Filing the FIR:

I got 10 Liters of petrol filled when i took the delivery of the bike. Now the bike is running in reserve. In ON position it ran for exact 230 Kms. Taking into consideration that bike has 3.5 Lts of reserve can i calculate the mileage as below?

230/6.5= 35.5 Kmpl?

Pls advise whether the mileage is ok/bad/worst?

I won't suggest you to check the mileage before first service.... I would say check mileage after first service. But I feel 35 seems to be OK... Not sure though. Wait till the first service and find it out how it goes....

The mileage is bad. Anything below 50 or 45 is bad for GS, even before first service. Get it checked and adjusted.

I don't believe this...I've been spending too much time in the GS thread&then I notice my R15's tank rusting.

the mileage is bad,(worst actually for a gs

)
but check once again to be sure. put 5lt and see how much distance you can go(from the odo reading when it touched reserve, not when u filled)

There is a shop in camp, near cosmos bank. He stocks Osram bulbs. I will search his address from the receipt today, if I could find it!

Any HID buddies? Coz I am planning to import HIDs, so will need one more person to share the pair.

ani - get in touch with Navnish.he has some stock.PM him for more details.Importing will be costly.
I got mine from Mumbai & you can try that as an option too.

Hi friend....dont worry about it....I too had same experience during the first fill.....but it ran more Km in reserve than expected....If I am correct it ran close to 190km in reserve and then the fuel idicator started blinking which means left out petrol was around 1.5 litres....

Now my ODO has clicked 1602 Km and I am getting around 54 km.....during he first fill I got around 45.......and it was increasing after each fill.....Now it is around 54KM.......

suzuki

today i got a call from suzuki after complaining them about rusting of parts they said they will replace the parts.. even my fuel hose is damaged where petrol is leaking in small amounts. i had a doubt regarding the petrol tank. i found 2-3 specs of rust in the neck area of tank is it negligable or they will replace my tank

I don't think the new bikes from the current batch have any rusting issues.

i got the bike from swapna. My bike does not give mileage more than 32, guess I was given a faulty bike. I asked for a chance to select my bike from their yard, but they refused and silently got rid of faulty unit from their stocks. so do insist that you would want to choose your bike. and they took 2 months to deliver my RC book and for that to happen in 2 months i kept calling them twice a week and visited their showroom once a week for a whole one month period. the reason they kept giving for the delay was that rto officer was on leave ... i was like was

on the service front nothing great. i keep complaining about two problems and to till date they have not been able to solve it for me.

if i'm not wrong another xBhpian also got his bike from swapna and his bike too turned out to be problematic (mileage issues. he gets 32-34). btw, have you finalised on buying a GS ?
