Well I do havethe unique login name and I am the proud owner of the same Gmail Id as well

Any specific reason as to why a new bike would be better? I have had my regular service guy check it out and he seemed to be ok with it.

Also does it make sense to buy a new Gs 150 r with the Gixxer coming out.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Suggested a new bike only for the ownership experience of it. Personally I do not take second hand vehicles as I care for my vehicles a lot and I wouldnt be sure if they had been cared for in a similar way.

Also the warranty lapses in 2 years and this bike u r suggesting is past warranty period.

Please feel free to go ahead if u hav done ur homework and ur happy with the purchase.

        Thanks Venky!
Actually I find the 50 day service of a new bike a bit of a hassle as I dont have a good service center near my work area..

Also If i decide to go for a new one, is it still a good decision in light of Gixxer...?
To be Honest I am a bit confused if I were to get a new bike and Am planning on putting in a post in the What Bike section....

^ Even I would vote for a new vehicle any day. And yes, it does make sense to buy a GS even if one has a Gixxer available in the showroom - TD both bikes (when Gixxer arrives) and choose or go for GS if you like it.

@ nikhil and sparkot, gearshifts on mine gets very hard if the journey is mostly stop-and-go. Gearbox is fine with less stressful runs. BTW, nobody here tried HDEOs like Mobil Delvac or Shell Rimula series? Will fill Delvac 1300 Super tomorrow.

its been quite long since i have been for a long drive. Rest of the time, am driving for just 10 kms one side in high city traffic.. so the gears have to be shifted every 20 - 30 seconds or so.

never heard of HDEOs before.. just googled the oil names you mentioned and came to know that they are for heavy duty diesel trucks/engines. .

i guess yours is still running with a petrol engine and just 150cc power.. just kidding

I observed that gears get hard if I ride at lower rpms and change frequently. Of freely revved, the gear changes were a delight.

              Has anyone else observed this.

Actually I have this issue in my bike. While driving in thick traffic, the engine gets heated up and that combined with lower RPM the gear shift is very hard for me. But once I move out of the traffic and upshit on upwards of 4K RPM, it become manageable thing.

I reported this multiple times with SVC but nothing had happened till now.

I have a problem in GS150R and it's a problem with idle RPM. The vehicle gets switched-off because of low idle RPM. In fact unless the vehicle is driven and if the vehicle is just stand still the RPM just goes to zero and the vehicle gets switched-off. I tried adjusting the screw for RPM adjustment but nothing happens and the problem persists. I just give a slight acceleration while in neutral and prevent the engine from shutting down.

What could be the way forward? Don't want to get ripped-off by any mechanic/service center?

Best would be to visit your suzuki authorised service and let them check it , possibly the carb may need a minor tune-up etc - better not to tinker with it idly yourself unless you know fairly well what you are doing .

I think the word we're looking for is RevMatching. Matching the RPM of engine to road-speed before you let go the clutch. Most of the sounds you heard might be during downshifts or from 1 to 2 shift. If I remember, this has popped up before in this thread.

They say RevMatching(blipping/goosing for downshifts) takes time to become natural as braking.

If I'm right(I'm wrong most of the times), then try to be conscious when you shift gears, esp down.

A question to anyone who has done DC conversion.

I have been looking to upgrade my car headlamp to a higher wattage. I have read in some team b threads that it causes blackening or hazing of the reflectors due to heat from the higher wattage bulbs.

Has anyone uaing 60/55 bulb faced this problem in the bike.

Finally it happened. My GS 150 crossed another mile stone 1,00,000 KMS, yes you read it right. Come this June 30, 2014, my GS 150 completes fifth year of ownership. Every kilometer has been joy to ride this bike. Never has it let me down anywhere. Regular servicing that's it. The ODO at 1,00,000 KMS. Will post pictures shortly.

There were two times when I had to push the bike. First time it was due to front wheel puncture. pushed the bike around 3 kms and reached home. Second time the chain snapped. Blame on the incompetence service of Dr.Rajkumar Suzuki. Pushed the bike about 500 meters. Next it was downward slope. Reached my friends home, borrowed his bike and reached home. Learnt that they never changed the chain during the last service. Changed the service center.

                          Milage = Reckless = 35 kms; smooth = 45 kms; highway around 55 kms

recently i did a service in svc in pathanamthita, kerala ...One thing i noticed was that the oil that have been used in the svc have changed from 20w40 to 10w30.Did suzuki change the recomended viscousity in all svc or its done only in this svc?

For about 5000kms i experienced harder gears but after having done more KMs my gears became smoother.ANd now its butter smooth.

10W-30 is for Access 125; not GS. The SC filled this thinner oil because the recommended 20W-40 oil was not in stock; I guess.
Better replace the oil now with any 20W40 oil you like and, in future, change the oil yourself as many of us do.
