Here's a pic of myself with my ride
Few points i noted about The blue coloured GS.
I think every batch of blue GS's vary a bit in the colour shade..
Your bike looks like it has a dark blue shade..

Mine is definitely a bit lighter, and today i saw another blue GS, it looked more greenish than blue..

Btw, are the speeds you mentioned based on the speedo or the GPS device ?
whats the speed on the speedo at 4500 rpm in 6th gear ?
    I checked today again, 58 at 4.5k 6th gear and 67 at 5k..
Its a bit less because i've not checked the tyre pressure for 2 months and hardly used the bike too.

Looks like my petronas dream is shattered..i looked all around JC road and not one shop had a bottle.! guess i'll have to use shell vsx instead.. hmm..

It was on the GPS of my cousin who was riding a Wind125 just at my back following me.
Even I was amazed when my cousin complained me of maintaining so big speeds whereas I revved not more 6K.He was having a bit of tough riding to catch up with me.I know Wind125,it accelerates maniacally to a 100 to 105kmph.
So,speeds cant be felt on the GSR.......its sooo nice.
Even though tomorrow I also would ride with a Hero Honda Hunk over a stretch of 400kms,lets see what can be inferred then.
My speedo and odo is cut off till registration. The fatsos at RTO are really slow

Why dont you go for a Motul300V if you are into synthetics???.This particular synthetic is said to working wonders on several Indian high cc machines.

      • Why is that speed at same engine rpm different to everyone? To me 4.5 K rpm in 5th gear is 53kmph and 6th gear its 61kmph. It seems like Mach50 has got it wrong. With the same gear ratio there is no way it will be different for everyone.

By the way wat is this GPS thing? Global position sensor?

        @ Mach50

Why is registration so delayed in W.B? Here we cannot run more than 50Km without registration. And every vehicle is delivered after registration and it takes only a day here and you get the number same day?

By the way bro, have you done all this riding with speed sensor detached? Thats why you mentioned about GPS rite and said the speed based on the other bike rite.

          • Guys,

Sorry to disturb if any interesting discussion going on

Small update. my ODO read 6224 . After 3k usage of Gulf 4t Oil my mind started think about changing the oil. But it is still good.

Coming to point... i went to my (new friend) oil dealer where i bought gulf 4t.

This time there were lots of surprises.

first thing i saw was AGIP 4t fuly synth 5w40. He said it is 600+ anyway i thought why should i think about synth now.

So took shell VSX semi synth 10w40 and paid 275. Suddenly i asked what is the best price you can give this AGIP anna.... he said 525. i was ok then give to me instead of VSX.

its APISJ , ACEA A3, JASO MA made in italy. but no MRP printed ().

And another surprise was he got dealership of petronas. i saw petronas 2000 mineral oil. i asked him is it possible to get 5000 for me ? any number of cans constrains ... he said no prob. even 2-3 is fine for me to get.

Gonna inform chennai xbhpians. We can get Either petronas or AGIP for more better deal

Ok.. now... Shall i change to AGIP ? getting tempted... having can right infront of me .. what say guys ??

I agree to you about the color difference. But I doubt its because of the type of exposure to sunlight, usage of detergents etc. If we keep bikes in rain or under sun the color will definitely fade.

If you have seen the difference yourself its ok, but we cant judge the color by looking photos as the color varies slightly in every camera and according to the surroundings. If the back ground is dark the bike will appear bright and viceversa.

              @ Rajesh

In eco mode the light will blink just as we cross 61 to 62 in 6th and 53 to 54 in 5th rite. So ours are in sync. Thats a very tempting offer? But its too early for you to shift for synthetic rite?

Im really envious, here all I can find is castrol and gulf. You guys have all sorts of oil available. Try VSX bro, and post how good it is. So gulf will last more than 3K, they mention it has drain interval of 10K rite.

GPS......global positioning system....a satellite enabled system which identifies your position and momentum at the same time, which means at that rate are you changing your position, which is actually your speed, this is what is measured.

I would be riding with a Hunk tomorrow, lets see what its speedo infers.

And Guys I'm simply in love with its breaking now. what power man. I realised its full potential only during the tristate g2g. I was the only GS150 owner there!

EDIT: if anyone in chennai wants to see true sped, call me. My phone has GPS and you can check true speeds on that

You are right bro. The 3.5K to 4K mark is the roughest especially 3.5K and below 3.5K is just too good. The torque is less and but it feels good to glide in traffic at that rpm.

                                @ MACH50

You are truly in love with your ride. Thanks for the reply and do post about your ride with Hunk and dont hesitate to smoke the Hunk.
