, unaware of the Bike! Pardon them of their ignorance mate, for even they dont know what they are missing upon.

For the cover, you may get one from the Agency, it would be around Rs. 375.00

        Perfect Fit.

        P.S
: No, I dont draw any commissions from Suzuki Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd.
Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

          LOL mate.

Yes, I too was thinking about buying it from the showroom guys, but felt they will charge more. I wanted to check out what is available in the market and come back to the showroom guys as a last resort. But I am leaning more towards the showroom guys now.

till i reached the nearest pump.. I add correct 1 litres petrol and turn the knob to main and set the trip meter to zero.. (up to petrol bunk 6.4kms.ok)

after filling correct 1.00 litres of petrol.. my bike runs till 55kms and came to reserve .. so that means im getting 61 mileage right.. or is it 49 i mean (55-9) or (55+6)... but to know the correct mileage i have to wait till third service right..
Guess you got the answer, 61..
But try checking it twice or thrice and take average..
Because riding on slope can alter reserve to reserve mileage readings..

61 is a really good figure. i've never got more than 55 in my bike. but i rev a lot too

@csp007chinmay: they dont keep all copies of the warranty card. there should be atleast one in the manual wid you. Theres one in my manual atleast..

Hi joey... I got it from a shop near thousand lights...[The place famous for helmets].. The charged around 250... It was a free size which will even fit a bullet.. It was OK with me...
But there was one problem... If you check this thread quite a long time back, we discussed about the fabric used in the cover which may not be good if it starts to react with the plastics of the bike during rainy season... I also saw that during rains, the cover which I got was not enough water proof.. So I no longer use my cover.. ... Make sure you get a good quality cover even if it costs more... Check it one or twice on rains or put water manually and confirm its water proofness... I want to know if leather covers are available some where in chennai ..

Dont worry Mate! the two missing pages are the warranty pages out of which, one is retained by the dealer and the another one is sent to SMIPL.

And I would love to know the reason why you are hell bent in getting a 2010 model so as to wait another 2 months? do you see anything major changed as per the models. The upgrades that we are talking about like the battery and the brake springs are not model dependent and in any case they were done before the close of the year 2009. Please dont fall for what the Showroom people say, they have a reason to sell what they have rather then asking you to wait. Dhikhawey pay matt jao, apni akal lagao!!
thanks for the information mate.....and i thought the upgrades were made only in 2010 models...so only i was interested in 2010 model...

Mate, how can laugh at this? It would make me go crazy whenever my dog jumps over me and scratches the car door. As much as I love my dog, this is one thing I can't digest.

Fortunately, I don't have to deal with cats. I have to deal with an even greater enemy, DUST.

Yes buddy, I remember that, thats why I am planning to buy it from the dealer, or a water proof one in the market. I will surely let you know regarding it.

To lock the bike you have to fully turn the handle to one side and while you turn the key in to lock position shake the handle a little the lock will fall in place. This is normal. Hope this is the problem you are facing. tc
spacetech buddy, it works like a charm, kinda funny though.

                            • Hi all,

I've clocked around 300 kms so far on my GS, and i'm currently getting only around 30 kmpl.. is this normal?

The bike's pretty smooth even at high (read 60 kmph.. i try to keep the rpm around 4-4.5k) speeds, and gear shifting is getting smoother..
The headlight needs to be adjusted though.. high beam bulb's pointing up somewhere at the moon rt now.. !

Maybe it's because the only other bike i've ridden is the bullet 350, but almost everytime i try to describe the gs, i find myself using the words 'Smooth' and 'Silent' a lot..
I've read some comments abt the rear brakes being to weak, but i haven't had any problems so far.. Maybe the new brake springs in the 2010 model are doin their job well..

Right now, apart from the mileage, everything seems to be on track with most user reviews.. Should i get it looked at just yet? or should i just wait till the first service, which is comin up around 1st week of march?

Congrats on your new bike buddy. Yes the bike is really smooth and stable even with a pillion.

Don't worry too much about the mileage right now.
GS is a good bike and will return 50+ mileage once the engine is set.
