In that case, no arguement would best resolve the issue.
Suzuki is there, and I trust Suzuki with whatever they do when it comes to building bikes.

Not much to be achieved there,
As far as I know, CB Dazzler has somehow lost the appeal that CB Unicorn had and it is not drastically good at performance over CB Unicorn too.

What GS150R needs is a 150cc engine and four valves on the header in the similar chassis and weight to make every thing in 150-250cc bracket gasp.

With this, even the absence of liquid cooling and Fi would do.

GS150R just needs a couple of Bhp more and one Nm of torque more to stay right at the top of premium commuters segment........in all aspects. It is already there at the top when it comes to refinement, stability, presence and performance.

XTP and gear ratios of both final drive and transmission complements each other. The forced aspiration on my bike makes good use of it and startles some above 200cc bikes with performance. But you know after-market mods varies in quality from OEM set-ups.OEM set-ups gives absolute peace of mind as it covers warranty of the bike.

So,what GS150R needs is an outright performance from its sophisticated build.

The weight of the GS150R is due its huge fuel tank which no other bike in its segment can boast off. This is really good for lasting the Highway rides without stopping and losing time for frequent refuelling.

The face-lifted version looks very good and it is drawing closer to the GSR lineage of Suzuki.

Hello vishu. You too have posted photos of a rusted gs150r headlight bracket on this forum. So, should i say you are defaming gs150r?

I mentioned the pluses and minuses of all bikes without bias.

Even that rusting is a non-issue for me. Rusting is not limited to gs150r alone; rusting is present in other bikes too. Rusting is inevitable with time.

Gs150r is one of the best 150cc bikes out there. The only grouse i have is with its weight. Other than that, nothing.

I am absolutely not trying to defame the gs150r.

      • @antonysg: You dont need to defend your position. Youre right just as much as they are. Besides, there are always people who misunderstand or only see what they want to see. So, just take it as your opinion vs theirs and leave it at that. Nobody gains anything from this 'weighty' issue discussed here to no end. Nor will suzuki do anything about it until the next version.

Lets just assume that it mustnt be selling well enough to warrant changes, other than the ones that are sure to attract more customers i.e. cosmetic. Lets leave it there.

More than the weight, the GS suffers from a lack of quality finishing. The upper part looks good enough, but the lower part looks a bit cheap because of unpolished front footpeg mounts and footpegs, rough looking gear lever and chromed 'old-school' tubular brake pedal.....this is in comparison to the hondas, yamahas and tvs'es which have nice looking chamfered or rounded edges on the levers, pegs and pedals, with a nice matte paint or fully aluminium construction.

I wish that Suzuki would have also updated the design and construction of these parts, along with the upper body changes. These would definitely have been needed and welcome changes; and if they were trying to change the public outlook towards the GS, it would have contributed well to it. The stupid looking exhaust heat shield needs to go as well.

@vishnu: Did you look into the functioning of that adjustable shaft for the shifter? What does it do? Is it useful?

        ---------------------

@mach50: If I remember correctly, you replaced your handlebar, didnt you? Which one are you using now? How big is it, lengthwise, compared to the stock handle? Any drastic changes to the vehicle's handling?

                        congrats buddy.... ride safe...

@ all my personal opinion on new GS
                        1) missing the front fork boots on the new GS
                        2) Front cowling looks like its been designed to save cost because now it is in one piece (old one was dual tone which made it look sophisticated if not racy) and the transparent visor size has been tremendously reduced
3)black forks look gud but when i compare both the old n new GS side by side cant see the difference it makes... by difference i mean it doesn't make the bike look any deifferent... mebbe cost saving here tooo black will definetily cost less than gray hahaha
                        4) fresh graphics r awesome luv it...
                        5) lower side panels of older GS were good looking with silver rather than same colour extension.... mebbe a cost saving here too...
                        6) n worst they hav stopped gray colour

so what the hell has improved in the new GS i dont get it... infact i read on this thread a couple of days back that GS price has increased by a couple of thousands.... i mean what has been improvised that we shell out more????

NB: i myself luv my GS a lot infact its the best 150cc bike out there by miles i would say... but some questions need to be answered

Now the good about it is.............after crashing, the old school rough ones do not break and bend and due to non-polish.......they keep looking the same and not become an eye-sore.
And crashing is a must for any bike-anytime in India.

Right,I got the Pulsar 180 DTSi UG3 handlebar for my GS150R.
This handlebar transfer splendid amount of bias to front, lowers our hands on the bar, increases control.
The 180 handlebar is as wide as the GS bar, only lower unlike the 200 handlebar which is uncomfortably wide.

Actually mach-ji, my recent crash bent the gear lever inwards. My first crash on the GS bent the brake lever ~90 degrees outwards. The footpegs and their mounts though, have survived these 2 crashes without a scratch, except for the peg rubber; and feel nearly bulletproof.

                            Thanks for the handle-bar info.
