Washed my new bike today for the first time today. After the wash, when I start the bike and keep it idle, everything seems fine but when I twist the throttle, the engine dies. I washed it like always and didnt water enter the exhaust pipe. This happens in neutral and 1st gear. I estimate that there's about 5 ltrs of petrol left in the tank. I tried with the fuel switch on ON and RES. The engine dies as soon as the RPMs rise above 1.5k revs. The only way I got the engine to stay alive was by using the choke. But with the choke, the revs were fluctuating till 2.5k RPM. Can anybody think of what is happening? In today's world, quotes don't matter. Quotas do!

The stock setup is AC/DC but there are many members here who have converted to full DC.Originally posted by sayank10 View Postlooks pretty neat, one of my favourite 150 cc bikes, suddenly white colour seems to be rage among manufacturers ,does the headlamp runs on d.c. setup? In today's world, quotes don't matter. I bought my GS from Calicut which is my home town. Once I take it to Trivandrum, Kovalam will be a favourite location.Originally posted by gmagesh14 View PostLong time to see a white GS after Partho & Srikrishna bike...
Looks gorgeous..
If possible, take it to kovalam and bring us a treat to eyes again...
A small tip, make the pillion grab rail to black color., it'll look awesome...
How to make that to black?... sticker?

Riding the GS in Eco Mode
My dealer told me to ride in Eco mode till first service. And they also told me to shift the gears when the shift indicator start blinking. At the same time they said I can ride in 5th and 6th gears if the speed is above 30 Kmph.
Now I am shifting gears according to the indicator and also riding in 5th and 6th gears when the speed is between 30-40 Kmph. But I feel I can shift gears even before the indicators especially when shifting from 4th to 5th and 5th to 6th. Can I do that or wait for the indicators?
My maximum speed was 60 Kmph and average is 50 Kmph. RPM average is 4K and maximum was close to 5K. Anything wrong?
When kept in idle after a ride (30 KMs), the rpm shows 2K and varies to 2.5K.

Help! Urgent!
Guys, I have bought that Engine Kill switch for MRP price from Riya Suzuki, Mumbai. Now the connection has only only one switch, whereas my 2010 GS Model has two switches of 6 pins and 4 pins but this switch I bought has one 10 pins which doesn't fit at all..
I CLEARLY told him my model is of 2010 but he told me that this switch doesn't matter and that Feb 2012 manufactured switch will do.
What should I tell him when I go there? Ask for refund or what?
PLS REPLY!" A man is also known by the bike he rides :D "

You dont have to wait till the indicator blinks. You can shift at around 3k rpm in the usual road conditions. The idle RPM is a little high. Have it decreased to 1.5k RPM when hot(after riding 4-5 kms).Originally posted by mubashirkk View PostMy dealer told me to ride in Eco mode till first service. Arre go tell them to fit it.....and if you are still having the bill for the switch with you should take it along.....
Get a spray paint bottle and paint it.....stickering would look odd and will peel off after sometime....Originally posted by mubashirkk View PostI bought my GS from Calicut which is my home town. Once I take it to Trivandrum, Kovalam will be a favourite location.

Openend the console and found that all are SMD LED's except the Mode indicator,, just what we need to know is which wire is for High Beam Indicator... In trial and error, I found blue wire is for Neutral Light..Didnt had time to check so quit the process and clicked the pics to check back later...
If somebody could able to point out the wires..it'll be very helpful for many..

@Maestro ::: Itch has started along with JEALOUS ....
WOW amazing lighting...

And bring us the process involved...
@mubashirkk:::
By seeing your hometown only suggested kovalam.. A nice beach ,missed a company when I went there last year...
Like Maestro suggested try spray paint., it'll look pleasant compared to stickering...LED's do have polarities and if you connect it reversed when using DC supply it'll not lit up..not the same case with AC supply... Just a resistor will do the job in case of AC..Originally posted by kripscorp View PostHi, LEDs will work in reverse polarity also.
In the console, there would be an inbuilt small rectifier that converts the AC to DC and fed to the Blue LED.- After DC conversion, we are feeding DC current directly, which is not working with the inbuilt rectifier.
- OR, the circuit for the blue LED could be designed in such a way that, it will operate in half of the sine wave.

Yup sure.....dont have much pics though.....
also a suggestion for you....
USE a multimeter to check the connectivity between points...it will save lot of time....

Bhai,I asked the breakups and materials involved..
Even if you pen(type
) down that is of great info and very helpful to us...

AIM:
TO gain a decent light throw from GS headlight
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
A full DC bike(coil rewinded and ape rr used)
P220 projector(low beam)
reflector(high beam)
Relay SPDT
35w H7 4300k HID sourced from Navnish(bangalore)
55w H7 osram halogen
Wires, sockets, tape and not to forget the most important thing M-SEAL
PROCEDURE:
remove the headlmap assy from fairing...
use a hot air gun or petrol to detach the glass from reflector section...
remove the reflector........
measure and make holes so as to fit projector and reflector side by side..
use a drill machine to make holes in which the projector can be fixed using nuts and bolts.....
use mseal to fix the p220 reflector....
make sure you adjust the beam before mseal settles down.....
put back the glass cover....
And viola you are done.....
Conclusion:Thus we were able to get a decent light throw from GS headlight....:PLast edited by Maestro; 02-27-2012, 12:01 AM.
