I have heard people talking about its smoothness.... but to be very honest, mine feels like a tractor.... more of a diesel engine sound.... Is it because its new ??
I checked the oil in the glass at the bottom of the engine, its slightly less than half of the round glass part. Guys i really dont like the sound... its unpleasant... I havnt rode other gs before.. this the first.....its no where comparable to unicorns smoothness....I wish am wrong and there is some solution to it... Experts please shed some light on this issue....... Thanks.....

PS. There is something like a digital clock in the console...is it a clock.. ?? if yes how to adjust the same for correct timing.
Where are you from in Mumbai?
Worry not....your bike is still new......complete the run-in as mentioned in manual.....you will feel the smoothness factor after first service.....

yes its a clock.....press the two buttons continously at same time until the clock digits start blinking.....then press the adj button to change the hour.....then sel button....this will make the minute numbers blinking...press adj to set the minutes....then press sel again....and voila you are done....and if any help needed just ping us...we are only a message away!!!!

The exhaust tip is now opened wider thus it makes like that sound... But once you go past 3krpm range the engine note is different.. Engine is super silent when crusing at 50-70kmph...

that 6+ u achieved today was because of the weight diff... u r half of my weight so a gain of 6-7ks will be there.... i could hav acheived 130Ks today but since it was my first time on this sector was being a bit cautious... but yaar enjoyed the ride a lot.... aur kuch mehenga nahi pada yaar.... riding with all u guys is a lot more worth than an expensive tea

Happy new year to all Xbhpians and GSPians.

OOT ::: @ sparKot, last date on mayan calender is Dec 21 2012 that's the last date. Manyan calender ends their but that mayan calender doesn't says world will end on that date.

Assume mayan calender as bike odo meter, this odometer has 5 digits that doesn't mean bike will stop exactly after touching 1 lakhs kms

Yes, its a different bike beyond 50, but since am in ma run in period, just holding myself back for a while, at least a 1000 kms. Also sometime when i downshift and throttle again in 3rd gear, it gives a knocking sound, and if i downshift further to 2 it reduced speed considerably..... is it just the difference in gear ratio that i need to get use to or something else ??
Btw thanks a ton for your valuable inputs

                    • Hi all...when should one change the initial engine oil? Went to Suzuki service centre yesterday for the first free service and they told me to change the engine oil in my second service...the bike odo reads only 150kms..

Also only Castrol 20w40 is available in SVC...I guess i can use Motul 3000 4T 20w40 in place of it and it will not cause any harm to my warranty...

Finally wishing u all a great year ahead....

As there are multiple fuel jets in BS26 with overlapping range of operation and this operating range totally depends on how much throttle is open. Also MainJet is for top-end performance and it overlaps with a Jet for mid-range performance, I was just curious to know when exactly this MainJet come into play in BS26(Suzuki tuned for GS150R) carburetor.
I asked so coz, telling 60% of throttle is open from twisting the throttle is more difficult than finding speed/PRM @60% of throttle

So, replace the oil according to the recommendation of the manufacturer. You can use any xxW-40 oil in the bike but avoid fully synthetic in the initial stage.
If the oil you prefer is not available at the SC, buy from outside and ask the mechanic to fill it.
The first servicing and oil and oil filter changing of my bike was at 946 kms. It is 20850 kms old now and is without any problems.

Going by owner's manual, 1st Engine-Oil replacement has to be done when ODO reads about 1000 kms and for subsequent replacements it's for every 4000 kms. If you can afford frequent Engine Oil change, then do so.

Mine was @375 kms during 1st service, SVC suggested not to replace Engine Oil. I did replace it before 2nd service when ODO read about 900 kms.

                            Motul 3000 4T 20w40 is a safer choice.

I envy you guys for having pushed the bull to its limits. I had so many opportunities to push it. I think I don't have it in me.

Can you please list out the precautions to take, conditions to exploit to attain such speed?
