My GS has run 23,000 kms and its last servicing at the SC was the first one at 946 kms. A normal servicing is oil changing, washing and Teflon coating. Some mechanics habitually forget to replace the oil filter.Originally posted by rharish90 View PostI like this idea! Next time I shall threaten them with this.
They always forget to clean the air cleaner too but, as in your case, never forget to add some spurious liquids as oil or fuel additive; that too without your consent.
You can easily do all the routine maintenance works such as oil/oil filter replacing, cleaning/replacing air cleaner, lubing chain, washing, waxing etc. yourself. Try.

Self servicing is good. But I just want to give it for all the services so that the warranty stays intact. Do you have a workshop manual or something so that I can use it for all these minor things myself?Originally posted by punarvasu View PostMy GS has run 23,000 kms and its last servicing at the SC was the first one at 946 kms. Approximately IT'S less Dan 2k.....somewhere near 1.7k with original piaggio ape rr...AND HID kit itself costs 2.2 k.....its not legal without projectors.....Originally posted by sanjukoli12 View PostI got a quotation of 2000 for full ac to dc setup conversion with hid kit. Is the price ok. Also will this conversion will have any effect on the battery or the electricals of the bike.
Also is this Hid setup approved by the rto.

So it seems the better option is to convert it from ac to dc and load it with 55w osarams night breaker.Originally posted by Maestro View PostApproximately IT'S less Dan 2k.....somewhere near 1.7k with original piaggio ape rr...AND HID kit itself costs 2.2 k.....its not legal without projectors.....

He told me the cost is 2k with bosch regulator. Any idea of good shop in kalyan-dombivli where they do the conversion.

Update on ownership:
- I am starting to notice things on the bike where attention to detail is missed out by Suzuki. Like the paint quality on the grab rails is horrible. It has started to deteriorate.
- The indicator switch is not ergonomical at all. I need to spend a couple of seconds to switch it off. There is not feedback whatsoever and I need to press it in an awkward angle consiously if I am wearing a gloves. Bare hands its ok. I cannot expect everything to be given at this price. But whatever is provided should be awesome. Else shouldn't be provided at all.
- The rear tyre is a dry tarmac one. MRF Zapper Y. It starts fish tailing when I brake even at 40. I agree that this tyre was chosen as its cheap and lasts as long as 30,000 KM but bad choice. Need to change to Zapper Q or Michelin Sirac soon. Hope they buy this useless tyre back
- On the other hand, the bike has become much smoother as more KM gets clocked. Yet to take it out to the highway. Lets see what it has in store for me.2004 Bajaj Discover 125 DTSi - 26000 KM - Sold

Help Please
My GS reads 1100+ on odo now and I want to take it out for a small-long ride
Before that I want to upgrade my headlights if possible. I'm wondering whether there is any possible way to do that without affecting my warranty.
I know DC conversion is the only final solution, but wouldn't that affect warranty?
Replacing stock bulb with a 55w one would make any difference?

Even I'm looking for a tyre upgrade. Stock tyre does the job very well on dry tarmac roads for me. But soon I'm planning a trip to kerala, where the roads will be wet due to continuous rain. Till now I never faced any fishtailing issues as you mentioned even-though I do a lot of sudden breaking. But to be on a safer side I'm thinking to buy a good tyre for touring purpose. Any suggestions (I'm a complete novice when it comes to tyres)Originally posted by rharish90 View Post- The rear tyre is a dry tarmac one. MRF Zapper Y. Wait for a few thousand more kays and then go for the DC conversion. Forget the warranty. It will not be there for anyway more than 30,000 KM or 2 years.Originally posted by josettan View PostMy GS reads 1100+ on odo now and I want to take it out for a small-long ride

Same thing. Kerala trip is on the anvil. Do you have a pillion when you brake on wet roads? Good tyres would be MRF Zapper Q or Michelin Sirac although the latter is tough to get I heard.Originally posted by josettan View PostEven I'm looking for a tyre upgrade. THe grab rails and the silver piece near heel shift is more prone to deteriorate....Originally posted by rharish90 View PostUpdate on ownership:

The indicator switch has no problem as such for me.....
the tyre guys will buy it back only if it is unused.....
The warranty will be void for any electrical parts after DC conversion....your bike is still new so dont fiddle with it.....put some kms on odo then do whatever you want....Originally posted by josettan View PostMy GS reads 1100+ on odo now and I want to take it out for a small-long ride

As mentioned...zapper Q is the best for all Indian conditions....even i am putting one soon.....Originally posted by josettan View PostEven I'm looking for a tyre upgrade.
