Drained the oil and checked its clarity. Couldn't find any suspended particles nor discoloration. I'll check it again after two days for any change

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Today removed the front fork of my GS for changing oil. Currently I have dismantled the whole fork and in trouble re-fitting it. Problem no. 1. First of all there are two copper sleeves one in the fork pipe and other in the fork slider. Both of this copper sleaves are coated with some silverish substance. When i removed it this outer coating got scratched and copper become visible. I don't know what to do now.
The other side of the sleeve has the coating.
Anybody know about this?.
Please help.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Depends on your weight ajd you roomoes weight. Well jokes apart, honestly the bike is smooth. I have travelled with my wife and our combined weight about 200 kgs and the bike doesnt gasp.Originally posted by prathappa View PostSorry guys, I am not a GS150 Owner, But I maybe soon as I like the looks and goodies of this bike very much. Maintenance schedule for firsy 2 years irritates me... once in 50 days. Thats a lot of money.
And the service is average.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Fellow GS owners,
I had my first service done a few days ago.
There was a problem with my bike lock since the day I'd bought it. The locking is not proper when I turn the handle to my left.
The key is struck at the middle, like it's jammed. And, then, I'll have to move the handle a bit to lock it properly.
When I turn the handle to my right, the locking is fine.
Initially, I though it was due to water inside the lock, but later found out that's not the issue.
When I asked about it with the service guys, I was shocked with the answer they gave me.
They told me that, it's the way the GS150R bikes are. It's just not the issue with my bike.
I felt it completely absurd. And, I'm 99% confident that, they said that just to avoid replacing the lock set with a new one.
Or, they don't know why that issue is coming up.
Or, they know the issue, but don't have any intention to do it for free.
(as it's a free servicing)
Please tell me that, whatever they said is completely absurd.
My doubt is that -
When I turn the key to ignition-ON on my bike, I can see that the key is aligned to a little right, rather then being straight.
So, it means that the lock set is not positioned properly (it is positioned to a little right).
Any chance, this is the reason for my issue?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Well, if it does feel heavy, then definitely, there is less than recommended pressure in the tires.Originally posted by prathappa View PostI will be riding with my roomie at the back most of the time, will it feel heavy?
If not, you'll never feel such thing.
Except, in a case where, you are out of petrol, and you'll have to pull your bike.
Trust me regarding this point, bcoz, daily, 3 people are travelling on my GS around 25kms - Myself, my wife, and the baby inside her tummy

Re: Suzuki GS150R
From my experience, the handle does not lock at extreme left or right tilted position. The lock engages properly a bit before but the distance should be the same on both sides.Originally posted by RajendraNath View PostFellow GS owners,

I remember the key to be straight during ignition.

It's definitely not the case of extreme left position, bcoz as I said, when I give a little jerk kind of thing, the locking is happening.
Anyway, I'll ask them one more time about this. Then, I'm planning to get the lock position adjustment done by some local mechanic.
Or, I'm even planning to do it myself.
How hard can it be? It's just removing and re-aligning the lock.

Exactly, my question as well.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostFirst of all, thanks a lot to you and Sparkot - Now I know how to replace the sprocket-chain set ! And why are you still using IE?
Why still IE?

I remember seeing the Ignition Key slightly aligned right on my test ride bike. And i confirmed it by googling for GS150r pics in Google.Originally posted by venkan12 View PostFrom my experience, the handle does not lock at extreme left or right tilted position.
