Re: Suzuki GS150R
I'm 6'2", and height was the deciding factor for me.Originally posted by jammbuster View Postits suitability for tall riders like me ( i am 6.5" tall) ....
Was going for the Gixxer 155 (excellent bike), but it just looks tiny compared to me
The other option for my height and within my budget was Hero Xtreme, but the build quality just felt very flimsy...it was better in its CBZ avatar IMHO.
So here I am, waiting for my new black GS to be delivered in a few days! jammbuster So what did you finally decide?

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Considering the more torque, lightweight , larger brake disc, wider tyre and shorter wheelbase which makes cornering and city ride easier, mono shock absorber, higher compression ratio and many more, I think Gixxer is better.Originally posted by sirjohn View PostIWas going for the Gixxer 155 (excellent bike), but it just looks tiny compared to me.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
I agree with you punarvasu...the Gixxer is the better bike of the 2 in most respects. I found it to be better than even the yamaha fz, specifically the stable handling, manoeuvrability and riding posture. Also, the leg recesses were comfortable for me (fz leg recesses fell short). As I said, I would have gone for the Gixxer if it was slightly bigger...call me insecure if you willOriginally posted by punarvasu View PostConsidering the more torque, lightweight , larger brake disc, wider tyre and shorter wheelbase which makes cornering and city ride easier, mono shock absorber, higher compression ratio and many more, I think Gixxer is better.
I'm sure jammbuster faces a similar problem because of his height.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Here is the video of the same. May be I need to check valve clearance. Taking bike for free servicing tomorrow.Originally posted by rsk_kelkar View PostMy bike will complete 1 year under my ownership on this month's 13th. I am having a problem since a few days now. At ~4500rpm i feel whole chassis vibrating. The source of vibration is somewhere near the engine I think. It happens in all the gears at same rpm. Please give your valued inputs on this. Thank you.
p.s. This is not the silencer resonance(i.e. not vibrations at ~3500rpm).
BTW how does the bike like this 10W40 oilOriginally posted by SparKot View PostWent to nearest 9-Star SVC (BLR), bought a can of Motul 10w40 Mineral Engine Oil for ₹ 290/-

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Then GS itself is better. But the difference in Gixxer's wheelbase and seat height is mere 10 mm (1330 mm wheelbase instead of GS's 1440 and 780 mm seat height instead of GS's 790). Gixxer looks to be smaller due to the lesser overall length, height and smaller tyres.Originally posted by sirjohn View PostI agree with you
And Yamaha FZ, in any aspect, is not a bike comparable with GS or Gixxer as these two bikes are far better than it and that is the fact and the truth.
Before adjusting the valve clearance, ask the mechanic to check the timing chain and tensioner.Originally posted by rsk_kelkar View PostMay be I need to check valve clearance. Taking bike for free servicing tomorrow.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Dear GSpian,
Planning to change other brand shocks for my GS as I feel its hard/stiff and pillion get bumps in patholes. Is is good to change to stock monoshock of Unicorn/Fz? Also I think Hunk shocks are best suite for GS. Pour in if anyone has changed GS rear shocks.
I tried turning shocks screw to softer end however do not find any imrovement.
@jammbuster ; GS is a lot comfort for a Guy above 6"ft tall than any other commuter bike. You back & legs will not strain on daily long ride for sure. Take a test ride and check if foot rest & seating position is comfortable for you. I thing for tall person mount on GS wont be an issue but as both side footrest are little back & closer to machine, you may have to bend little forward like a sport rider.
ThanxLast edited by RaviRaj123; 10-11-2014, 02:46 PM.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Guys I need a small help my bike is sometimes struggling at 4500 to 5000 rpm as if its not getting fuel only at that rpms. Changed my filter and sparkplug but no use.
Note: this is happening after riding it for 15km when engine is getting hot
Is it clutch issue or chain kit issue ? I am feeling that if it is clutch or chain kit issue it should happen at all rpms but why it is happening only at certain rpm please shed some light on this if any one experienced such issues

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Hey guys, getting hold of my new GS in a couple of days
. Saw a few earlier posts saying tubeless tyres can be put on the GS. I asked the dealer; he sent off an email to Suzuki asking if TL tyres were compatible. The answer was no, I'll have to get the rims changed for that, and I'll have to get it it done from any local tyre shop.
Is it advisable to do so? Will it alter the balance and handling in any way?
If not, can I have Tuff-up tubes put in? Are they good enough?

Hey i too faced similar issues with my 4 year old GS. My bike was struggling at the same rpms, as if there is no petrol in carburetor. Mechanic checked thoroughly and just changed the air filter, now its alright.Originally posted by speed deamon View PostGuys I need a small help my bike is sometimes struggling at 4500 to 5000 rpm as if its not getting fuel only at that rpms.
