[QUOTE=punarvasu;866422]
Please go through the links provided by gmagesh in the first page of this thread and contact him for any further help.
Remember that it makes the warranty of the electrical parts, which actually is limited to the battery, void. But all of us who made our bikes DC are going fine.
thanks for the response i saw the process its too difficult for a noob like me to understand so i need someone who can help me in the process if u know someone from hyderabad changed from ac to dc please mention the name i will contact him

It's just a simple 3 steps,
1.Rewind the coil
2.Connect it to Ape RR
3. Re-route the headlamp wiring
I elaborated the steps involved with pics which made it look difficult.
That was my mistake.
OT:: See nobody is born experienced, only practice /a mere try gives some confidence & experience..
Believe me that was the 1st time I'm working with such stuffs in bike. It's not such hard as you think.
EDIT::
Contact shoeb2015. He should be the right person to assist you from HyderabadLast edited by gmagesh14; 09-04-2012, 01:48 PM.

My opinion on GS150r
The Bike : metallic grey , 3 years old 23k kms on the odo
I got this bike from a friend of mine since he moved to USA.
i own a CBZ xtreme since two years and i am xtremely pleased with it . Smooth engine ,gear box ,comfortable and hassle free.
AS soon as i got the keys to the GS150r , i gave it a nice wash , cleaned it neatly .
Once cleaned i noticed that it was not a well maintained bike. Loose chain , squeaky brakes ,loose mirrors , lots of scratches here and there .
It took a few kicks to get the bike started , once started i warmed up the engine to take it out for a short ride .
I found a stretch of newly asphaled road near my place and decided check it out.
The bike was set to power mode and i opened the throttle and to my surprise it responded well , quickly i shifted gears and did a decent 70kmph .
Gear shift was smooth even for an ill maintained bike. I feel there was no need for a heel shifter , toe shifter only could ve given it a sporty look.
the front brake had a good bite despite 23k kms , and i was comfortable braking a bit hard ,although the bike swayed a little bit (could have been the old tyres ).
Alright , what else , good engine , smooth gears , decent brakes , what next ?
Time to find out the suspension , i went in search of potholes
and found a nice big one in the parallel road. I quickly aimed the bike at it and prepared myself to embrace the impact.
No drama at all here , this big bike handled the pothole easliy . There you go impressive shocks.
Pulled the bike to a side and played with the console to see whats what .
Set it to eco mode and rode along, i could notice the difference in power output .
Saw the fuel guage blinking and immediately took the bike to nearest filling station and filled for 500 rs , the guage showed only one reading more bar
The big tank can hold up to 17L and a tank full in bangalore can cost upto 1.2k
!
It took me a few days time to get used to the bike , initially i never that bike bike feel , due to light handle bar and the digital console.
Speaking of the digital console , i feel its neatly arranged and the crome ring on the tacho meter give a nice finish. I fell it could have been a bit bigger.
The pillion seat is a bit too high , especially old people who find it difficult to hop on.
My knees felt safe and comfortable with that huge tank and i am sure it gives a good range on the highways.
Suzuki s thin dealer network and after sales service sort of scares me , i mean i have heard stories about them . Will be heading towards an ASC this weekend and i hope they do a good work. One of HH ASC got a piece of my mind after doing a shoddy work with my bike.
That was one reason why i didnt consider buying suzuki two years ago.
Suzuki could have provided easy methods to shift between eco and power modes , rather than time consuming methods on the console , its simply stupid , wake up suzuki.!!
Suzuki makes one of the best bikes in the world , and this is a good start for them to re take the market for performance bikes , provided they bring in more of their best works and not just 100cc economy bikes.

Will cost around Rs. 700-750 depending on SVC. Weekends are reserved for the people queueing up at the SVC so if you want to get it serviced on weekends, better go to the SVC an hour earlier than the opening time. But be warned, on weekends and other days when the number of vehicles to be serviced is more, the workers carelessly work on each vehicle.Originally posted by girimajiananth View PostCan anyone here tell me the approximate cost of paid service for gs 150r ?

Service charge depends the works done on your bike but they are charging Rs. 100/- per hour. Cleaning air filter and spark plug is done as part of servicing. Why are you planning to clean and tune the carburetor? If you are not facing any problems, these two works are not necessary and before planning a carb tuning, check the mileage your bike gets.Originally posted by girimajiananth View PostCan anyone here tell me the approximate cost of paid service for gs 150r?
Oil filter of GS is not cleaned but replaced while changing oil.
As the bike is 23K kms old now, change the brake pads if it was not replaced earlier. Get the chain slackness adjusted and lube with grease and EP 90 or 140 oil.Originally posted by girimajiananth View PostOnce cleaned i noticed that it was not a well maintained bike. The sound from the brakes is due to dust accumulation. Either clean it or let it be so.

As the warranty period is over and as you haven’t any repairing woks to be done, you can do all these simple maintenance works yourself. Try and if you have any doubt, post it here.
Can any one provide links to DIY threads for GS150r ?
The bike wont start during cold starts and is not idle for a long time . I mean even after driving for 30 mins in heavy traffic , the engine chokes every time you let the throttle loose and after that i have to kick start the bike , the bike wont respond to electric start at all.
so i am thinking to get everything cleaned once . Why wont they clean oil filter ?Last edited by girimajiananth; 09-06-2012, 10:56 AM.

Yesterday i had given my bike to SC for repaires out of service schedule , problem was regarding no idealing and racing at 3000 rpm since last week , to everybodies surprise choke valve(in carburetor) was stuck due to rust
, how come rust take place in aluminium composite parts , ok bike had experienced quiet heavy drenching in rains since 3 weeks , but rust(corrosion) in carburetor is rediculous , mechanic at SC suggest to operate choke regularly atleast once in a day, though i used to operate atleast once a week atleast . I hope this is rare case.

At JEEPSTER:- The sound when accelerating is not from timing chain its the default sound of gs150r.
Check out with other GS or with A.S.S.
1 Doubt...
Suzuki shogun's rr unit has the power to produce 70w for headlight.
35w low beam + 35w Highbeam when pressed pass light switch.
But in gs when pass switch in pressed during low beam both the beam gets dimmed.
So can we swap the RR unit.

Please get clarified that the sound you're referring is common if GS is revved quickly / hardly.. Make sure whether the same sound is there even when you gradually increase/open the throttle.
If you have the same issue. Then give it a general service and a full checkup at the nearest service center rather than a local mechanic shop as it might be the 1st GS for him to analyse such problem and also it'll be difficult for him to source the spares from local shops.
For idling issues, check the accelerator cable adusted from the nearby SC.Originally posted by girimajiananth View PostTHANKS , with the given time at hand , i will see what best i can do .

There are two cables present in our bike, if any one/both is adjusted wrongly it'll make the bike to stall or rev automatically when hadle bar is twisted sideways.
For the electric start problem, please confirm the battery's health.
Cost of Oil filter is approximately Rs.35, so replacing it is the best option rather than cleaning it.

Replace the air cleaner, clean or replace the spark plug and check and adjust the idling rpm to 1400-1500 when the engine is warm. Loosen the screw on the bottom of the carburetor and check the free flow of fuel through the tube connected to it. And check the condition of the battery too.Originally posted by girimajiananth View PostThe bike wont start during cold starts and is not idle for a long time . The oil filter of GS is not cleanable as of some other bikes. There is an oil strainer but nobody cleans it.
