Due to my negligence, I went over a pothole at excess of 70kmph and resulted in my front alloy wheel getting a small outward bend on the rim while the rear alloy got a bit bigger (about 2.5 mmm) outward bend on the rim. I don't feel any wobbling while travelling at all speeds. So, will the rear wheel bearing experience uneven wear? should I change the rear wheel altogether for a new one?

I dont think alloy wheels bend. I beleive they can only crack. In your case, it is possible that the wheel beading moght have come off. Maybe taking off the wheel and putting it back on the rim could sort out the issue.

        I may be corrected.

Alloy wheels do bend, generally low tyre pressure and entering a pothole is a perfect recipe for the same.

There are guys who specialise in fixing bent rims, generally guys who do wheel alignment for cars would be able to help

Just saw the Suzuki's (Colombia) website - Gixxer comes with a naked chain and a chain guard similar to what Dazzler had. Looks cool without the saree guard!

Interesting to note the tyre tread patterns also. We had similar graphics in 2012 model in india.

                    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Guys, I've a silly query. Personally, I didn't have any problem with Shell petrol with my old Gladiator. When I've mentioned that I'm going to fill only Shell in my new GS150R, the showroom guy said that "fill anything but Shell".

He said that someone has had some starting problem with a new SUZUKI (I guess he said Slingshot) after filling Shell, which was resolved by removing the Shell petrol and refilling some other petrol (which I find completely absurd). He said in such a way that SUZUKI doesn't accept Shell petrol (which also I find completely absurd).

When we mix Shell with another IOC/HP/BP petrol, the bike behaves differently during the period where the other petrol will be almost over and Shell petrol starts. This is based on the assumption that Shell and other petrol doesn't mix quite well (may be bcoz of different additives and purity). I'm guessing this could have happened to the guy who had the problem. Any other theories?

Anyway, my main query is that, has anyone been using Shell for GS150R (especially in Hyderabad)? If so, do let me know if you've had any starting problems or anything like that. Personally, I don't think there would be any, and would be surprised if anyone says they had faced such issues.

Finally, I think this post is something that should have been posted in the 'Help Me!' section rather than here. So, excuse me for this.

                      Pdi = pre delivery inspection.

The story is absurd as you mentioned. I have been using shell and only shell in my bike and there are no problems. Btw I live in bangalore. Shell offers same quality of petrol all over so no issues.

The problem could be because of blocked fuel line or breather hole. Common in new suzuki bikes (they dont seem to check this even if 10 people report it.

In older bikes, there could be many issues like rust in the tank or water seepage into the tank.

All of these require removing the fuel and cleaning the tank

Even i was using shell petrol earlier and didnt find any problem.. But to go to shell petrol bunk, i had to go atleast 3 kms extra through heavy traffic.. so now, I prefer an HP pump regularly.

And congrats on your new bike

Ooh, then, I hope my bike doesn't have that problem.

I've done the basic PDI -

                          - I've checked if the tool kit and first aid are present below the seat.
                          - I've test driven it for a few meters (I know we can't find anything in a few meters).
                          - Accessories like tank and seat covers are yet to be installed.
It looks like I've to wait for a week or so for them.
                          - T/R is not yet done. Most probably, it'll be done today evening.
                          - Manual is given to me after taking my signatures on a couple of pages.

Please let me know if I've missed to check anything.
I'll be going to him anyway today evening to get the T/R done. So, I can ask it then.

I used to go almost 15 kms through heavy traffic for Shell petrol before. Now, it is just in 5 kms range.

You can check around for signs of rust on the bike on metal surfaces. Any other issues should have shown up by now. Give a thorpugh check all around the bike and also check the open cables for any damages.

Also get them to clear the breather hole which is visible if you open the tank lid.

It is 2 years and 4 months since purchase and never recharged my GS battery till now. Just topped up last year with acid from a battery shop.

Today I came up with the below idea as my bike refused to start yesterday using self-start. Hope you are able to view the attachments.

I topped up the liquid level with distilled water (Costs Fifteen per Litre).

I used my Desktops 9 year old Wipro UPS to do the charging.

Please make sure you do this in a ventilated area away from kids.
                              CONNECT THE POSITIVE TERMINAL FIRST.

Let me update tomorrow if this process is successful.

I am at Chennai & using Shell for last 2000 Kms as a shell outlet got re-opened on my way to office.

Mileage seems to have increased a little. Say 1-2 Kmpl.

They provide 2 types of petrol. Normal at 74.44 Per litre and other at 84 Per litre.

I have never faced any problem so far with Shell.

New Bike getting seized problem was faced by few people in my area when using only ESSAR. Mechanic was against Essar
Even my other bikes mileage took a hit when I used ESSAR. just FYI. I am not against Essar or supporting shell.

                                Thanks in advance.

                                1. This is the final modification which has a couple of Telescopic HID in Crush Guard, and also crush guard moded to white colour

                                2.Brightness of Two Telescopic HIDs

3.Two Telescopic HID takes about 9A current

                                4. How it is made, so simple first we made cylinder like pipe to fix the Telescopic HID

5.Then this cylinder is fixed in the crush guard

                                6. Crush Guard and the Cylinder Holder is Painted to OEM White

                                7. Finally rear End is painted in Red colour
