Also i see more GS owners down south and in mumbai not many owners in Delhi or else they are not coming forward
I think this was driver error itself.. i shouldn't have gone that fast with a pillion rider. i've done that stretch plenty of times solo, it was perfect. just an off time i guess.

May be the govt officials too. i mean, they should clean the sand,(especially at a curve like that) the sides of the road feel like a beach !! my sandals were filled with sand.

        @ Falcon
Thank god, you are safe. What about your pillion? Braking in mid corner always results in such scenarios.

        Ride safe.........

        @ Adi

I think people in North India are opting for higher cc class bike as price is lower there. Anyway this thread was started by Sam who is a North Indian. In my place 2010 GS costs 68,500 OTR. Almost at same price you people can buy a RTR 180 rite?

The other plans were to replace those pilot lamps and number plate lamp with 1W LED's and connect them directly to battery which is still an idea so far.
Thankz for ur valuable info....i dont like the other method, may try it after 2 yrs of completion of mah bike...the other plans....out of them i already replaced the number plate lamp and evn put some led strips n connected them to battery....n changed pilot lamps to philips bluevision....so they r taking the same 10 w load......(check on page 476)
still m confused, will the night breaker work properly with 45w?

Tail LED is on DC.....and the source for LED's is Remove the connection for numberplate bulb underneath seat lock......and put a resistance in series and connect the led's wherever u want in parallel(but 'll have to take wires from back to the front of the bike)...make sure u dont use capacitor there...as it will create a filter....and u wont get o/p properly......i mean led's will flicker for some time till the capacitor gets charged!(check on page 476/478)

No I dont think so. Because the fuse will blow out if we connect it to a 35W bulb, as it is only supposed to supply 5W.
i tried dat....n then the console display was not coming on....i was a bit scared as it was around 11:30 in night and all shops were closed......then mah sr bro asked me to kick start it and bike started but still the console was not coming.....then we took mah bike home n changed the fuse....now evrythng was proper.....

the serviceman head himself admitted that the new gs is refined than the previous one..when i asked him for test ride he told it will take time .....and when i told him that my cousin is looking for a new bike and he has gs and dazzler on radar (trap)he told me to wait for 10 mins.....he got a new gs..with the tank cover still not removed....and gave me for test ride...i rode at max 54kmph(beyond that was hindered by traffic).....that is how i got a opportunity to ride a new gs...

              Cheers,

Here its 80,000 OTR. I think it due to the taxes and transportation charges. A full 7K difference

well the front discs are not just Fine...they r the bloody best....considering the weight of gs(for other bikes the bike seems to fall on a side as u brake but dats not the case wid gs,it can be controlled at lower speedsi.e.<5kmph).....hence we have them in left instead of right as other indian bikes have!!!!!(there's some aerodynamics involved)and for rear brakes evn they r good,if u brake hard at lower speeds the wheel gets locked...and as he said at higher speeds they help reducing speed......and if u put disc in rear then the bike might skid more for new riders as they usually do hard braking......
we'll have a debate on this sumtym later......

so lets hope ours too matures with more kms clocking on the Odo...

well good u told us.......but the pilot lamps must be there for gs else it would lose its wolfs eyed look.......

                    Nag.
HID's are high intensity discharge lamps which produces light with an electric arc and not the filament like we have in stock.....they give sheer white light n hence increase the vision in night....it comes with a kit including ballast n some stuff......u get the made in china brands for around 3000 bucks..........check on the light thread in universal threads section u'll get to know each n everything about hid's.......
personally i wont recommend HID's as they glow so much that causes inconvinience for oncoming traffic...n if that happens we are in danger.....other things if the light is 4300k then its proper white light else it gives blueish tint which attract indian cops very much.....
if u want to use hid's then there's only one way u have to fit them in projector......projector can be of hi beam or low beam or both......if ur ready to spend hefty sum then u'll get the both beam projector else u'll have to put two projectors one for hibeam and one for low.....
Now putting the projector in the headlamp assy if difficult.....so u'll have to go to a proper mechanic to do it....n lastly duin this will result in loss of warranty..........

                    • lol maestro what to do everything has its pros and cons Delhi Rulez when it comes to Price Petrol aur bike Prices. The Overall price is dependent on state the states levy heavy taxes which leads to high prices if they are reduced then all states can have uniform prices. But I like it this way

This time was pretty bad too, not for the bike but me.

I tried going on that U turn indiranagar fly over loop at 55-60, guess the pillion got scared and told me not to bend and shook a little, so even i got scared and straightened the bike, but at that speed i couldn't complete the U turn and applied brakes when i was close to the wall. sadly, that fly over loop is never cleaned and i skidded in the sand at the side of the road

the skin got scraped off from my right hand and palm too, it burns pretty bad

Surprisingly nothing happened to the bike except few scratch on crash guard and lens indicator..
Good to know that you escaped with minor scratches.....But we need to take it positive, as these small things will bound to happen...... take a moral out of it that in further we opt to be careful in turns and similar areas..(as such incidents will mature our driving...)

I too met with small accident with bad skin peel off right hand elbow..
From that day onwards...i will keep my "eyes" wide open at least at turns and junctions......

                        "GET WELL SOON DEAR"

                        Thanks,

                        • When i was in pune,pradhikaran....which comes under pimpri chinchwad...if i am not wrong...there the "octrai" was there,it is special tax.....my friend who wants to buy bike passion....and enqired about the price and good dealer..to his surprice he noticed that there is price difference b/w pune and pimpri chicnchwad of at least rs 2000 to 3000.....so he bought it in pune....but has to pay the octroi... at last as he was residing in pradhikaran...

@maestro...Its like this....when i start the bike....the engine generates sound which is like loosened screws rotating in the started engine....normally when you start the gs the sound will be crisp and rythamatic......without any thing(screws)flying or rotating in the engine....Hope you understood not confused......

Yesterday the suzuki servicemn head told me that suzuki is planning to launch a new 125cc bike in june or july.....

Hope you don't mind this question, but why are you riding from Mumbai to Delhi in rains, when a train can get you and your bike to Jammu much more comfortably? You may be very tired by the time you reach Leh! Just think about it. You can use the days to explore Ladakh rather than riding though the plains, which gets boring real fast.
