    Not again!!!!!
I thought 2010 model is error free....
Maybe Suzuki is making all GS different and doing a case study

    Ok
Did u get ur Carb tuned for mileage anytime...
maybe thats why we lack power???

Bro I can see how frustrated you are. I've been reading about your mileage issues from even before I brought my bike. I've noticed how optimistic you were for a long time and then gradually getting frustrated. I think you are too good and polite to the SC guys. While under warranty it is their duty to see to it that the bike delivers at least a performance as best as any other GS150R. So when we have here right in xBhp, (including me) who get a better mileage than you, you can demand them to do it. If it doesnt work politely, be a little harsh. Take someone with you who can talk it out well (like I do sometimes) if you are not very good with it.

Come on man.... were't you the one who felt like having sex with the bike.. Its just about tuning and probably bad engine oil. I can bet the 2010 batch has almost all major issues rectified. I'm almost 100kilos and I dont feel the bike lacks power to lug me around the city even in traffic. Just make sure you dont upshift before 4000 RPM.
With great Power(and Torque) comes great responsibility.

Pickup has also reduced to a great extend, i see even a scooty pep going effortless in front of my bike

mathew, even me face same regarding mileage after the SC from pondy tuned my bike, again i faced the same problem with R to R,when i ask in phone he told me ,check with full tank then fill it after 100km and check mileage but i did it(tank full consumed 20.5ltr) but i again refilled after 221km instead of 100km he told, it consume 4.21ltr means 221/4.21 =52.4kmpl which seems good one, i report to him, later again i check it with R to R by 4.30ltr it went 233km means 54.1km, then after reserve went for a long drive to kumbakonum which is 60km from here( drive 60kmph speed) with 2.15ltr after return it still run and finally got reserve on 136km means 136/2.15 =63.2kmpl
somewhere in this thread i read about malfunction of R to R knob....
So i request u to check only once tank full then run for 150km or 200 km then fill again and check, but make sure ur tank full bcos it takes lot of time to fill last 2 ltr takes 2 to 3 minute to fill( bcos of hidden area's inside tank)
share ur exp ,after u do, IF u do
just given for 5th paid service at 8500km
Ps----- I don't face any power lag problem
but have choking problem if i drive more than 4.5k rpm

well, i had faced the reserve knob problem after 4th service..
if i filled 200rs petrol when it went to reserve, it would go smoothly for 100km, and the next 100km, it would jerk and turn off in main every 10km, and i had to shift it to reserve, ride a little and put it back to main..
last few days it seems to be ok though.. i've gone 150km with 200rs petrol in main position..

my bikes pickup is pretty fine though.. i've overtaken pulsar 220's and luna's have overtaken me too.. depends on the riding mood

And i was in contact with the person who posted in orkut,
his bikes problem was "engine noise when hot and knocking problem" which is probably what we are facing too.. he said knocking is slight and can be felt during idling when engine is hot at footrests.. otherwise its mainly the noise only..
and i think his mileage was little less too..
These were the only reason for him getting a new piston and bore..
(he had to mail suzuki people to get proper response and bore replacement)

I wish i could explain this problem to my SC and get a new bore and piston too, but they just dont listen.. they say its normal and there is no defect..

Dear Mate, I would recommend sticking to the company recommended oil (castrol 20W 40) till the expiration of the warranty period of your vehicle. 10W 30 is not the recommended oil for GS150R, as it is for the Suzuki access 125 and Zeus/ Heat.

Using a a non-recommended oil might void the warranty, should you need it. Think about it.

              all cheers

When my bike was giving off a lot of vibrations, I tried to explain to the SC guys but they did't get it. I went to the sales side and said I want to test ride the GS, and first confirmed my doubt with myself.

Then I picked a time in the afternoon when there would be very little rush at the SC, rode the bike for some time and then went to the SC, called the service guy out, told him I had to show him something about the bike, and made him sit behind the bike and took him for a ride. while coming back I asked him to ride. He was instantly convinced of the vibrations. He took the bike in and did something and the vibrations went away. I assume loose chassis nuts was the issue.

IMO convince the SC guys there is a problem, show them how other GS compares(the TD bike is always in good condition, show them the difference), demand that they rectify the problem, pester them and let them decide what to do about it. If possible change your SC if there are others around. If all this does't work go to suzuki wbsite lodge complaints, call them up.

                Best of luck.

Thats a good idea.. i should try comparing it with the other bikes over there.. atleast they'll feel the difference..

But riding with them didnt really help, did that already and he said its fine right.!! I'll make them ride the TD bike first this time..

                    mathew ji

same problem here... same valve clutter noise.. it is like something is hitting the bike hard when the engine is revved....

sometimes the enine is butter smooth.. park it for half an hour and restart - it becomes worse than a share auto ....

dont know what to do... tied with work per se and not able to take to the SC ..

anyways too tired of going to them again and again.. suzu have to give people like us a huge sum of money for our time lost by frequenting the SC...

realy frustrating.. also the mileage is around 42 kms/litre....

                    • Now you people completely scared me away from the GS. Rusting parts, piston changes, valve clutter noise, low mileage, pick-up issues; I am definitely not liking these from one of the best bike-makers in the world. Seems Suzuki is not interested in two-wheeler market in India.

                      God bless Suzuki.
