  • Guys can you let me know about the optimum tyre pressure for GS for single ride and with pillion.

I enquired in one HP petrol bunk, they told its 25 and 35.
But I have seen many people filling 30 in the front and 40 at the rear.

I filled 25 and 35, was comfortable with the ride, but is it sufficient when riding with a pillion?
Quit tabulating grudges. Let it off. Discuss it, then trash it, don't recycle it.

I went to a shop and asked about this, they were not even aware of a bike called GS150R.

I told them it will be similar to Unicorn in size. They have one for Unicorn and one for pulsar, which one do you think will be suited for our GS ?
      Where are you from?
I have added cushion and put a new seat cover for ma bike GS150 in pune

      • GS seat is already tall and plush. Any reason to add cushion to it?

I ride with a pillion all the time, my friend says that the seating position is comfortable but the seat is stiff and gives a kind of horseback feel. I'm 5 7" and cant afford to put a seat cover which will increase the saddle height.Any suggestion??

Before buying GS, I used to drive Kinetic Honda it had the same problem . For handle locking, we need to move the handlebar to the extreme left end. Try to turn key to lock position if its not moving move handlebar slightly to right and at one point the key will move to lock smoothly . The same when unlocking, move the handle a little to right simultaneously when the key feels like stuck .

Has anyone consulted S.C for the same .

              • I had given my bike(GS) for 4th service. The service guys had replaced a regulator or rectifier (have no idea wat it is) at Rs.750 under warranty. Now the head light seems way better. Can anyone explain me more about the part??

                • Fuel and Engine oil Recomendation

On page 3-2 in my GS150 manual it says...
                  "FUEL
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or higher (Research method).
Unleaded gasoline can extend spark plug life and exhaust components life."

To my understanding regular fuel has the octane rating 87. Does it mean that Suzuli actually recomends premium fuels like Power or Speed??? But in the specifications the compression ratio is clearly mentioned as 9.4:1.
Then why recommend 91 octane fuel?

Members with knowledge on the matter please comment.
With great Power(and Torque) comes great responsibility.

There are 2 ratings, one is MON (Minimum Octane No.)&the other is RON (Research Octane No.).
The regular fuel has a research method RON of 91, which is equal to 87 octane MON, which is what we call 87 octane.
Your understanding is correct, for an engine with CR<10.0:1, 87 octane is the correct fuel. For 10.0:1&above, you can go with 91 octane.

                    • Thank you, Sarvajit for the quick reply. One more doubt is that, when the bike is at a higher gear at a lower speed, when accelerated the sound from the engine is different. Is that engine knocking? Or is it just the engine trying to cope with the excess load?

If they have changed it under warranty, why did they take 750Rs from you? Didn't get clearly. Also, if they have charged you the amount, you should claim the old regulator back.

They dint get 750Rs from me, Just that the tax invoice said Rs750 waived.

Sorry for the confusion. Now any idea on wat the part does?

It is just the engine trying to cope with the excess load! Better not to stress it too much-I have seen people pulling their bikes away in 3rd gear (halfclutch) from almost standstill. Being in a higher gear does give better mileage, but the speed&gear should be balanced, else the engine suffers a lot of stress.

This is great! Anyone from Pune got it changed from Kothrud Suzuki? I know it gets changed in Swargate Suzuki, but I don't like the servicing there much. In fact, when my bike had some missing screw of the fuel knob, they just removed the same of other bike and fitted into mine!

Last time I asked, Kothrud service center gave some lame reason that warranty may be void etc if they change the rectifier. That's why I need someone's confirmation about them changing it this time.
