Did you check the choke connections?
In my opinion, it is very difficult to find out an expert local mechanic. More than that, our bikes parts are not available outside.
As the bike is 3 years old now and the warranty is over, why can’t you do the normal maintenance works such as oil and oil filter change, cleaning or replacing air filter, chain lubing etc. yourself and approach the SC if any repairing work is essential?
Pour a few drops of engine oil in the key hole and try. Other option is applying a little WD-40. The locks are not repairable; I think.
The oil filter can be used up to 8000 kms. The roughness you feel is not due to the oil seal but because the oil filled is not your favorite one. So, wait up to the next oil change.
I haven’t used 10W-40 SS oil but using 15W-40 Castrol SS. When I bought it a few days ago, its price was Rs. 350/- for 1 liter. If you ever decide to try a different brand, Castrol 15W-40 Power 1 SS is a good option.
It is possible and that too without any modifications. The price is about Rs. 1800/- for each side panel.

I have a little knowledge about lubricants so can you tell me which grade is superior 10W40 or 15W40( for the money i pay). I checked it at shell bunk it costs 340.

regarding the rubber part i would better check for vibrations under different oil first.

This oil suggestion was from my mechanic who also owns a GS, he told me that there is tremendous change in smoothness of the bike.

Castrol 15W 40 is good, its SS but not as good as motul or elf or valvoline 20 W 40 JASO MA2 specific oils

in my GS shell doesn't goes well.

Self start not working

Hello guys back after a long tym.

Bikes self start is not working since many days got it checked during the service worked for 2 days then again the same problem.

wht to do??

Good battery backup is required for self start..

First check the battery, topup the fluid level if required, check whether the battery is holding the charge after a days ride..

Battery should show around 12v when fully charged..

Please go through the links provided by gmagesh in the first page of this thread and contact him for any further help.
Remember that it makes the warranty of the electrical parts, which actually is limited to the battery, void. But all of us who made our bikes DC are going fine.

The voltage of a fully charged battery should be over 12.6. If it is lesser, get it checked at the SC.

i got a used GS 150r from my friend , i will be using it until he gets back from USA ,

AFAIK , it not well maintained . I want to change the engine oil.

Please tell me whats the engine oil capacity?

is it just 1L as in any other 150 cc bikes?

Whats the cost of an air filter , oil filter and spark plugs for gs 150r ?

old airport road is a bit far from my place , any idea about the one near bansahankri ? near kamakya ?
