I have thought of doing the same but heard that they dont come off easily when you want to remove them. Please post some more info on the Rim Stickers and more pictures if possible. thks

it doesnt depend on idle rpm, I think you checked these speeds at different tyre pressure/different terrain as the EFFECTIVE RADIUS of wheel will change depending on these conditions which may vary the speed of our bike for same wheel speed

              • Engine oil

Today as I gave my bike for servicing I told the SC guy that I had changed the engine oil myself. He was very unhappy with the fact inspite me telling him that I filled 20W-40, JASO MA, API SM mineral oil (from Veedol) as per mentioned in the manual. He is saying that you should not fill any other engine oil, use only the one Suzuki supplies. Though I said it has only been 700kms in the new oil, he insisted that I change to the Suzuki oil, and he changed it. I can clearly feel the difference. The Suzuki oil is not as good. The engine sound is a bit louder, and the smoothness a tad bid down. I could not ride for long though to test the difference properly.

Has anyone faced similar problems? Or is it that my mind is playing games with me, and actually the Suzuki oil is better?.

when i fill 2 lts or more it shows 2 bars for some kilometers then it shows only 1 bar.
again after some kms it shows 2 bars.
so i'm getting wrong results when i calculate mileage. pls help me with this issue.

btw, is it possible to replace handle bar of gs with clip-on handle bar?
                  will it enhance bike's lools?

                    Hi Guys
                    its 1500km on ODO...
                    just going awesome..
                    have some general queries

1.when having a option to drive at RPM of 3.5, 4, 4.5 and 5 which RPM will give the maximum mileage

2.Is is mileage same for a given RPM in 3,4,5 and 6th gear?

3.i will be going for 2nd service soon, last time sm1 suggested to wait and delay servicing as it is free, i did not make much sense to me , any comments?

4.should I go and ask SC guys to change the rectifier, i checked mine belongs to xxxxAA, or i should wait for 2nd service (due in 1-1.5 months).. i have no problem with headlight.. but if it can better no harm

                      4-4.5k rpm gives best mileage.

No. 6th gear at 4-4.5k rpm will give maximum mileage. But don't unnecessarily force bike to remain in 6th gear only. If you can only go till 4 or 5th gear for maintaining 4.5k range, then be in that gear only.

3.i will be going for 2nd service soon, last time sm1 suggested to wait and delay servicing as it is free, i did not make much sense to me , any comments?

If you want to pay Rs.150 extra, its your choice. I'd recommend you to wait for free one.

Ask them to change, as it is now Suzuki's policy.

                        Hi blitz...
Did they really say that ?? Sue that SC guy for changing the oil... When I enquired of chaging to 20W50, my SC guy asked me to get the oil by myself. He also gave me the option of changing it myself or by SC. [Actually i did not coz I'm still waiting to cross 10K or 11K in the odo. I've done ~9200] The SC is only not authorised to buy other Engine oil other than Suzuki. Suzuki Recommends only their own oil. Now the SC can only recommend you for suzuki.. The only doubt I have is that will it void the warranty when you change the oil...?? I doubt that coz my SC guy even accepted for a different grade.... Anybody else faced this problem ??

Looks like they fooled you just to sell off their oil buddy..

By the way, most service centres use veedol 20w40 itself..
I dont think there is any suzuki branded engine oil..

And using your own oil is perfectly ok. infact last time i gave a bottle of shell oil and asked them to change it for me. they didnt have any complaints about it. they charged me 20 for it though..
They only insisted that i get the oil changed at the SC(instead of asking some local mechanic) so that they can make sure level is correct and grade is proper.

Sorry its not me, I think you are referring to the owner of Matha Stores. I googled about helmet bungee, havent seen something like that. It seems like it is used to carry additional helmet for the pillion and cannot be used to keep the helmet as it do not offer any security. On looking the link given, it seems that its readily available in Bangalore, tomorrow i will take a spin @ Trichur town and let you know about it. Cheers.......

Thanks guys for the reply. I wish my SC guy was as co-operative. Veedol oil is red in color and the oil SC gives is yellow in color. I saw their cartons. They come in 5ltr bottles with suzuki logo on it. It's box just says "20W40 for geared wetclutch type" and 20w30 on other cans(I think they use in for acess 125).

Because my oil was fresh red could easily be seen, just looking through the level window will give it away that I was using a differtent oil. The SC guy said, " oil ka grade bahut important hai. tum log sirf 20w40 dekthe ho aur kaunsa bhi dal dete ho(Oil grade is very important, you people just see 20W40 and put it)" Thats when I gave him details of the oil I put. Then he said " let me see, but we will not take guarantee for any other oil". Then i asked him what grade oil does suzuki provide. He did not give me a precise answer. Just kept saying that 'we dont use outside oil. The company directly provides.' But when I went to collect my bike the oil had been changed and I was charged for it.

I used to always like my SC guys, but this incident had made me a little edgy. I do not intend to use the Suzuki oil. I dont like it. At the same time I dont want to get rough with the SC guys.
