Hello... There are somethings i noted about chennai traffic which was useful to me and thought might be helpful to you people also...
    1. Make yourself safe on road. Safety priority for you should be higher than that of the bike.
    2. Have 200% concentration when an MTC bus is around you (50meters radius).... I stress on radius since you do not know where they come from and where they go.. ..
    3. Beware of autos (includes Share Autos, Maxi Cab vans that do illegal passenger ferrying, Tata Ace kind of vans..)
    4. Have some knowledge about the bus stops on the roads that you frequent.. that'll help you when you over take a bus, auto... Mostly when you over take from the left(which is not right and predominantly every tom, dick and harry does it here i chennai )
    5. DO NOT FORGET THAT YOU HAVE LOVED ONES AT HOME ALL THE TIME YOU ARE ON ROAD (Mostly parents)...
    6. Believe in prayers.. Really God helps in safe journey...

I wanted to say this since most people who report accidents are from chennai.... This may or may not be applicable to other cities... You can always correct me on the above if I'm wrong somewhere...
    +1 for that
I notice that especially in India people have no discipline on road
    So....
    1)Follow the lane rules...
2)Avoid overtaking from the left side.
    3)Use Indicators..
    4)Use horn only when necessary.
5)Have some RESPECT and concern of people driving around us.
    6)Obey signals
7)And the most irritating thing!!! ""Avoid High Beam ""

    Take Care...

thats true. High beam is the most irritating factor. On roads without divider high beam can become issue of life and death. But there are many people who has no idea what high beam is for. They just put their vehicle on high beam and drive. There should be some educational ads on electronic and print media advising people regarding the use of high beam. High profile car and bike sites like carwale.com, xbhp.com, cardekho.com etc. can take initiatives. What do you say guys? Raj

      • I always use low Beam two reasons since i care for my life and the person coming from other side. Secondly feel that the High beam in GS is little bit out of focus like Pointing to Gods.

          Good!!!!!!
I too stick on to low beam only...
But at times when flash on n off the high beam rapidly (Scolding BAD with light), so that the opposite fellow lowers his beam.
Mostly these uneducated call taxi and Cab drivers(Yellow Boards) use high beam purposely, i have noticed..

thats true. Even after adjusting, the high beam remained un focused. Lately I have changed the bulb and was surprised to see that the high beam has come down to earth and is useful. @matthew. Scolding bad with lights, that is a good one. Keep it up man. Raj

            • Engine Oil Search

Today, i went in search of Gulf Pride 4T Plus to Nana Peth in Pune which is kind of an Automotive Hub. I found 2 Oil Trading Shops who did not have Gulf Oil and said that i will not find it anywhere here. Both of them were recommending Veedol Super Swift 10w 40 Semi Synthetic Oil. Does anyone know about this Oil and it's Performance?

Another Good thing is that both these Shops had stock of Petronas Sprinta 4T 5000 Synthetic Oil in 1 Ltr. Bottles made in Malaysia. It was priced at 440/- and Veedol was priced at 240/-.
Wanted to get the Petronas Oil but am a bit skeptical about switching to Fully Synthetic in just 6000 Kms.

Also, found a Shop that had White and Blue LED's for Pilot Lamps priced at 150/- a Pair.

                what bulb did you use????
I dont think its only because of the bulb that the high beam points to the Gods, its about centering the reflector properly with the screw below that makes the difference.Even I changed my bulb and still the high beam focuses towards birds in the sky
So thinking of properly centering the headset. The stock set-up adjustment is not ok.

Hi bro i tried Gulf pride 4T plus, its good yaar....I feel the difference , the roughness had gone.. Thanks to Rajesh who recommend it......but i hear the sound of valve from engine ,due to loose..i know this problem is not related with oil.........Mine is small town able to get this oil for Rs 210 means ,if u search wide u will get it in Pune.... what i do is which ever oil shop i go i ask where Gulf is avail...So one of them told me , and i got it
I have no choice for other oil except castrol ,Mobil 20w 40 and motul 20w 40
But as mention in the gulf 4T plus can drain period 10,000km is some what not recommended...it is better to change after 4000km or before

I dont think all of them do it on purpose..
One of my classmates used to keep his bike on high beam all the time.
when i asked him why he said its because there's no indication that light is on in low beam.. lol

Luckily i've never had experience with high beam on my face, hardly ride at night and i might have used the headlight less than 15 times since i bought my bike.
But i still complained about the bad focus and got it fixed along with new rectifier.

Veedol super swift seems to have good reviews in the engine oil thread..
But since my SC uses veedol mineral oil i kind of hate the name veedol itself now.

                      Petronas seems very tempting..
BLITZ used it in his bike when it was 6k old and he said its very good..
Even i'm still considering petronas at 4.5k on my bike.
If i find a shop with a petronas board i may just end up buying a bottle.

Regarding synthetics at 6k, its a mixed reaction..
Many people(including my SC technician) said its ok to shift at 4.5k as run in is over etc etc..

And many say you have to wait till 10k kms on the odo.

In semi synthetic i would recommend shell vsx 10w40..
shell makes its oils in collaboration with ducati and may be ktm too, so it'll be good.

Veedol should be good... i didnt try it .. but many saying its good. Try getting dealers name from the site. you may get... you can also try valvoline semi or shell semi.

Give ur bike to me .. i will use it more instead you having just crossed 6k even after a year lol

                        I already crossed 6k in 4 months.

I am using a spare bulb of i10. I think its halonix 55/60 watts. I tried adjusting the reflector for the stock bulb using the screw beneath the head light. The low beam improved but the high beam was not ready to come back to earth. Later when I changed to new bulb the issue has resolved. Raj

                              for General purpose multimeter:
Set the multimeter in current measuring mode (10 ampere). remove the positive wire from battery, connect the negative wire of multimeter to the battery positive point, and connect the disconnected wire to multimeter's positive wire. Now run the engine, you will get the charging current.

you can connect in opposite way also if you are using digital multimeter.

if the charging current is in the order of milliampere then you can reduce the current range(10A) to lower mode to get increased resolution.
