        Bike Starting Problem

From the day one my bike refuses to start if left idle for a day or two.The engine starts after numerous kicks and self-starts using choke doesn't help ...
Here the weather is not cold very its actually warm in the morning..My brothers unicorn and friends fazer starts with a max of two kicks even if left untouched for weeks...

Am I the only one experiencing this problem? Why is this happening?

I am facing a similar situation too. It's been two months since I bought my bike, and since the morning temp here is about 20 degrees (it's monsoon), the bike needs to be kicked a couple of times to wake from the overnight sleep. I think experimenting with a new spark plug could help. Anyone with possible solutions?

Try 10W40 oil and see if that makes a difference.

I doubt if changing engine oil grade will help you in this issue.
I don't own GS, but lives in Chennai.
Bike shouldn't show any starting issues in our city. Atleast you should be able to get it started easily with choke ON.
Are you using choke for cold starts?

How old is the battery? Check its water level. Also check the condition of Spark Plug.

Will the prize of GS150R will come down after the release of Gixxer? Currently GS150 costs Rs.82281 on road Chennai.

I didn't have the problem everyday, but on some odd days. During one of the regular service, I shifted to Shell Advance (10W40) and from then on I didn't have this issue. Also during that service, I changed my spark plug and refilled water levels in the battery. That cud have solved the issue. Hence, as one of the other member reported here, please do these things and see how it works.

Wow...when I got my GS in 2012, I paid 72.5K. That's a huge raise in the price for the current model. On the other side, nothing had changed in the bike

Thanks for the suggestion, but we cannot change oil during warranty preriod Right?!? I mean change the brand or use different type or grade.

Thats one of the way for dealers to wash their hand's off on warranty claims. AFAIK, Suzuki has a tie up with Castrol and source engine oil from them. That oil (i think its mineral) goes well with GS without any issue, on normal conditions. If your bike specifically has any issue (that is related to engine oil) then you can try other brands as well. Best i tried so far are shell and motul.

I guess SVCs choose their own provided it's within recommendations. Castrol, Idemitsu are the ones mostly heard. One particular SVC had Castrol Power 1 15w40 Semi-Synth.

Suzuki Genuine is Idemitsu in different jacket I believe.

So, not all of them are Castrol & Mineral.
