So what all complaints you have lodged against the SVC? just wanted to know

    @All,

Since the 6 months are over, just completed the emission test for my bike and this is what the PUC says:

    CO : 0.03
    HC : 188
    CO2 : 3.76
    O2 : 14.76

    Everything looks fine then

Better to get a proper ring spanner that is much stronger. Buy the whole set. It will be useful.

Tool set which comes with Bike is just for formality. When you look at them they talk back "you're gonna use me? are you sure?"

Just the numbers of spanners (open/ring)
17mm & 27mm you need on the left
          22mm on the right
          10mm for chain nut

          hope I remember them right...

City dwellers have easy access to Mechs/SVC. However, village dwellers it's better to collect proper tools and hands on exp.

Did you encounter problems during any of your journeys? which tools/spares came in handy?

I'm scared now to go on long hauls without any tool now.. I wonder what was I thinking when I rode at night sometimes without any tool or spare in my backpack.

Can we list out necessary tools and spares to carry when we undertake journey of varying(50 to more than 500 kms) distances?

              • yup....once the clutch cable broke off.....its but natural a cables life is no more than 20,000kms.....so it was bound to happen......so took the clutchless shifting way and rode for about 30kms with traffic, 6 sets of three speed breakers lined one after another (you literally cant go at speeds of >15kmph over them)

But Except that i have never faced any problems in my entire 25,000kms

Good idea.. Please everybody share your views particularly covering the touring point of view like Tools Required, Handling the bike at emergency situations like puncture etc.,
Will be very helpful for a newbie like me..

Complaint is mainly pathetic mileage and tank rust. Other issues are minor but have complained abt it as well. Really got special respect for my bike today from the Service manager. Will get my bike tomw hopefully

                    • 1 year review

                      guys,

my bike is exactly 1 year old. I have had only 3 services. 2 free and 1 paid. 8800 kms on the Odo. Never filled petrol for more than the first bar on the indicator. Since 1 year is completed, i thought of filling the tank and it costed me 1450 for 20 liters. Now, it's back to first bar exactly and it's only 770 kms on the Odo. i believe there should be only 4 liters remaining and add another 180 kms approx. It will be down to 950 kms for 20 liters. mileage around 47.5..the road conditions are really bad down here in Chennai and the traffic..yeah. it's a decent mileage for 150 cc and maybe i need to change the roads which i use and it will hit the 50 kms mileage..

I am extremely satisfied with the performance and comfort ability over the past year. I have never had any major problems except my front Tyre puncture once. I am not happy with the service center..just another 2 free services and i will be looking for good mechanic locally... The longest drive i had was a trip to resort near mahabalipuram and return the next day. 110 kms roundabout trip. my office is around 8 kms. It takes 16 totally.

Yeah, sometimes i have felt maybe my byk should have great pickup..when standing in front of signals, the scooty or activa will zoom past us..it happens..pillion riders especially ladies find it difficult to sit as the ladies handle is too low and my mom is only used to sit in sideways and she finds difficult to grab the handle. Is there any way to lower the height of the seat or increase the height of the ladies handle on the side. I had many looks at the service center and all the gs 150's with the handle seems to be at same height..

reg modifications.. since my bike has crossed 1 year. i am thinking of stickering my bike and also add that vibration alarm..any ideas how much it would cost in chennai and what's the best place to fit it..

and guys my bike still looks like new. I made it has a habit to polish my bike with a cloth daily(morning) even if i don't use it for the day. My area is somewhat dusty.

i have a small scratch on my doom class...stupid underground parking in my office on a rainy day. you are right.. the usual skidding and slipping..pick the bike, stare at the watery patch. adjust the dress as if nothing has happened. well, it happens!!!

I think we need to get money from suzuki for appointing us as direct marketers. Bloody whoever sees my bike asks what's the make, mileage..same things. The worst i had was a one who chased me down in traffic and asked for details..

One more thing, it's single hand drive(not single hand. only myself will ride with or without pillions) for all the 8800 kms except for a couple of test drives for my close frds for a stretch and strictly no triples. I have had enough with my dad's caliber carrying 4 persons during colleges days and also last week!!!

that's it for now and i will be back after the 4 remaining liters of petrol gets empty to update of the milege..please pray for my bike to touch 200 kms and yes damn you S. Jaipal Reddy!!!!

The squeak noise is coming from the dust accumulated in swingarm nut or maybe the dust on the front disc brake.....
