Re: Suzuki GS150R
Congratulations buddy, nice snaps. Happy motoring. Tips that I have followed are keep it under 4.5K RPM until 1000 kms, gradually take it up but do not cross 6000 RPM until 2500 kms. The bike will initially be a bit rusty but give it a couple of services and you wouldn't hear a thing.Originally posted by satishpulsar View PostAfter a lot of search, online reviews and following this thread...finally got the GS 150 R....
Do give some suggestions and tips for the initial months of riding....
By far, each of our bikes have behaved differently. Do share your stories.

I intend to get my idle RPM tuned down tomorrow. Thanks for the tips Nikhil.

I remember reading that you had an unfortunate fall on the bike (correct me if I am wrong). Please also have a check if this has caused any damage to the disc/ calipers.Originally posted by Aviraj Singh View PostThey have given me one pad which was replaced , and told to replace it in next service. New brake oil was also added. they say that my Disc and Callipers piston maybe damage which might be causing the problem.
As you know, it is better to change one part at a time starting from the least expensive while trobleshooting an issue.Regards,

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Hi Nikhil,
You should see a star head screw behind the light when you tilt the handle bar to the extreme ends.
You need a long star head screwdriver to rotate the screw clockwise / anti clockwise.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
The problem came after the pads where replaced. And yes I fell but did not ram into any thing which can damage the disk, but i will get it checked.Originally posted by venkan12 View PostI remember reading that you had an unfortunate fall on the bike (correct me if I am wrong). which way I should rotate it? In my bike, when the light is in "bright" , it falls very much higher..more than normal "bright"..i want that to be made a little lower.. is it possible by adjusting this?Last edited by nikhil.krishnan; 06-11-2013, 12:39 PM.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Hi Sagar,Originally posted by sagarupadhyay View Postyup i agree bike rattles if you throttle up fast. what i have recently started doing is, after a gear upward shift, i dont accelerate, i hold the throttle for a second or two and than gradually accelerate, try it once and see the difference in rattling :-p.
regarding jumping and wobling i can say that yes i do feel it wobbles more than needed, but i just ignore it, i dont have my hands or wrists paining
I tried your tip on acceleration, it works. However after 2nd service, the engine sound has drastically reduced. Its smooth and can't hear a thing even when riding at 80. However, I believe slower acceleration would do the trick than fast or immediate acceleration.
The wobbling and jumping still exists, think we have to live with it. No solution in sight even for the SC guys.

Looks like you have got a K&N Filter on your bikeOriginally posted by Aviraj Singh View Post

.. is it worth changing to K&N from the stock filter? Do you feel any change afterall ?
And Aviraj,
Did you cut down your rear Mudguard?

Re: Suzuki GS150R
About the mudguard, It was attached with clips, it could be removed very easily no problem. Yes, K&n air filter installed in it, I have also up sized the main jet, Pickup has increased. I have started to upgrade my bike , next month I will we getting big bore kit from Race conceptsOriginally posted by nikhil.krishnan View PostLooks like you have got a K&N Filter on your bike

. If you want to change your air filter try to put in a Box so that water can not get in touch with air filter. Good news is that I still get my bike serviced from Service Center with the K&N air filter installed.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Hi. When ingive my bike for service, I generally get a hayate on standby. I have dfiven the bike fairly on a few occassions.
The bike is good. Very peppy engine. Stable and comfortable with good breaks. Ideal for city commute.
In my pastnexperience of owning a tvs for 7 yrs, I would recommend trying a star city. This bike is also peppy, and powerful with a big bike feel. Also try the discocver 100t. Service and spares makes bajaj or tvs better.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Tested..... and the verdict is.....
After 2000 kms, i got the opportunity to speed test. I got a free stretch on the E-city elevated expressway. 102 kmph. The bike was just about to take off in the air and had to slow down but it had potential to go futher. I wouldn't be testing it any further for at least another 1000 kms
The fuel tank holds 17 litres of petrol. I had 3.5 on reserve, I went for a full tank as petrol prices are bound to rise, Could fill 13.5 without any problem. That makes it 17 litres and there is still room for more.Regards,

Re: Suzuki GS150R
well, am not planning to do any changes in the bike as of now... and this big bore kit was a new term for me... thanks for that.Originally posted by Aviraj Singh View PostYes, K&n air filter installed in it, I have also up sized the main jet, Pickup has increased. Hayate seem to be a great bike among the 110 cc segments. I have never driven it but from reviews, i think it is worth buying. after googling, it looks like most people are confused between hayate and Honda Dream Yuga. If you are planning to buy one, take test drive of these two and choose wisely.Originally posted by blue_maniac View Postoff topic - NO1 here on XBHP owns a Suzuki Hayate? I am not able to find any reviews/feedback on this bike.

The problem with TVS is that, after few years the bike will be with full of vibrations and so much noises. (You know what i mean coz am not getting the exact term for this..Originally posted by venkan12 View PostI would recommend trying a star city.
