The tyre fitted without any adjustments and has superb grip.Handling has improved by tons..
How are the other aspects of the bike with a 130 section tyre dude ?
Has it affected pick up or top speed or mileage ?

I still cant believe 130 section tyre (thats almost like fz), whats the side profile specification ?

    • Fatter tyres without bump in stock power will lead to drop in acceleration and mileage.

Let there be even more light HID Upper

The bike itself was positioned bit to left, so the beam seems left. While riding, the light is uniform. Photos don't do justice, as in reality the light beam is superb. Recommended mod, for less than 2000rs!
            hey buddy!!!
awesome light....Is the HID giving such focussed beam really??because the stock reflector doesn't provide focussed beam.....thats why just curious to know about it....
where are you nowadays???i wana see the headlight in real...i mean if we can meet some where!!!

The spec is 130/80-18.. zapper y. there is no change in mileage but i THINK that theres a very slight drop in pick up. Removed the lower portion of the mudguard too..Bike looks killer from the back.
It can be fitted witout rim change but the gap between the tyre and chain guard is just about 1cm.

                  Thanks !!!!!

Next,I want to try the 4300K HID on it.........problem is that the lowest HID available in my city is 5000K....that is the color I detest.

Megawhite HIDs like 4300K are all purpose HIDs.Anything above that is for all show and no go.

Moreover Animehers,HID is giving the light, but I really think, the low beam should come closer and the high beam a bit wider for the best focus.Problem with stock GSR headset in lighting remains

                  • MACH50, I rode the bike yesterday in city, infact I felt the low should go a bit far! The upper will be used only to harrass the buggers in cages with their uppers on The glare isn't too much, because I have not yet faced any complaint / upper-dipper from oncoming vehicles. Only problem is the bulb is flickering, don't know why.

Aint the low already too far off........This is India we are riding in.....potholes creeps here and there,at speeds-far focused lighting travels off the edge of the holes making the scenario look wonderful, then it is suddenly realized....well the front shocks are getting hammered

So,a nearer lower and a good wider upper is the best bet.

Moreover Animeher.......I think the flickering problem is bcoz of AC electricals and your ULTA fit ,complete DC electricals are very necessary for HIDs.Gotta find some way to deal with it.

                        • Yep, I am going to follow Abhijeet's way, http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/desi-bik...ic-all-dc.html

I have an electronics friend, but he is busy till next week. So the mod has to wait for two weeks! I am not willing to change the RR or coil, as the only change I see is to feed the wasted AC current of old headlight back to battery. Abhijeet's circuit does just that. pavanchirmade is also guiding, so I hope this mod will work good.

                          • @mach50, you could contact Navnish for 4300K Hids. You would find his profile on the 'Let there be light' forum.

@animeher, the photos are not doing justice to the light . I am eagerly waiting for your feedback on the battery drainage issue after an hour or two of ride on city and highway. keep us posted. Raj

                            • First Week Report

almost a week is over after taking the vehicle , Didnt drive much , here and there since it is for my bro,

he observed that between 3rd and 4th gear.. i.e if u go around in 3rd gear , he felt some noise or some thing like 2 objects colliding

so i took the vehicle today , travelled for 10 km couldnt concentrate on the noise which he felt, bcos kodambakkam road in chennai is the first nightmare road.

but i find the bike very powerfull , i thought i am going slowly but the ODO showed 50 normally with my HHpassion i drive in 40-45 with the top gear(4) . advice me what i have to do with GS? bcos odo shows between 10-20 when i am in 4th gear and no knocking ! ! !

                              when i go for 5th and 6th?
can i drive around in 4th itself ? bcos i found that itself very powerful for city commuting
