@anup: I had the prolem on the second day but it didnt last long. Once i disengage the clutch the idicator displays the gear. Now it is gone. Gear shift is getting smoother day by day.
Yeah thats true, mine is getting smoother as well so does the sound. Its a little more thumby than before. A little more and it will be very similar to unicorn. I found that changing gears are almost instantaneous when shifted around 4.5 K. Just touch and it will be shifted. But last day it gave me chills. I saw the needle pointing almost vertical. Tomorrow is the rendevous day, i have created a big list of queries. Almost everything that was discussed in this thread. Look forward for it......

Very true brother. I still cant believe it myself. Have been pleading to parents for 4 years to get me a bike. I have been riding Kinetic Honda for last 9 years from age of 13 with my Mom as Pillion. It helped me to develop a gentle use of throttle and the use of engine braking instead of brakes. In my opinion before shifting to geared bikes everyone should drive gearless bikes for atleast a year.

Lately i had began to doze off while riding. Riding it in traffic is real fun as you can outrun even a pulsar 220 or karizma.

Dozed off while driving ... Man you gotta be kiddin'... thats not at all safe bro.. I agree this bike is smooth.. but still you need to have 200% concentration...

Out-running any bike in traffic also depends on the driving skills... so I think with your driving skill, you can do better with a p220...

No brother, i was referring to my previous ride( Kinetic Honda ). No gear shifts and no particular use of legs other than some minor weight shifting, so boring when you drive for quite some time. Quite boring if you know to ride bike. Im riding with more concentration now. Now the problem is that whenever i goes for a long stretch without gear shifts, my good old memories return. Thats the main problem.......

You have to change your riding style buddy, I fell off my Fiero F2 on the very 3rd day, since I was riding it the way I was riding my Kinetic! Tried to overtake a bus near a bus stop (from the left)&a kid jumped outta it. Squeezed both the clutch&front brake (remember Kinetic has both brakes on the hands)&tipped the bike over after a small stoppie!
              Quench my thirst with gasoline!

                • Guys I have filled 4 liters of petrol after reserve n reset the trip meter. Today my bike came to reserve after riding 173 KM. So i think approx 43 - 44 KMPL is mileage for my bike.

Then one more thing today while coming to office a scooty came n hit my bike while crossing the road. By my luck she hit exactly to the left side of crash guard. So only paint got repelled in that portion remaining all are safe.

@ragav: Have u tested ur mileage?

Thanks for your concern bro. Even though i was riding Kinetic for quite some time(9 years), every weekend i used to drive Splendor of my uncle. So its not so unfamiliar to drive GS. Karizma ZMR, Apache 180 and Ninja are the only bikes that i didnt ride so far. Earlier i was mentioning how badly i needed to have a change from gearless bikes( doozing off while riding, over speeding etc etc). Now I'm a very happy man. Only problem is that now im always last to leave on green signal and zig zagging through traffic requires a lot more expertise as well.

Cool, I was having the same feelings back in 2004. You will master it in lesser time than you imagine! All the best!

Now that im revving only up to 4.5 K, riding bike is a little jolty and mom says our Kinetic was much better than this bike. Single ride is just superb........

Ragav, I believe you have reset the trip meter as soon as your bike came to reserve, then filled in petrol and noted the trip meter reading as soon as the bike came to reserve again. If so, then your method is correct.

Don't worry too much about mileage until 3rd service. If you are too concerned about it, just ask the SC guys to test the mileage of your bike.

                            Happy riding.

                            • Super duper commuter

Hey Guyz it has been 900 on ODO. After first service my bike mileage improved from 56 to 59.8. I am just loving it.

                              No hard feelings Falcon

But the consistent trend with GS is that mileage drops after first service
