      • Congrats suresh, for the proud gs owner.

As such the showroom guys will hand over the bike in good condition.

        0)Check for rust issues..
1)The bike odo must be under 100 KMS
2)make sure all the electricals are fine and runing.
4)From technical point of view see that breaks, gears etc are comfortable to you.(mean to say functioning correctly.)

        Thanks,
        kasperr.

        • Guys,
I filled shell petrol once to verify what was up with the bad mileage and here are my observations on few bunks in b'lore..

last time i filled shell, only 100 bucks coz its like 59.5/l
Mileage was 52, i think its pretty decent assuming that shell petrol would have mixed with 3lt of BP petrol in tank.

Before that i filled once at Shankar and sons (BP jeevan bhima nagar), mileage was 47, not too happy coz i didnt rip much too..(i actually never trusted that bunk because i got 35 long back, just tried it for a change again).

and before this i filled atleast 5 times at nagpals garage (BP residency road).
mileage was always between 43-46. never got more than that..

Either BP petrol isnt up to the mark(adultration) or these bunks have tampered with the machines to fill little lesser than what meter shows..

is there any good bunks around kasturba road, residency road, richmond road, indiranagar, mg road, minerva circle ??

Is indian oil petrol good ?? i dont like BP petrol much.

              Are you serious ?
Crap, my bike went through the entire run in period( and more) with shell petrol only. i think i got a mild heart attack after reading your post because i'm not entirely happy with the smoothness of my bike too..
(i'm yet to compare my bike with another gs150, it might just be my mind playing tricks too)

What were the symptoms in your friends bike that made him realize his engine was spoilt.?
was it anything like mild knocking+ engine roughness at times ?

                • Hello friends,

Today evening I came back from office at around 6:30pm and parked my bike in my apt. During the ride, I felt the heat of the engine to be above normal... After 30 minutes, I came out to clean the bike. To my shock, I found the engine is heated very much the same when i had parked it.... I thought it would have cooled down by then...... I checked the heat of the silencer, it had cooled down very much.... Now I do not know if this was due to the chennai heat or is something wrong with my engine ??? I was not able to touch the engine continuously for 5 secs.... but was able to touch the silencer very much......
                  Anybody faced this issue ??

                  • @wingrider the new version has been launched in jan itself i think. Also i don't think Shell petrol has anything to do with it they are high quality stuff.

                    • 5000 Kms. Update

                      Hello Guys,

Am posting after a very long time. My GS has gone past the 5000 Kms. Mark. It took 10 months to cross that mark as i have not been doing a lot of Riding. But i have enjoyed every bit of riding that i have done.

The Bike has behaved very well so far, no major Issues as such. Of late, the Healight Frame has begin to rattle at certain speeds. Will get it checked during Servicing.

Got my Chain Cover and Fuel Tank replaced under Warranty as some Paint peeled off the Chain Cover due to Acid Leak and there was some mild rusting on the mouth of the Fuel Tank. The Process was very smooth as i directly dealt with the Regional Head and it really helps.
Next week, i am getting the RR Unit replaced to CA Series during my Bike Servicing, again thanks to the Suzuki Higher Management people.

On the Mileage Front, every alternate time the Bike comes in Reserve, i get Mileage of around 55 and the next time it gives around 40. Then again 55 and then again 40, and so on. I know it's kinda strange but that's how it is.

I have also recently changed both the Tyres to M45 Rear and M62 Front, both Tubed. Was very tempted to go for 120/80 Sirac as it looked very Yummy . But resisted my Temptation as it was not of the Stock Size.
Handling and Road Grip is Great now. Will post pics later.

Next month, am planning to fit a K&N and probably go for a Headlight Upgrade.

                      • It's been such a long time since i posted here that i forgot that i had a XBhp ID abhi_gsr with which i used to post before. I mistakenly used abhi3284 ID that i had created initially.

hi initialy same problem like u 40kmpl then 55kmpl? after SC tuning it consistently returning 50plus mileage, the culpit is R to R knob or fuel float inside tank, once when i hit reserve i put it again to main after 1km it run another 45 or so in main...strange?
I know someone other then u used this M45 tyre, how is it ? i heard it will last 5000km less then our stock tyre due to soft compound used,I am afraid of puncture's due to soft compound......lot of FZ(yamaha) have tthis soft compund tyre and heard frequent visit to puncture shop, though the make and size is different? how do u feel this tyre....
Also update about ur k&N filter and CA series RR change(effect of this how much illumination u get improved in head light)....

I could only find four small LED's soldered together and fit into a socket like thing. That did't look great to me. And the gerat 'Bablu Motors'(a very famous spare parts shop in NaviMumbai that I learnt is also famous for fooling customers) charged me 80bucks for it and it just went off in an hour. I need to find the genuine 12V white LEDs. Blue ones are easily available though.

@ Baala and others: The fine for parking in a no parking area is only Rs. 100. Towing charges for a two wheeler is another Rs.100. So total Rs.200 if your two wheeler is towed away and you get it released from the police chowki. But if you are present near the bike then you can pay only Rs.100 as fine for parking in a no parking area. We should fight for it if they dont budge. I think if all bikers start retaliating back soon this kind of nonsense will have some relief.
hi bro the LED glowing with headlamp is difficult to take with my w705 sony cell phone may be i will try with digital camera and try to post later..
ya geniune one is difficult to find, what u see is , that one removed from my old pulsar2003 model which i sold in 2009,I fitted that bulb in pulsar on 2008...
2 years left working fine even in this new GSR150 .I purchase in chennai from a car accessories shop for 50Rs, then i found latestly it cost 100 now in shop in Karaikal(home town)....
the 4 LED soldered ur talking is to fit in number plate or other purpose not to pilot lamp, i already posted a picture , pls see old post in the forum
