After a couple of weeks of riding in bumper to bumper traffic, I realized 2 things

    1. The fuel economy drops to as low as 40 kmpl in these conditions
    2. The bike with a high riding position is very comfortable on long rides but gets on your nerves in city traffic. (Even for someone who is 6 foot tall, the high seating hurts the crotch after a few instances of stop and go)

      i. my daily driving is at peak traffic timings and frankly, i havent checked the milage of my bike till now. I believe i am also getting sumwhere near 45 - 50 kmpl. (well, it depends on the way you drive as well)

ii. I am 6 feet tall and I felt the riding position to be really good compared to other small bikes of the same range. As for me , it is perfect either you are in higways or in city traffics.

the only thing is that, you need little more "space" than it take for an FZ or a Discover to drive through the gap between other vehicles while in a block. Well ofcourse our bike is really big.. and i just love the size

Absolutely Nikhil. Just love the size. Glad to know that its only me who's feeling that way. Maybe its to do with me being a bit plumpy or its my hatred towards traffic.

Panic breaking + Slippery road + small speed breaker + speed = Superman= Crash. Got scratches on palms. Bikes fine just a fuel spill do not know why it happened and a bit of handle shift no scratch on bikes body. Thank God.

Wear gloves. It keeps you away from those scratches.

I have a query, why does the speedometer light glows even during the day i.e even if I don't switch on the headlight

If the light does not glow, it would be hard to see the speedometer when sun light directly falls on it.

Its difficult even with the lights on. I did ask this question to Suzuki guys and they say that is is a default feature and the power consumed by the LED backlight is negligible to be even considered a problem.

                ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

I had a long ride yesterday on the bike. 40 +40 kms. One of the best possible roads in Bangalore. The Hosur Road and the eleated expressway. For the first time, I went upto 80 yesterday. The bike was cruising at 6K RPM and I coldn't hear a thing from the engine.

It really felt good when I was able to overtake a cluster of people on 150 CC bikes like a breeze. Can't hide the smile on my face.

But one noticable issue is the jumping and wobbling problem. The 80 kms ride yesterday has given me a severe pain in my forearms and wrists. This generally absorbs all the shock. Suzuki better do something about this.

It ain't true. I drive Yamaha FZ-S too where the light doesn't glow unless you turn on the headlight. Its very much visible

I am not worried about the power it consumes, but I forget to switch on the headlight thinking that its glowing. I need some time to adapt

In my case, during my initial problems, I spoke to the GM and MD of Aryan Suzuki and they were kind enough to escalate the matter to Suzuki internally. The regional Service Manager flew down from Gurgaon to Bangalore to inspect my bike. Suzuki is generally very responsive to complaints. I can't say the same about resolution though.

Try another SVC center and see if that would help.
                    Hey,

all seems to be well now, i tried to go in othe service centre and the guy told me that the engine sound that i hear is normal, he showed me other bikes as well who had almost same sound, but still i feel a bit of vibration when i am driving the bike, can feel little vibration on my right feet, is that normal/????.

and yes one more thing for those who think all 3 gs models feel same, well they dont. I personally drove all 3 gs models and i can state that first gs models are the best amongst all, second would be the 3rd model(recent one), and last one is min(2nd generation model). SVC guy told me that the new gs models have a sweet voice(engine noise) than the second model and the quality of engine balancer used in 1st generation model is little bit better than 2nd generation model.
i personally drove all 3 and i felt the difference( thought the difference was not too much, but yes it was noticeable).

And comparing all 3 models, they have received most no of complaints about wear and tear of engine and spares from 2nd generation model.( recent one is just out in market so they havent recd much feedback, ).

Absolutely agree with you. After testing all the models, I would agree that the first one is the best. The engine is silent, no vibrations and is more stable.
In the 3rd/ 4th gen bike that we all have, noticable problem is the engine vibtration. I feel that very obviously when I release the throttle and the engine dies down slowly. (this has to be checked with a lower idle speed as suggested by Punarvasu).

Also the vehicle jumping and wobbling is a big concern. I can feel my whole body shaking on the bike. There is extreme pressure on the forearms and wrists because of this.

The engine rattles if you throttle up fast. This is something that is not noticed in the previous models.

One more noticable difference is that the newer engine is a little bit powerful. 0.2 BHP I think.

                        hey,
I am an owner of the 3rd generation of gs150r and had initially faced some battery issues. Based on suggestions in previous posts, in Jan this year itself,I had done a full charge of the battery, shown it to the service centre where they found and replaced a rectifier issue. after that I did not face any issues when I used to take my bike daily to office.
However, recently, I was out of town for a two weeks and yesterday, when I returned,I wanted to take out my bike for a ride. But it took me nearly 5 min of kicking to get it started. And then also it would start up and die even though it was on choke. It took some time for it to stabilise.
Is that normal for our bike? I have a honda activa too but never really faced this kind of issue before. Please advice? I am nearing my 4th service now, and am already facing a dipped mileage issue for which the service centre have said 'fixed' but mileage says otherwise

                          Hi jd81,

Even i have the same starting trouble. Bike does not start after leaving it idle for a week.

Bike will refuse to power up using the kick start. I have to press self-start for N number of times with choke ON.

Try to kick the bike few times with ignition off and then turn the key on and try a self-start. This works in my scooty.

If you are not getting expected mileage, check tuning your carb with a well known experienced mechanic. It may depend on other factors as well
                          1) Tire Air pressure
                          2) quality of fuel
                          3) type of riding
                          4) Gear shifts and breaking etc.

Request you to wait till completion of 4th service and check. Inform about both the issues and let the service centers do their part.

Ya, guess I will reach out to the service centre again. For the mileage part, points 1-4 haven't changed much .. so will get the carb tuning checked at the service centre again
