I read somewhere in forum, may be here or in other forums.,that the fuel injected into the engine will vary based on the mode selected... Is it so?
Such changes only happen in fuel injected bikes which have an ECU to vary the fuel mixture being supplied to the engine. In the GS, it is merely for indicating optimum upshift timings as endorsed by the company itself. The carburetor itself has no electronics to vary the fuel delivery based on the setting used.Other changes that you might notice are only psychological. The bike performs the same under all modes and everything depends on your riding style.

By any chance did this believed feature influence your decision to go with this bike?

Oops you guys kicked out the old unresolved debate,

We are clueless is it psyological or real, as some one long back pointed out the wires connected very close to the carburator,

And someone really shown the diffrence in the speed (RPM) changes according to the mode (ECO or PWR)

if you have time just check the old posts.

Ok let's keep the dead chapter closed.

I believe the on new GS the visor is redisigned to physically distingush GS from other 150cc bikes as many even thought this is a big pulsar.

Yes suzuki knows better than you and me when it comes to designing and marketing as well.

But when it comes to advt / marketing I believe still something drive them crazy not proud about the ride they made.

          • It reduces the chances of visor vibrations too. Since the actual visor is a smaller component of the cowl, even if it does vibrate it will not cause much problems.

                  • Help Needed..

i want to replace the handle bar of my gs150R..i was planning to fit a pulsar 180 handle bar...big one with clip ons..
but my mech told me it wont fit and entire fork assembly needs to be changed..
so i decided to fit a pulsar short handle bar (old one) which will look more sporty.. but my concern is since the handle bar's height is shorter..will it be a direct fit.?? will it affect turning ?? plz give me some advice..
also i want to fit the handle grip(entire unit) as someone had stolen both the metal covering of the handle grip.. so i had to fit a regular handle grip( which looks pathetic) also i want to change engine oil..thinking of Motul 20w 40 or castrol power 1.

Last week my friend got a new GS white in colour.. I think only the headlight and the engine sound is different when compared to my GS

Any idea what the changes in the engine are that causes the difference in performance ?

I guess the new ones have to comply to BS4 regulations so they might have made changes in air filter design, that would have caused a difference in sound as well.
But if its not any major change, then we could also get those parts and add it to our bikes.

Yes, rode it for a few kms through a village road having steep ascents and descents to know how the engine performs and how the noise is.
I think every part including the headlight assembly and forks of the new bike are suitable for the old ones; but not absolutely sure about it.

You will be able to do it in any mode but to do top speed you should ignore the gear shift indicator and shift gears at above 8.5-9k RPM. Please note that doing this frequently takes its toll on the engine and the damage can be lessened by using fully synthetic oil.
Other factors for achieving top speed is the total weight and wind speed and direction and also a warm engine and slightly overinflated tires.

Definitely. The opinions of thefalcon and vikhyath are correct. The power and eco modes are nothing more than indicators. It is true that it helps the new bikers to maintain the bike in a fuel saving speed.
