Ya for same throttle position engine tends to rev more... but if you noticed... at power mode you may feel a bit reduced torque (well my cousin felt the decreased torque) than economy mode, and engine roars little harsh than eco mode under 5000rpm

        • clocked 178km on the ODO today. got a feeling the engine is harsh when over revved (maybe 5.5K !) in eco mode. the engine feels like a hot knife cutting through butter. Simply superb. I did a trip to ECR yesterday and could feel the smoothness of the eninge on 6th.

          I'm Loving it

No buddy, don't rev it more than 4.5 K. For at least 1000 km ride a little patiently. Then set to not rev more than 5.5K for some another 1000k. Gradually increase the revving. I know its hard...Yet for our love.....

Good.. But my bike is only one week old and have clocked only 200KM. so i dont think service camp will be useful for me. If any one attending this means ask them about there next visits to Bangalore.

Hey Ragav, Manual says don't go beyond 5k RPM until first 1000 KM. So try to not exceed this. Even i 2 know about ECR road definitely it is difficult to ride slowly. Then Share some pics if u have taken ur GS in ECR.

Anup, its ok to rev upto 5.5K occassionally during the run in period mate.
Don't ride in constant RPM, keep varying it.
Quit tabulating grudges. Let it off. Discuss it, then trash it, don't recycle it.

Mate it doesn't matter, you can still attend the service camp. You mention the few niggles that you have and other similar stuff and queries. Atleast you can get an some useful tips and advices from the SC guys and from other GS owners.

I too had revved it to 5 k mark on some desperate situations . But once you know how it feels at that range. Especially in 3rd and 4th gear, one will definitely make it a habit.

                          • Miss shifts

Does miss shifts occur when engine gets hot? Yesterday after riding for half an hour i tried to change from 5th to 6th and engine rpm almost rose to 8k and i closed throttle and again tried to shift. This time it changed smoothly. And again on a sudden stop i didn't get time to down shift and from 3rd gear it wont go to first. I tried to shift by moving bike to front, still it wont change. The gear indication was full blank. It took some time to get it to first. I suspect it to be lack of lubrication as my due date of first service is tomorrow.

                              • @archat: Picked it up last saturday evening at 5PM ..
@anup: I had the prolem on the second day but it didnt last long. Once i disengage the clutch the idicator displays the gear. Now it is gone. Gear shift is getting smoother day by day.
