  • Rust prob

    Hi everyone....
Have any u guys checked the paint quality of the metal parts behind the head light.
Bcoz the paint in those area is flaking in my bike and rust is visible beneath
Is there any possibility to get it rectified as in case of the fuel tank???

Also, can someone comment on the price of the fiber part of head light visor unit.
Last week I fall from the bike after loosing control on loose gravel and the area above the pseudo air scoops on the left side of the visor got scratched..
Is it possible to get it replaced under warranty or insurance cover..
My GS is due for her second service next week..
    Please comment..

Have any one from kerala(Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad) purchased the net like helmet holder which can be put over the rear seat..
If yes.. Kindly mention the place from where you brought it..

    BTB,Checked the top speed on Palakkad-Thrissur "highway"....111KMPH
But mileage dropped to 45 kmpl (Normal 50-55) after the rough driving. (Not complaining though)

Undoubtedly the noise is from engine, how can i say a tapetting like valves or inner chains as if they don't have much lubrication.
Today i opened the drive chain cover and found that though the chain is well lubricated, but its making a grinding sound. Sand grains were making the noise, I cleaned it with kerosene and then lubricated with grease. Opened the primary sprocket cover and saw a lot of debris, cleaned it as well. Now the grinding sound is gone.
Im from Mannuthy, 5km from Thrissur round and very near to NH-47. Today was harthal here and went out for a drag revved till 90K. I liked the response of 5th gear, 6th gear was very sluggish though.
      Mannuthy Jn??
Do you own a green GS??

Dost, helmet is meant to be worn, not to wrapped in a net like cover and left behind. It may be a bit inconvenient, but it sure protects your khopdi . Enjoy your GSR!

Dude....I meant, for keeping the helmet safe while it is on the stand, not while riding .
I hate keeping the helmet over the rea view mirror, or dangling it from the helmet fastener under the seat.

BTW...Have you noticed the rust problem that I have mentioned???

If you are referring to the black painted metal parts, just go and inform the service centre..
I had a few dots of missing paint in that area, they repainted it with a can of spray paint and gave it back..

its been good for 3 months after that..

Didn't fully understand about the net helmet holder? I have seen many fastening their helmet to the grab rail with a wire lock. In my area if you dont lock it, then its better to carry it all the time .

Its true bro, to be exact its at 3.5K in all gears.
Its because of the engine resonance and every engine is said to have a resonance point. Technically saying resonance is a point at which the force applied is equal to the natural frequency of an object and it vibrates to the maximum. If its bothering you just shift above 4.5K and you will never notice vibrations at 3.5K.
