  • GS the best

Hi Friends, Just today i have completed 500 on ODO n decide to post about my GS.

The Bike is really awesome. one can enjoy the pleasure of its drive. As its caption says "Drive me Crazy" is really true.

Until now i haven't crossed 5K rpm. In the lower gear the bike has quite vibration and noise but at higher gear the bike is smooth. Majority time i was driving only in city traffic so the engine RPM will be between 3 - 4K RPM. so i used to feel the some vibration. I don't know whether it will go off after some times or else it will remain like this. Even though the bike is quite heavy the engine easily pushes the vehicle without much effort, i should appreciate the suzuki people for this. Even in the heavy traffic i didn't find the difficult to drive this machine.

So the bike has decent pick up. At signal immediately i cant overtake every one but after few sec i can easily over take people around me. so i think the acceleration is low but it has top speed (i don't know my understanding is correct or not).

Mileage is better then compared to all other 150CC bike segment. For me it is giving approx of 50KMPL. may be this is less but i am satisfied for this. if it delivers the same or more after first service means definitely i will be happy.

One small problem i found is Front head module vibrates little while traveling in an uneven roads may be i should fix this up during my first service. Then even i used to listen some squeaking sound from back may be it is from suspension or not, i don't know exactly, need to check it.

Head light is good, Horn is best for this traffic. Digital console, i like it most. Good comfort for driving(but sometimes feels shoulder pain), i don't know about pillion because i never sit behind in this vehicle. Breaks are good but less confident while applying on the grainy corners.

Lot of pro n cons are there but thing is no man are perfect so how would you expect even for machines. so instead of blaming for each small small thing I just used to enjoy the ride. Even today morning i was coming in 6th gear at 60 speed i just felt like flying on air (this enjoyment makes me to forget all the minor problem in the bike).

Definitely no one will regret GS after purchasing it(Even though i am big fan of ZMR n R15). This bike is for one who likes comfort, decent pick up, good mileage and so n so..

I too experience the same two problems, eventhough i reported in the thread no one really replied on that.
About the squeaking sound from rear suspension check whether its coming from the suspension or the centre swing arm. Mine had some squeaking sound which was said to be coming from swing arm as per S.C guys. They lubricated it while first service, but after a week it seemed to have come up again. I didnt notice the sound as i wear helmet when i ride. Only yesterday did i sat as pillion and found thats on uneven surfaces its making lots of sound, its really annoying at slow speeds.

Anyone knows solution? I have called S.C and plans to give bike to them tomorrow.

The Front head module vibration have been previously discussed in this thread. The SC guys reply was that it is slightly loosened to avoid any damage to the module while riding in uneven roads. If its too stiff , it might break......

Some GS owners were contemplating putting some cloth/tape in the gap to reduce vibrations.

Squeaking sound comes if the lubrication is not adequate, it will be more if riding with a pillion. Ask the SC guys to properly lubricate it.
If you riding more in dusty roads, then the issue may come up within a month or two. For lubricating you can visit your local mechanic and no need to visit the SC.

        • New GS150R Owner..

          Hi guys..

Just registered at xbhp a couple of days ago, but i've been following this thread for quite some time..
I bought my GSR a couple of days ago from Advaith Suzuki, Basavanagudi.
Here's a breakup of the charges:

          Cost of bike : 68308/-
          Smart Card : 250/-
          No. Plate : 113/-
          RTO : 130/-
Affidavit (Company letter for address proof) : 250/-

          Total : 69051/-

Will be getting 1000/- off for lump sum payment. Didn't get any further discount since it's a 2010 model. Dealer said free accessories/discounts are available only for 2009 models.

Initially, i was a bit confused about the colour.. but boy, am i glad i chose blue! The photos do not do it justice.. it looks spectacular, especially at night..

Ride quality's top notch.. (i haven't ridden the unicorn yet, so i cant compare yet..) Gears are a bit hard right now, but going by several user experiences here, i'm expecting it to get better after a few kms..

Thanks a lot to everybody here for their valuable posts..

          • handed in my bike for the 4th free service today. complained abt the rust in tank. Service advisor inspected it and immediately agreed to replace the tank. He even mentioned it in the job card "replace tank", but not sure when it would be replaced ... straight away or some time later.

              Congratulations on the new ride.

Like you have already mentioned it will take some time for the engine to settle down.

Congratulations once again & ride safe.

Congrats on your new bike mate.

How long did they take to deliver your bike?

It's been 8 days since I booked my bike, Jains Suzuki is saying the bike has not yet arrived, since it is a 2010 model it might take time.

                • I booked it on a thursday evening, and the bike arrived on friday itself.. Registration took another day, so i got my bike on monday. (Saturday is a holiday for the RTO).

Dealers get fresh stock only after they exhaust their existing supplies.. so unless they sell off the 2009 models, they wont be getting 2010 ones..

I'd enquired at another showroom closer to my place, but they said i'd hv to wait till march for the 2010 model..

                    • Hi All,
This is my first post on xbhp. I have been lurking around in the forums as a guest for long time. Reason for posting in this thread is that i have recently booked a Suzuki GS150R black colour.
I have seen that many people still are complaining about the rusted tank. Does it still persist and where ?? Mouth of the tank ???
I am told that mine will be the 2010 model, really not sure if it is any different from 2009 one :S

Btw, i already own a Honda Unicorn 2007 model and am using it for my commuting in Pune. This bike (suzuki) will be used in Mumbai
The bike cost me 66.5k on road in Mumbai with few free accessories thrown in like Helmet (should be a simple basic one), number plates (????), seat cover, grip cover, parking cover, signal light buzzer, teflon coating, radium stickers.

I am not buying the bike through the suzuki outlet but through an auto agency. The suzuki showroom gave me the on road price of 69k :S

                              • About Firing

                                Dear Friends,
i have completed 1700 kms so far. i confused about firing sound of GS150r.
if you compare with Unicorn the firing sound is very high, but with others it's normal.
whether GS150r makes sound while firing? or should i do anything?
while it's first service i asked the service man, he said that there is a huge difference between unicorn and GS150r.
can anyone of GS150r users clear me about firing???
