Thanks again. I never stress the engine. But occasionally when my uncle wants a ride on my bike, he upshifts too quick. I hate it when he says I have ridden bikes for two decades now, you dont teach me.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostIt is just the engine trying to cope with the excess load! Better not to stress it too much-I have seen people pulling their bikes away in 3rd gear (halfclutch) from almost standstill. Being in a higher gear does give better mileage, but the speed&gear should be balanced, else the engine suffers a lot of stress.
With great Power(and Torque) comes great responsibility.

thats a very good explanation. I had an idea what the RR unit does but did not know such details. I called up my dealer in Guwahati and enquired if I can get it replaced. The person was very patient and listened to me carefully. He was not aware that the unit is getting replaced in other dealers in India. He promised to mail Suzuki and followup with me. Till then I am keeping my fingers crossed. @osfreak - did the headlight improve considerably or is it just a slight improvement. Also please quote the name of the dealer (with city name) where you get it changed. Raj.Originally posted by BLITZ View Post
The bike’s generator produces alternating current (AC). (the generator is on one end of your crankshaft). However, the battery and bike need a direct current DC charge (that is a fixed steady input voltage) - that's what the regulator rectifier does. The regulator sets a top limit to the voltage that goes from the generator to the battery (i.e. fixed at no more than 14volt for a 12 volt battery) and the rectifier converts the alternating current of the generator into the fixed DC voltage the battery needs. The old part no. is SH727AA. The upgraded one is SH727BA. The new one powers the headlight better.

Great explanation there Blitz.Originally posted by BLITZ View Post
How do we check the regulator number in our bikes ? Will it be mentioned in the owners manual ?
If its 'SH727AA', can we ask the SC guys to replace it to the new one ?Quit tabulating grudges. Let it off. Discuss it, then trash it, don't recycle it.

Look closely on the pic I posted. You can read the part no. on the RR unit on your bike. Part details or part nos. are not mentioned in the manual. Suzuki is changing all the old RR units on all bikes under warrantyOriginally posted by Joey View PostGreat explanation there Blitz.

. The circular might take some time to reach your area. Wait for some time, and dont get rough with your dealer. We need their co-operation for a long time to come

you can find it on the left side of the bike. Just look to the left of the left hand 'side panel'. You will find it. Raj.Originally posted by Joey View PostGreat explanation there Blitz.

I told them it will be similar to Unicorn in size. They have one for Unicorn and one for pulsar, which one do you think will be suited for our GS ?
Hi Joey,
I would suggest you go for the Honda Stunner's Bike Cover as it is the largest cover available. I have the same. It covers the bike very well. You could get it from any Honda service centre for around Rs 280/-...::<<Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly>>::.
