Loose screw sound, is it a problem?

Hi,

Some of the members here had mentioned about the loose screw sound while runing, is this a problem? I also hear the same sound. Please advice.

1 of 3 can never be true. Do you think all gs owners visit this forum. Also people only tend to report things when there is an issue. Its only human. You can easily good mileage if you drive sane (50-65km/h). But believe me its difficult to ride at aforementioned speed. Me otherwise a slow rider tend to touch 90km/h as soon as i get a good patch of road. I do get consistent mileage of around 47. Once i got 40 and it was attributed to riding in very muddy condition at 1st and 2nd gear only. So think about it if you find this bike suites you, go for it. You would be happy if you listen to your heart. Raj

May 2009, Orange... 11100 Kms done. Max in a day 150 Kms. Top Speed 111Kmph. Avg. milleage 46.

Guys did anyone put Nitrous Oxide for the tyres ?? Is it good for GS ?? I saw one station in petrol bunk in RA puram. The guy asked me to come 2 days later as its gotta be ready only then. Not sure if it is good. Is the same pressure Ok in case I go for it ?

A little correction, its not Nitrous Oxide but Nitrogen

Filling Nitrogen is always a good option

, Nitrogen is used in high performance bikes and cars( F1, MotoGP etc). They provide uniform pressure and they compress when temperature increases, thus increasing area of contact and thus better grip. Normal air contains around 78%

, so commuters like us wont benefit much from filling Nitrogen, but its a safe one.
In my town its around 50 Rs.

for a tyre while the other is just 5 Rs

Hi Arun,

I donot now exactly if this is the problem or general....if it is not a problem but general than most of the gs owners would have commented still now......

I too faced the same problem.....prior to 2nd service the problem was sever but after that the problem is reduced but not rectified........have to visit once again to Suzuki service...donna i have asked reason for the problem....they are telling let us seee....

Thanks for the correction.. Actually I realized only after I had submitted the post... If you say that they compress on increase of temperature, then surely it'll take a toll on the milleage right ??? Probaly I'm not for it... One of the reasons why i bought this bike was the milleage even in insane driving.. So cannot compromise on it...

Nitrogen compresses by absorbing heat. But only above a threshold temperature, on our riding conditions such a case will never happen. May be on a prolonged running condition under blazing sun. So that wont affect fuel economy by any means. Usually they are used in high performance cars & bikes which do rapid accelerations and decelerations thus heating tires. Tires will be grippy when their temperature increases, it can seen in races where a specific number of burnouts are done so as to have a perfect get away.

Another aspect to be considered is that Nitrogen filled tires increases the tire life as the pressure will be uniform even under stress and also they require less maintenance(refills) than the ordinary one. Some even say that oxygen content in the air will result in the oxidation of rubber lowering its life time. So if money is not a problem it will be a safe bet.

please check your pillion grab rail.it can cause such sounds if its loose.

Hiiiiiii

Hi all,
i have completed 515KM on my new bike..
from yesteday i m getting some noise from shock ups..
do they need regualr oiling?
next weekend i m going for first servicing.. shall i wait for SC to rectify the issue or can i do something else...
the noise is negligible but i do not like that... it mostly arrives on lower speed.. on regualr speed i never feel any kind of noise.
related to screw noise-- i m not getting any noise from my bike... ma bike is smooth like butter and i m really happy with it....

pls suggest..

No i dont think so, i feel that the sound is coming from the engine.

The sound is not coming from the rear suspension, it is coming from the bolt holding the swing arm

. This happens to almost every GS(me too), no big deal just go to S.C and ask them to lubricate it. Even if left untreated it will go away with time

. Ride safe.......

Amul are you mentioning about the click-click sound coming from engine after riding some time? Those sounds may be coming from the valve and the timing chain, I noticed such sounds before first service. Sound is still there but much less and it will reduce eventually. Another source of sound can be loose drive chain, which will be heard while riding slowly.

first servicing

what all things need to check.. while 1st serviing?
gv me an idea?
do i need to tell him to clean the chain.. lubricate the suspension and other parts.... and what abt the oil.. most of my friends having bikes.. suggested to put the motul semi synthetic oil.........
