on the service front nothing great. i keep complaining about two problems and to till date they have not been able to solve it for me.

if i'm not wrong another xBhpian also got his bike from swapna and his bike too turned out to be problematic (mileage issues. he gets 32-34). btw, have you finalised on buying a GS ?
yes i have..but dont know whether to be or ..will get it on thursday....i went today to choose a bike from the lot, ..but they dint have any and told mine was in godown and told to come tomorrow to check it out....so tomorrow i'll go and check it fully!!and if i find any issues ,i will tell them or demand the bike to be changed!rto leave reason was very dumb of them hope things improve in ur next service
btw wat were the two problems??

"bike's in godown" - they said the same thing to me. they will bring a bike to showroom and say this is your bike. whatever colour you choose, ask them to give you many choices for the same colour and you pick one from the lot, once you do that make a note of the engine and chassis number before you leave the showroom so that they dont change the bike once you leave. dont let them choose the bike for you. doing this you can atleast rule out the external issues like paint, rust, breakages.

one other thing, once they take the money from you their attitude changes completely, this is the case with most dealers in india.

the two issues were mileage and hard gear shifts

they might just wipe off the rust and give it to you if its negligible.
How old is your bike ?
if its pretty new you could wait n see if it becomes worse and then show it.
Its the same case with me too. minor specs.(3 months old) i havent shown them yet.

            230/6.5= 35.5 Kmpl?

Pls advise whether the mileage is ok/bad/worst?
            35 is a less figure;
But don't do any tuning of adjustments before the 1st service...

This bike is a challenge for my temper. I have to wait for one full month so that might complete 1000 KMs mark. Till then i have to ride sane. Now i am not letting the warning light to glow and not crossing 4500 RPM at all. Mileage is a concerning thing as few say wait till first service and few say 35 is really bad even before first service. I had Bullets which used to give me around 32 and that was great for 500cc. Now for this my expectations are little high....

Above someone was complaining that they got faulty bike, i am really not sure what is a faulty bike. One or more than one part is not functioning properly? if correct, by getting those replaced can we get perfect bike?

Bro what made you buy GS after owning Bullet 500 .... Bullet was always my dream bike but due to certain circumstances (My weight which did not get my family's favor for buying bullet), I chose GS which was pretty much heavy and appealing to me. But still I would love to own a bullet. ...
Coming to GS milleage... I used to get 53 during the run-in period when I kept my rpm less that 4.5Krpm... Now after 4th service I get 48-50Kmpl. Which I think is pretty good since I get insane at times when I see an FZ, P150, Xtreme or uni going in front of me and I beat it. If you say you get 35, , bully the delhi customer service centre and get something done....

                  • Finally Booked for it!!!

                    Dear Friends,

When i want to buy a motorbike xbhp helped me to choose the best one.

after a lot of research Unicorn and GS150r was there in my list.

when i gone through this thread GS150r won my heart by your Experiences.

                    i am 5'6" ht and 65kgs weight.

It's my first bike i am little worried about bike's weight and i am confident that i can drive this on mumbai roads.

Finally i booked today (02-12-09) for Orange color GS15r at Malad.

I will get it on 10-12-09. from this day i will start measuring India.

I will post pics when i'll get it.

Regards & Thanks to all of you...

                      • Buddys i have query.

I am driving the bike at 4500rpm at 3rd gear.Suddenly i clutch and shift to 1st gear and roll the throttle.Suddenly the rpm increases above 6000 rpm and i get a vrooom sound. Why is this happening. Is it my inexperience or don't i shift the gears properly.
