My arms can feel all kinds of undulations (potholes, speedbreakers) through the handle bar, and as a result, I'm getting slight shoulder and neck pains these days. What could be the problem? Am I imagining this? Or, has the GS' front suspension been designed to be stiff unlike other commuter bikes which have soft setups.
One of our xBHP members(2strokerama) also complained about front suspension stiffness after a fork oil replacement. He was following it up with ASC/SVC guys. Don't know how it turned out.
    Vishnu says it's 145ml oil per fork;
how much did they put in your's bike forks and what grade was it?

Try to find another GS around and ride it over same rough road couple of times. I hope that GS owner will understand the situation.

Regarding the keyhole, see if you can hack(reverse eng) it. You can check with ASC/SVC guys easily as they might have seen such cases earlier. I'm unable to recall(trusting my memory) this issue being mentioned in this thread before. Nikhil had a tank lock problem though.

As Ignition key is same for Tank & under seat locks, if you opt for a new ignition/lock then you'll end up with two in your key bunch.

    cheers mate

Hey guys am back after a long time posting in xbhp although i follow all the ownership experiences. Planning to get a gs150r in chennai. Mostly i will take a second hand one.
      1. What are things which i should check in my bike when i go to the dealer??
      2. Parts to be changed after getting the bike??
      3. Please post the pics of the bikes in which the headlight assembly and the handlebars are changed.. Am planning to modify it immediately after getting the bike. I prefer a round doom or a semi faired after market fairing (chinese) and a two piece handlebar which gives a sporty stance.

I would love to have the body paint as stock if the bike i get is in a good condition else what will be the cost of fully body repainting?? Has anyone in this thread done it??

Perhaps the mechanic may have filled more than the required maximum of 145 ml of oil. Get it checked at the SC and drain a little if necessary.
Before that, check the tire pressure too.
For the key problem, use the second key with you or make a duplicate key.

Why are you planning to buy a second hand GS and that too from a used vehicles dealer? Either go for a new GS or save a little more and wait till GIXXER 150 with a different engine becomes available.

Filled air from a tire dealer yesterday and asked him to fill 26 psi in front tire and 33 in rear. When checked this morning, it was 35 psi in front tire and 38 in rear.

            Folks,,

there is an issue in my bike. pls check the below video.

I am able to lock the handle turning it to both sides. But the problem is when locked in the left side, the handle can be pushed as if its not locked. But there is no problem when locking to the right side.

guys, pls let me know if the lock can be repaired.. or does it have to be changed? if it has to be changed, can i do it under warranty ?

waiting for quick reply's as am going to give it for service tomorrow morning...

Nikhil. I strongly suggest u to go for a warranty replacement. You know whom to call if the service center does not budge.

                  Hi all,

I am currently running FE trials on my bike. Keeping some aspects constant like tire pressure, petrol station, quantity of fuel filled, etc. I am doing a reserve to reserve method with 5000 rupees worth of fuel. In Bangalore, for 500 @77.86 rupees per litre, I get 6.4 litres of petrol.

Now here is the first scenario

                  1. Normal riding scenario where I change gears between 5K to 6K RPM and sometimes even hit 90-100 KMPH. 6.4 litres of petrol lasted me for about 322 kms giving me an FE of 50.3. On the ride condition, I rode the bike on varying routes and distances for 6-7 days. I had been through, good roads, bad roads, no roads, smooth highways, etc. I have driven in traffic jams, stop and go traffic, no traffic @ midnight and through a 6 km pile up.

Having gone through all this, 50.3 seems to be an impressive fuel economy rate on a 150 cc bike

                  2. The second trial is currently underway with the same amount of fuel. I would have to wade through similar circumstances but the variables are now restricting myself to upshift before 4.5K and not exceeding 4.5K RPM. This ofcourse is taking me a long time to reach my destination however I want to check the FE and understand if it is worth the wait.

Will post updates once this trail is complete.
                  Regards,
                  Venky

Very bad that they did't have the GS150R for display nor test drive vehicle. Very upset.

Any one want to sell his GS in HYD? above 2012 model

We both know physics is all about approximations which comes with tolerance esp when it comes to economical level.
Did you happen see the meter/gauge while the personnel filled the air?

Can you throw some light how GS's XTP actually works? i.e with little throttle open?

Nothing beats the 100ml test can method on a long empty road.

Nevertheless, it'll be an approximation inclined towards your way of usage. I bet Vishnu can reap more average from your bike.

Oh yes. I agree. I dont intend to judge the bike's fuel economy. I only want to know what I would get based on two different ridong styles.

I did these kind of tests with my previous 100 cc bike and got 65 kmpl on any kind of riding condition hence I am not known to get a lot of fuel economy from bikes.

I went to service center satrday morning and when i told them about the handle lock problem, they said its because the lock is loose. Also they said it need not be replaced. Other issues were qweek sound from disc break and hard gear shifts.

Now, the problems are solved. Lock is perfect . Disc break sound is gone.. the bike looks like new (dont know what they did this time, normally their water wash is not that great..)..

                                The gears are still harder..

                                it was 8th free service.
                                total cost : 183. (consumables : 60 + water wash : 40 + chain lubrication : 60 + two nuts : 2 rs + tax )
