Yep, I made those panniers, and they were heavily tested in the Rajasthan trip. 100 rs paisa wasool! They perform wonderfully. Will surely post pics in that thread next week.
Now I am looking for someone who makes saree guards! No joke, I am actually planning to get a saree guard made to the right hand side, above the silenser. Seeing how beautifully anything can be tied over the saree guard, I have a lot of respect for that!

Mileage figure
Hii guys, checked mileage with a pillion of 70 and me 75, got an awesome mileage of 50 kmpl and that too in city riding. Kept engine rpm below 5K mark and the chain was loose this entire time. So I think the mileage figure will go up by atleast 10 percent if ridden alone.
Now I can bragg to anyone with pride that GS returns more mileage than any 150 cc bike.Well-trained reflexes are quicker than luck.........

I said this report after verifying twice. It was fluctuating by 2 or 3 kmpl. .But this time im very sure i have ridden 95 % with a pillion as my friends home is just a km from my home and i pick him on my way to college. Mine is greenish blue, I love the way people look at my bike. Still drives like as if i got it last day.
I think its too early to think for modifications. I want to change my engine oil to synthetic or semi synthetic at the earliest. The second one is to change the head light to projector type. The handle bar position is nice for long rides but at high speeds its little difficult as we need to transfer weight to front, clippon handle will be better and a Big crash guard. My friend wants to wax his 6 month old FZ, so we are planning to buy Waxpol next week.Last edited by Anupdas; 02-26-2010, 09:11 PM.Well-trained reflexes are quicker than luck.........

Guys, This was posted in the orkut gs150r community.
I'm just posting it here so we can discuss if others have the same issue.
It seems pretty serious. the person is from kannur, kerala.
"My friend has one GS 150. From the day he purchased the bike, we noticed a heavy knocking sound when the engine is heated up. So we contacted Suzuki Service Centre and reported the problem. After many fights, they agreed to replace the head of the engine. But even after the head change, the knocking sound continued to be there. So, we reported the problem again and we have given the bike yesterday again for repairing. Then we noticed around 20 GS with the same problem. When we asked the mechanic, he told that some manufacturing defect is there with the bike which cannot be disclosed to us.
So all of you guys, check whether any knocking sound is coming from your engine. The most of the bikes I have seen on road had the same problem."

!!!!!
Even in this community, I haven't seen anyone discussing about it i suppose??
Maybe some tappet noise
and it can be cleared by SC easily....
People say the 2010 model is much more redefined and the engine is super smooth than the old one.....
Even though my bike's mileage is comparatively low, I just love this bike....
Just finished my 6th service waiting for the mileage update

God this is driving me crazyyy

!!!
I don't know if its knocking, but engine is really making some noise and when i ride for some time the engine heats up and it feels as if it is stuck. Now that i have covered 2200 km, its lower than before but still there. Even after this it is returning a good mileage, so didn't bother much.
Last week a person asked about the performance of bike, I said im fully satisfied with it. He said his son got one too, the engine was noisy and on complaint S.C guys replaced cylinder head under warranty and it's still the same. I thought it may be a bike specific one. God, someone please comment on this
.

Same problem with me dude.. when engine becomes warm, it becomes loud(cant really describe it, just feels like the sound is unrefined).Originally posted by Anupdas View PostGod this is driving me crazyyy

And i've been saying this right from first service.
Now i've stopped bothering about it, assumed its normal in all gs150's.
I've complained about this to the SC twice till now..!!!!
Once they went for a 7km ride and said its normal, no defects n all.
Second time they said may be its valve sound and its normal when engine is hot..
But what do you mean by "stuck" ??

No such issues for me regarding the engine. Its really really butter smooth. Yesterday my brother a proud Unicorn owner for 3 years, drove my bike and complimented on how smooth the engine and the handling is. The riding stance is excellent, especially the lack of vibrations.
. But the gears are hard, especially downshifting.
He told he liked it better than his bike.
We let both our engine run idle for sometime, and we felt both the engine sound is pretty much similar.
Strangely the squeaking sound I mentioned 2 days back, have disappeared.
. Will goto the SC guys if it comes again.

Hey Falcon... +1 to that, even I was really worried about that and shared it here even before the forst service..... I thought it'll get rectified as the bike does a good number in the ODO... I've done ~8600 in the ODO and still the problem is there...Originally posted by thefalcon View PostSame problem with me dude.. when engine becomes warm, it becomes loud(cant really describe it, just feels like the sound is unrefined).

I was even considering that change in engine oil grade will do something... But i thought I need to wait till the bike does more thatn 10K in the odo... So i did not change as of now... Planning to Shift to 20W50 or 15W50.... Will do some experiment then and let the forum know of my experience... If it works I'll continue with that and then consider for fully synthetic oil from around 25K kms onwards.....
Now regarding the problem, I do not know what to do about it... During long rides, the sound is awful when the bike crosses 100Kmph mark..
What anupdas meant by stuck may be the choking problem I discussed earlier....Twice I complained to the SC nothing worked... I mailed to Suzuki , they said we'll check the bike and I almost lost hope when the problem did not come after 4th service.... I really do not know what they did to my bike... Now there is litttle choking surfaced again and would have to check in the 6th service.
I would like to have ShadowFax, Animeher, Vishal and sivakumar to comment on this as they should have done quite a good number on the ODO....

@Blitz.
You seem to have had a pretty wonderful time mate, but that doesn't mean you need to punish us poor souls with your "no-paragraph" post.
It seems you have this rough noise from engine when riding at 100 KMPH for quiet a long time.
Anup, Falcon can you please confirm if the engine gets rough at similar scenarios? If not, under which scenario ?
Maybe this is the same for all GS, and you buddies can breathe free.
