To adjust the beam you would need to open the headlight assembly. To do that first you need to open the 4 screws which holds the visor. Then the three nuts holding the assembly. Then the 2 nuts just below the assembly and above the number plate. There is a screw just beneath the headlight socket. You would need to turn it clockwise to raise the beam and vice versa. In the manual there is a pictorial diagram showing the nuts. Hope this helps. Raj.Originally posted by Anupdas View Post

You don't need to open all screws, just have a star screw driver,My SC mechanic take my bike to dark place ,On a running bike with light he put center stand ,he came to near brake pedal and show me a nut( i am not able to see it due to dark but later in the day time i am able to see it under headlamp backside and downside and adjusted the beam but using it it will go up or down ,no left or right side(don't need acually). My beam is some what good and i am using philiphs bulb instead of halonix(stock bulb)Originally posted by Anupdas View PostHii guys, I was excited hearing that RR unit is getting replaced under warranty in some dealers. I checked mine and its already SH727BA, still not satisfied with it.
Many have asked how to adjust high beam, so far no replies on it. Someone please comment about it.ABDUL KHADAR

The method suggested by akfara seems easy so that even a novice like me can give a try. Basumataryraj, you reply was very clinical, but it gives me creeps to open assembly by myself.Originally posted by basumataryraj View PostTo adjust the beam you would need to open the headlight assembly. Can you turn on the headlight while adjusting the screw, or is it done by trial and error method. Since you mentioned about the removing screws of assembly wont it be hanging while you are adjusting it.Well-trained reflexes are quicker than luck.........

Hi Joey,
Honda's dust covers are of good quality material and so it should be waterproof as well. I haven't tested it yet. The cover is silver in color and the insides is soft which prevents the paint from scratches. But it can't prevent cats from getting a good night sleep
. Today morning I found Cats pug marks all over my seat
. Thank god I didn't find any scratches or torn seat cover, else (although Iam an animal lover) I would've killed that cat
. From now on I am gonna use the clip of the cover so that the cover tightly wraps the bike.

you are right. The assembly would be hanging while doing that. I had to put the assembly back on its clamp to check the beam. Trial and error method as you said. I also tried the way akfara suggested. However, the screw was very tight. I was not able to turn it the first time. Later I was able to do so without removing the assembly. You can use a Philips H4 35/35W bulb. The bulb is a 3 pin bulb and is similar to the kind of bulbs we use in car.Only difference is the wattage.Originally posted by basumataryraj View Postwhich philips bulb are u using? What is the wattage? Finally the cost? Raj.
Anup,
You need NOT open the headlight assembly.Just check the manual and as Akfara stated you can adjust the headlight beam.It is not a trial and error method. You can adjust it while the headlight is ON.Try it for your self.

How much is the cost of that Philips bulb ?
If we change it does it void any warranty ?Quit tabulating grudges. Let it off. Discuss it, then trash it, don't recycle it.

My bike is now starting to give squeaking sounds at the rear suspension. Its very annoying as it comes even in slight bumps.
Will have to go the showroom guys and fix this one as well as the headlight high beam adjustment (If I couldn't do it myself
).

I saw 5 GS, on my way to home yesterday night, thats the max I have seen is a day (30 min drive from sanatorium to Medavakkam). Thanks to the unique tail of GS, you identify it the second you see one, even in heavy traffic.
Slowly but steadily GS club is growing.
Sometimes it really embarasses you when people keep staring at your bike in signals, especially when the pillion rider (in a vehice ahead) turns their head and look.
I am certainly loving my ride with GS.Quit tabulating grudges. Let it off. Discuss it, then trash it, don't recycle it.

Strange why you any sane person would open up the head light assembly just to adjust the beam. Otherwise it can easily be done by following the instructions in the owner's manual.
Towards changing the stock Halonix (Halogen) with another of some other company, I really wonder if it would make much of a difference though. Till we can do something about increasing the wattage too. Further, the restriction that one faces with the Bikes whose headlamp works on AC is that we cant simply plonk a higher wattage bulb and get it going. We have to get more current in the unit so as to derive the maximum benefit of running a higher wattage bulb, else it would be as lame as getting a boarder tyre without changing or upgrading the power of the vehicle.
One of our mate has wonderfully put up a 60/55W Phillips Xtreme and disconnected the Pilot Lamps and I hope this simple setup is going to yield good results. Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

I think the squeaking sound is coming from the swingarm bolt (if I am identifying it correctly). Its the silver coloured bolt right on the back of the kick lever. It needs to be removed and lubricated. I had the same issue and the sound did not go even after the mechanic removed the suspensions. Then he came to know of the issue. You should be able to adjust the beam urselves. You would just need a long screw driver to do it without removing the headlight assembly. In the manual it says Headlight 12V 35/35W (HS1). I understand the wattage is same as the bulb you mentioned above. But what 'hs1' means? What would be the cost of the bulb you mentioned? I think the main issue with headlight is that the high beam is scattered and therefore does not light up the road well. Had there been a way to make the beam more focused I would have been happy. It is HS1.Cost will be something around Rs.100-150.If you can get an OE bulb which has MADE IN GERMANY mentioned nothing like that.
Changing the bulb will not void the warranty as you will be using the same wattage bulb.
If you have good relation with the SVC the way I had,I even plonked a 55/60W bulb but did not get the desired output.
Now you might try it with the new regulator & disabling the pilot lamps.Maybe you might get a good result.
